In this lecture, we focus in on the prophetic ministries of Elijah and Elisha has they interacted with the Kings of Israel. Extensive narratives concerning the prophets Elijah (1 Kgs 17-19; 21; 2 Kgs 1) and Elisha (2 Kgs 2:1-10:36) are grouped together. These are key chapters of the Old Testament because in so many ways they anticipate Jesus’ ministry in the Gospels.
