Welcome to the final episode of our TURKISH STREET FOOD series. What a way to end it. The WORLD’S BIGGEST DÖNER KEBAB! Starting with MENEMEN for breakfast, a visit at the Dolmabahçe Sarayi palace to learn about the Ottoman Empire, eating the most massive döner kebab, a delicious snack of gozleme (Turkish flatbread), a Turkish favourite - rice stuffed mussels, Turkish coffee at an infamous coffeeshop, and an interesting dinner of kokoreç (highly requested).
We were absolutely thrilled with the various street foods and local cuisine we found in Istanbul, and we were very impressed with the warm hospitality of Turkish locals. It inspired us to return and explore more cities, more food and meet more people. We are already in the works of planning our return. Thank you Turkey so much, we can’t wait to see you again!

As a trained chef for 17 years I can approve Ottoman cuisine is just awesome. What a blast this dishes effect to me when I was working in an Ottoman restaurant for almost a year. The Kebap looks so much different to what we get served here in Germany. Just a beauty in meat.
Actually ottoman palace cuisine is totally different from these street foods.i mean its palace food. What turks eat at their home is also completely different from these street foods.

I visited Icmeler with my gf in the summer of 2019. One night, we drank too much and my gf got sick and bloated while walking outside, and there was one young English guy that gave us his water bottle unopened, that I never forget.

I've just come back from Turkey and just love the food.That turkish delight at 15.04 is just devine.If you go to Turkey seek out a good delight shop and you will find so many beautiful flavoured treats.

the world's largest flavors always are in Turkey.The reason for this was that it had a great empire of 90 nations and it reached an incredible level with the formation of these common flavors.

The added bonus of visiting Ankara and Istanbul is that I will get to fly Turkish Airlines from Heathrow, which has an onboard chef and really fabulous food, plus....you get an electronic candle on your tray table to go with your meal. Talk about oh la la!😊
@@LukeMartin I wish you went to cyprus while you were in the area. There's a delicacy called seftali kebab (greek cypriots call it sheftalia and tend to use pork) that is out of this world.
@@sebastianmatarelli5602 Dear Sebastian, F.Y.I, Şeftali is Turkish, it means peach, the fruit. Şeftali Kebab is very famous in Turkish Cyprus. So it is a Turkish Cyprus Kebap. Greek people have nothing to do with kebaps, they learned them from Turks when we were living together. We also learned many home foods from their culture.

Turkey... Istanbul in particular, God - so many of my friends have said that I really must go there! Looking at all those delicious delicacies just re-affirmed that as well!! I like visiting Turkey again. I was there last year. It is an amazing country.
The spice market is so lively and fascinating. I really want to try the Turkish coffee and am jotting down the name of the Döner Kebab place! So much good food and so little time! Thanks for another great episode Luke and Sabrina!

Turkish coffee is an acquired taste so you may want to start with lots of sugar and milk. It will also help to have a tall glass of cold water on standby to help with the bitterness and acidity(cleanse your palate) :D
Every episode was awesome! You actually managed to capture the feel of Istanbul and teleport us there with you. The music, the editing, everything was perfect in every episode. Luke and Sabrina you guys are taking it to the next level. I think you guys are on the verge of a subscribe explosion. Most under-rated travel blog to be honest. There are bigger doner’s in Istanbul but that one you recorded is very special. That doner chef preparing the doner by putting meat pieces one by one EVERY DAY. Once I was there at 6 in the morning; he was preparing the doner. He is so good at what he is doing and it was really joy to my eyes to watch that master at work.
dude i watched the video for that one . I am from Greece and you know we have Gyros . the only place in my city serving Donner closed ....and now i cant have Donner ...only Gyros.... the important thing on my comment is : If you know about Gyros-donner-Shawarma. you know this one is handmade and it must take a lot of time . and i bet it tastes amazing ! nowdays most places take ready meat and they suck.... i really need to eat from that place .
This year I will take my family to Istambul for a week to try all this food.
