Joe...I've been staying around the Thong Lo area for months . You walked by a place you called a little "market place" mini mall with maybe little karaoke bars. It's not ! If you go in there later in the day it's a real popular meeting place for farang and locals (The Commons )...packed with many " worldly " small restaurants . It's become one of my favorite places to hang and dine . There's a tap house and a wine bar where you can get almost every type of beer and wine by the glass ...You seat yourself anywhere in the complex and there's all kind of great seating. It's one of those hidden gems of Bangkok. Definitely check its out ....I'm here for 5 months and that's one of my go-to's ....Soi 17
19:27 walk straight about 50 meters, make the left (Phat Alley), then left on Sukh. 53 Alley, walk straight, maybe a mile, BTS Thong Lor. It looks like you're in an area with many dead ends.
Ya, the area with dead-ends are my favorite. Some cool building tucked away in the trees. But, a 10 or 15 minute walk to the train. I love the hidden streets of Bangkok
I don't even know. I usually do two or three videos at a time. I'm sure I've walked more than 5 miles. But, I used to be a mailman. I can probably walk 10 miles a day. At least I'm not carrying a bag of mail.
Welcome back to town. I'm having a meetup Wednesday December 11 at O Shea's on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Swing by and say hello if you are in Bangkok.
@@EagerExpat Okay thank you very much as always help guidance and tips information regarding me traveling and living in Thailand I've asked you so many questions . I'm up in Northern Thailand , KHON KAEN / CHAIYAPHUM. I MITE make it down that way as I'm trying to obtain a non-O- immigrant retirement Visa since I'm here on an 8-month trip & can / MITE extend it? Have a couple Visa companies in mind but they're down in Pattaya as the last one that did mine a couple years ago charged me $30,000 Thai baht. But now Already have my Thailand bank account just need to get the rest of it handled . thanks for taking the time for your message back. Semper Fidelis. thanks for your USA Veteran service well. Sorry late reply just got back in town last week been playing catchup. It'll be great to meet you someday? sorry for the long message. Thanks AGAIN.
@@jimbrown2485 Ya man, enjoy the trip. I travel often, but shoot me a comment if you stay near Sukhumvit sometime. We'll catch up for a drink. Plus, I'm having more meetups. At least a few times a month. Come meet other expats in this great country.
@@EagerExpat Okay thank you very much for the rapid reply. Yeah I love this place Thailand the land of smiles I plan on living here full-time eventually such as yourself. But still have my 92-year-old mom back in California thank god. I'd love to explore much more of Bangkok since I only know the terminal 21 area around a 5-mile radius as I've never been down to the river yet as I learned to ride the MRT and BTS and of course the airport rail link. And both the main bus stations as I spent most of my time down in Pattaya as it got all too many bars and when covid struck March 2020 I got stuck in Thailand 2 years waiting for a mandatory vaccines to leave the country. Long story but thank God I was retired and had sold my house once again sorry to bother you
@@jimbrown2485 Yes sir. I don't remember seeing your Line. But, to be honest, I can't keep track of everyone. I must have 5 Jim's on Line that I meet in person. I might see then once a year and I forget who they are. I'm trying to keep Line for just friends in town that live here. I set up an email at eagerexpat@yahoo.com. I can then read the message from a year ago and it jogs my memory. Shoot me an email sometime when you are coming onto Bangkok. I live about a mole from T-21
Did I say Soi 30 and a half? I don't remember. Maybe I said that in error. There is a Soi 30 with a few side Soi's, but I don't think there is a 30/1. Soi 30 is between Phrom Phong getting closer to Thonglo BTS
That's good to know. Luckily, not many roosters in the city. The parrots might drive you crazy. Lots of birds in the morning. Me, I can sleep with planes slamming into the deck 5 feet above my head. If I'm tired, I sleep.
Thanks Joe, you always manage to make us feel like we’re walking right along there with you.
Thanks for watching. Many more to come
I really appreciate your long-form videos of the different neighborhoods/streets around Bangkok. Please keep them coming...
I appreciate you watching. More to come

Oh I remember now Soi 30/1 is where the Waterford building is, in between Thonlor BTS and Phrom Phong BTS. Just a short soi with three buildings.
If I were to buy a residence in Bangkok and your neighbors had a rooster I am not buying.
