I was lucky enough to see Once twice in October on Broadway. Arthur & Joanna the first time, then Arthur & a standby girl the 2nd time. Seriously his vocals were perfection - perfect for the character and definitely not flat!!!!!! When he sang 'Leave' it literally gave me chills both times!!! Go see the show then comment on 'what you've heard'
Have you seen this musical? This is the most beautiful and extraordinary thing I have ever experienced. I have watched the movie and I remember thinking that this would be great on Broadway and it wasn't just great. It was absolutely heart felt and amazing. I remember shaking and crying and it is a totally new and different experience. You have no idea what you are missing with that narrow attitude.
I knew I wanted to go and see him before his run runs out but seeing this makes me ABSOLUTELY determined to see him. That voice. Ugh I can't. Thanks for posting this. :)
Arthur just tweeted your video! Living in Europe, I did not even know the Tony Awards, and so I did not know Arthur was going to sing there. He sings really well. Cheers!
I love the music of once - the movie. I started looking at tickets for the broadway show and then two days later arthur darville became the lead. I am going on july 9th to new york with my friend and my mom to see it with my aunt and some of my cousins who live there. All of us except my mom are whovians. Beyond that the music is great. I'm super excited. I get ackward and happy just watching this... I don't even want to think about how stupid I'll look if I actually get to meet him.
This is like a giant ball of AWESOME! One of my FAVORITE movies, with one of my FAVORITE musicians, with one of my FAVORITE songs, sung/played by one of my FAVORITE actors... I was FREAKING out when I saw this on the Tony's. And you can imagine how PISSED I was when CBS cut it off. I wanted to hop in my TARDIS and Falcon Punch whomever okay'ed cutting off his performance. This was WAY better than all those lame Mike Tyson "Jokes" NPH was making!
Unless you've seen the musical, i say you have no idea what you're missing. the musical isnt just random songs inserted, it works with the story and the songs have contextual meaning. It is probably the best musical i've seen, at least in the past couple of years. You can easily put this story in a musical. Hell, falling slowly starts because she starts playing the piano with his sheet music and he starts singing and she convinces him to play his guitar.
You can buy the movie soundtrack and the origional broadway cast recordings on itunes. The broadway soundtrack has the origional two leads Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti instead of the current leads Arthur Darville and Johanna Christie. Much of the Origional cast other than the leads are different as well. I also doubt there will be a soundtrack of these two made because Arthur Darville is leaving the show at Christmas and I'm not sure about johanna. Itunes, I'm sure amazon would have it too.
I love love love this movie! love the swell season band..but I hate that its a musical..the movie was a random movie captured by just 2 people meeting and how they went about creating music together..u cant put that into a musical..i think it ruins it..
whats the best musical you've seen? musicals have just gone downhill in my opinion..the best musicals were way back when like Sondheim and fosse..not stupid movies like bring it on and legally blonde put to a musical..its like now a days whoever can act want to sing and whoever can sing want to act..and most people cant pull it off..
Just because you're famous doesn't mean you should get priority of a role in a Broadway musical. I think Arthur is a wonderful actor but his voice is just horrendous from anything I've heard in regards to this musical. Anyone who knows anything about musical theatre or has an ear for tone could hear how blatantly flat he is. Leave these roles to the people who actually are talented and who have worked their asses off to perfect their craft. /endrant

Thanks for uploading this! It was pretty crappy that the network would rather cut out half of this song than go over an extra few minutes.
THANK YOU! I waited three hours for this and all we got was a few seconds. I just wanted to hear Arthur sing. Thank you so much!!!
I was so annoyed how much they cut him from the broadcast, so thank you for this!
I love you you beautiful creature!!! I was so mad the cut his performance but this is amazing!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Thank you so much for posting!! I'm happy that I've seen the whole song after the Tony's cut the beginning off. I''m very excited to see Arthur sing!
Arthur sent me from Twitter. Thanks for posting this. I can only imagine how he sounded in person.
Thank you! I was so excited to see this performance, and was so let down when they came back half way into the performance!
I waited so long to hear him then it got cut off! Thank you! he's so good!
Thanks so much for posting! I'm really proud of him, very excited to see where his career takes him.
Didn't know Arthur could sing! Bravo to him. Saw Once last year in NYC with Steve Kazee and Cristin Miloti.

Saw it today
Dude, thanks so much for posting this. They cut off the performance on the TV broadcast. :/

I need to go see Once again right now.
He's done quite a few of the things I wish I could. Doctor who, Broadway, being perfect...
Arthur I love you. And I love Once. And I love Broadway. So.
That's exactly what I was looking for I just don't where to find it since I don't live anywhere near New York!
You are a blessed soul for posting this. My t.v. cut it off lol
Ooh my God, Arthur's voice.

THANK YOU!!
Personally I think it works even better as a musical than a film...
So this is what Rory was up to after the Angel sent him to New York.
YOU GO RORY POND. you. go.
Arthur Darvill just tweeted this!

Thank you secret friend in the mezzanine!
he used to have a band called Edmund and he was the lead singer.
Exact same here ^ lol
Does anyone know if there is a studio version or higher audio quality version of this song? Thanks in advance!
I think his voice fits the character. It wouldn't necessarily make sense to have someone who has more training or a polished voice play the role.
I actually prefer the musical to the movie.
Just buy the cast album.
