I’m so glad you have finally addressed the situation pertaining to your personal relationship with the fires, I was worried about you and I am sure that most of your UK fans were too. I was sure you would be alright personally but I was afraid for your home. I will continue to hope that you won’t be affected. Such a terrible event.
What a great insight into the fires and the aftermath. Good one JJ. I hope you can stay safe , but prepared. You have spoken a lot of sense in this one.
Mate, I'm really glad you're OK and you've got back to your home. You're the only person that I feel like I know in LA, even though I'm in plymouth in the UK. I've found myself actually worrying about you. You seem to have a pretty philosophical attitude about things there, it's refreshing to see, but for a while there, you must have been kinda pooping yourself, so again, I'm really glad to see you with a smile. Love from England, keep calm and carry on bruv. 💪
So glad to see you on screen, safe and sound. I have been watching the news coverage on YT. I feel so sorry for all those folk affected - losing their homes, family keepsakes/memories, businesses and places of work - I pray that the insurance companies pay out fairly and quickly and the folk can rebuild. Stay safe and keep us updated - we worry about you. Love from Scotland xx
Brilliant to hear your take on these fires. I'm across the pond and only get shown the devastation. Looking at the news here, we'd be forgiven for thinking that the whole of LA was burning. So glad you are safe ❤
Wildfires are absolutely terrifying. I was living in Portugal during the 2017 fires and they came very close to where I was living. The eucalyptus forestry across the road from the end of my driveway was completely burned down. Luckily, my house survived, but it was very close to being destroyed. We were away for the day when my friends and I heard that the fire was getting near to where we were living. We immediately rushed back to get our dogs who were still at home. The road back to our house was closed because of the fire, so we had to find an alternative route. We ended up having to hike across the wilderness and through fields to get there. We ran back along the road to where we had left our van and the fire was starting to get really close at that point. The air was full of smoke and the heat was so intense. I've never been as scared as I was that day. We were very lucky to get back out alive. I feel so bad for everyone who is currently dealing with the fires in LA. It's terrible to think about all of the people who have lost everything. I hope that everybody is as safe as they can be and I send my best wishes to all who are affected. Massive thanks to all of the firefighters everywhere who help to keep people safe during times like this. ❤️
Hello JJ. I've been watching for the last few days, it's tragic what's happening, I'm glad to hear you're managing well. I hope you continue to stay safe. 🤗 Keep providing updates so we know you are safe and well. Fingers crossed for you, best wishes, kind thoughts and love from your friends and supporters over here in the UK.
I've been keeping an eye on these fires for a few days now and yours is the most informative and level headed explanation as to how they started I have seen. Hope things pan out very soon and that you and yours stay safe,
Good to see and hear you. You were on my mind, Stay safe my friend - you and your family. Appreciate the info and news from someone trusted in the area. Hugs from the UK 🇬🇧
L.A has had no rain since May 24, that's bonkers. I live near 'Madchester' UK and, apart from July/August we have rain every few days. Last week, out of nowhere, we had a weeks worth of rainfall in a one night, causing flooding in certain places.. cut to L.A. and fires, crazy times my friend. Hope you and your loved ones stay safe. Best wishes.
I'm so glad to learn that you're currently okay and that you're ready to leave if needs be, JJ. It must be really concerning for you and others nearby, my thoughts are with you.
Thanks for your clear explanation on how the fire started. I can’t get over the speed of the wind on Jan 7. Here in Australia, we have had a couple fires burning in Victoria, the Grampian Mountains, like in LA, are hard to reach areas. Keep safe, it is Monday 13th, 9.36am here and I have seen how quick the fires have moved into the mountain area
I did ask in your previous video how you were and if you were keeping safe. I appreciate you taking the time to give your input on the current status of things with this current video.. I know we will never meet in person but a lot of us care about you.
that was super interesting! i would not have watched these things by myself, but it's interesting to watch with someone who is actually there! i wouldn't mind you reacting to more LA-related things.
It’s been reported in the national UK news. And sadly, we’ve got the whole political stuff as well Great info of the movement of and science of the fires. Thanks for this and good luck
Glad to see that you are safe and well. Although two channels that I watch are off the air due to the fires. Critical Role have postponed their weekly video as two cast members had to evacuate and Gallifrey Girls are off air although both Kat and Paula are safe. Thanks for the clear explanation of how these fires break out and why these are so difficult to fight. Drought, outside the usual season (so not enough firefighters) and extra-strong winds spreading the embers. I think the city of LA has to rethink how it fights these fires in the future.
The thing that bugs me about the reporting of these fires, most of the media is reporting on all the rich millionaires who have lost their homes. I know even in the rich areas normal working class people live in these areas, they lived there before the millionaires moved in. They lost their fire cover insurance a few months before these fires too. They are not going to be able to rebuild, but i don't see any reporting on them.
Some of the residents where I live have raised concerns with our landlord re only having one exit door in our villas in case of fire but he said don't worry -those places don't burn, they just melt. Awesome.
So sorry to see what’s happening to you Al there right now. It’s awful when all you can do is watch on in horror. You’re all in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks for sharing all of this - it's grest to get the details from the perspective of someone living in the region. Glad you are safe, and I hope this crisis is over soon. I think you're definitely right that there needs to be some fundemental changes about how things are done, because these natural events are just going to be more common in future years. Living in damp old Britain I can't imagine not having rain in 8 months.
My cousin in Aus is a volunteer firefighter & during the last major fires in 2023 the speed & heat was so severe compared to previous times totally unpredictable & travel several miles in moments leaving the fires virtually unfightable describing the scene as watching a swirling ball of flame of wind torching everything it touched.
What major fire in 2023, last was in 2019… when half of the eastern seaboard was on fire from Queensland through nsw down to Victoria.. bigger fire than whole of uk l. I know I was in that fire and was evacuated when my house was minutes from being burned down ..
So glad to see you are ok. Hope you stay safe and sound sorry to see what's happening. Thanks for the information. Been watching the news in the UK and can't believe what I have been seeing. Being English I am shocked you haven't had rain for so long. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and your home. Sending love your way . Stay safe
Glad you’re ok. I’m from Australia and the amount of homes destroyed is amazing!!! We have much bigger area fires, but no where near the amount of properties destroyed😢. I’ve had to evacuate for fire and I know how scary it is. Stay safe.
Thanks for explaining all the scientific stuff like the winds and what they normally do and why this affects the season. Never knew they hired more people usually at this time of year, that was new info. Makes sense . Glad your ok. UK subscriber
Glad to hear you and your family are well. I hope the fires don't get to your neighbourhood. Seems crazy that not only do you live on a fault line but in an area so prone to wildfires. I wish we could send you some of our (extremely plentiful) rain! Keep safe.
Thank you for reassuring us and keeping us up to date. Think you should move over here, unlike LA it feels like it hasn't STOPPED raining since last May! Seriously - take care xx
How do we mock Americans for being dumb yet you dont know that the USA is huge. There are over 15 states in the USA that get more rainfall than the UK 😂 Alot of them get double the rainfall. The USA isnt some dry desert
Glad to hear you're ok. I'm in Victoria, Australia and while I am in an area that's deemed "safe" from bushfire, I don't think it would take much to set a built-up suburb blazing. I always get frightened when we get the really hot north-westerlies. Those are like being in an air-fryer. Most of our bushland is adapted to fire and we do have a lot of controlled burns to clear the tinder-dry understory, but sometimes conditions get ahead of us and we end up with something like Ash Wednesday, Black Saturday, or the fires that raged while COVID broke out in 2020. Recently we lost 76 hectares of national park and farmland in the Grampians from fires that started on Boxing Day and spread through a 440 kilometres area.
Great video 👍 This was a good and educational video as to the politics i don't think a different Govner or mayor would have changed the unfortunate outcome 😊
It's always interesting when you're living in a Mediterranean type area, when the conditions are right the place goes uphill like a roman candles. I live in a similar area Australia, I guess we'll up for it soon.
So glad you are safe, JJ, but it must be a concerning time for you and your friends in the area. I know LA quite well, having spent quite a lot of time there travelling from NZ for work, visiting friends and general R&R. Many happy memories of staying with friends in the Palisades (who have since moved on) on numerous occasions.
The “I” in foliage is not redundant JJ. 😉 Glad to know you and your home are all fine. What we see on our news here regarding the fires looks apocalyptic!
My grand-daughter's school is in Pasadena. As of 2 days ago the school building is ok but the houses each side of the school are all gone. My daughter is having to wait until evac orders for the area are lifted & the air is less toxic to go see if anything in her store is smoke damaged. So sad to see places I've been to or driven through just decimated to nothingness.
Love your channel only found you a few weels (should be Weeks)ago love the way you recact to the brit videos. stay saft and keep on recating. From Southend on sea, Essex England🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
Wow, It’s all going on in LA isn’t it? Earth quakes, Wild fires and all those UFOs buzzing about. What’s next? I guess when the Alien invasion happens you could live stream it?! Oh and glad you made it and are still in one piece btw! 😁
I watched a live video from there. The American newscaster ..(anchor) .was saying. Many remains have been found ..r.i.p to those. Poor souls ...keep yourself safe ...love from. Uk ..
Glad you and youur love ones are safe, Please keep checking in x The fire chief at the briefing said that the hydrants need electric to pump and the power company turned the electric off to stop sparks which is why generaters were sent in
Absolutely horrendous. Just imagine what it would have been like 30 or so years ago without these emergency apps. Hope you'll stay OK. That also goes for all those in L.A. Take care
@louisemiller3784 - That's a good point. Not having a fully crewed fire service may prove to be more expensive in the long run. Or will they just let the victims pick up the bill through their insurance? Either way, the trauma of people losing their homes should not be forgotten just so some bean counter or politician can look good to their bosses. Any bonuses paid for that decision? I wonder.
I’m so glad you have finally addressed the situation pertaining to your personal relationship with the fires, I was worried about you and I am sure that most of your UK fans were too. I was sure you would be alright personally but I was afraid for your home. I will continue to hope that you won’t be affected. Such a terrible event.
Hey JJ - so glad you are OK. What an abosolute catastrophe for the people of LA. Sending much love from England -
Appreciate the update. Glad you're ok. Stay safe

I'm across the pond and only get shown the devastation.
Looking at the news here, we'd be forgiven for thinking that the whole of LA was burning.
So glad you are safe ❤
Please do all the news from now on, this was a great way to learn I think.
Glad you're okay JJ. Amazing that you can be so thoughtful under the circumstances. You're always really honest and authentic. Take care!
Good luck old man. Fingers crossed for your place and others.

So good to see you and know you're okay. Good to know there's a plan in place and good to get real honest coverage of what's happening.
Glad to hear you are safe. Sending love from the UK 💚

Thank you for a really interesting video and insights. Im so pleased you are safe. 🙏

Stay safe mate. Crazy how people keep building in places in high risk fire, flood and hurricane lands
Glad you’re ok, the news and social media in the UK makes it seem like the whole of the area is like hell on earth. I’m sure it is for those affected
Glad you're doing ok mate 👍
Glad you're alright JJLA. I hope your home continues to be safe. It's very sad.
So glad you’re safe. What an awful situation for your neighbourhood.
Scary stuff! Did you see Bob Clearmountain lost his home/studio? 😢
Was concerned for you. Glad yr OK ❤
Absolutely horrendous. Just imagine what it would have been like 30 or so years ago without these emergency apps. Hope you'll stay OK. That also goes for all those in L.A. Take care
30 years ago they created fire breaks and probably had water in the hydrants so maybe would not have been so bad 30 years ago

Have been watching in horror from UK; so so sorry for everyone involved.
