When I first started collecting LEGO sets as a small child in the late 1980s, the bumps on the tops of the LEGO heads were solid, and had the word "LEGO" etched on them. Then, when I was about 10 years old, they switched to having the hole in the middle of the bump. I had always wondered why that changed that. Thank you for providing the explanation, at long last!

The bumps on the heads of the Lego Minifigures are usually to attach Various things like hair or headgear like helmets to hats
The hole in the top of a lego head is actually more dangerous than a sealed one. That is because whilst having a hole will let air through, it will still not let nearly enough air for the child to hold its breath much longer, but not only that but the small amount of air it lets through prevents the child from being able to put air pressure on the head and blow it out making it harder to get out.

To measure the depth of your tire tread all you need is a US quarter. Place it where the head is face down. If the tread covers part of the head, it's fine, if it doesn't, it's time to change it. Most tires have the ridges now, but that's still another fast and simple way to measure it.

An excellent video. I did not know about the lego head. And I do not remember if I knew about the parking pawl in the shifter but think I experienced it after I had a wreck in our Nissan Versa.

Try blowing one hard, it doesn't sound at all like a bird chirping. They're designed to get attention. Side note, it will be LOUD, so maybe don't do it indoors or around pets/animals, and warn your friends/family first.

I know another elevator trick: Elevators always chime once when going up and twice if they’re going down
That's true and it was done so that blind people would know which way the elevator was traveling before getting in. In big city high-rises if you get into an elevator going in one direction it can sometimes take a while before it is able to go in the opposite direction. Also, firemen and some other emergency personnel have keys to control the elevatory when responding to an emergency. This is called fireman service and they control the elevator with a key. Something that is very different is what is called the "sabbath circuit". That makes the elevator stop on every single floor going up and down on Saturday's because certain Jews aren't allowed to turn on lights or control the elevator or use most things that are not done manually or with natural ability. I don't know all of the parameters but I know they can't turn on lights/electricity or operate the elevator but they can step in the elevator and get off on their floor as long as they don't control it. The elevator automatically stops this feature once the "sabbath" is over.

guys I found one that they didn't talk about...
In your mouse on the left side there are two buttons.The one slightly on top is the go in arrow and the lower one is the go back arrow.These arrows are the arrows on google on the upper left side.
Lego heads have holes for not only breathing but for placing hair pieces head dresses cowls and hats anything they need to turn the boring minifigure into a character.

I learned to ride a bike at 4 or5 with NO training wheels and I did a sweet trick were you put one foot on the seat and one foot on the handle bar and if you are starting to slow down you can hop off the handle bar and put both your feet back onto the peddles and stop or turn around it also took me 5 or 10 minutes to learn
Don't forget about the Emergency Windows near to the wing of the Aircraft and depends to the size and Type for it's Other location Plus the Emergency Floor path that Glow to ensure that the Passenger see the mid section when the visibility is low because of Smoke or It's dark and lead them to the Designated Exit's

The lego heads hole's are used so you can put hats/head epquipment on the lego figure.
I don't think I've seen road reflectors before anywhere in the county I live in, but in a big city I have. We don't have fire hydrants where we live, we rely on the tanker trucks, so don't think we'll ever have any blue reflectors, but when we, or if we get to travel late summer, I'll keep that in mind.
I learned about more new ones than I thought
I wish there had been a hole in Jawbreakers. The dreaded candy had to have been the worst thing ever invented. I had one down quite a bit when I inhaled the blasted thing. It wouldn't go down, and it wouldn't come back up. I gasped in air for what seemed like a lifetime. My body kept trying to go into panic mode, which was horrifying as a young teenager. I never bought one of those again after that incident.
The express elevator and blue reflector were the coolest ones
And some pen caps can be used as a whistle and if you swallow it it should make the whistle noise

to answer your question after looking at the thumbnail those holes in the lego head is to help make it non air tight so it's easier to take off of a body piece
The lego head holes where to tiny to actually allow someone to breathe so thats why they retired the head holes

Sat on a plane once for a domestic flight, my leg was getting cold. Incas sitting against the window side and notice as we levelled off there was ice between my window pains and what looked like cracks in the outer plane window, , it was freezing and then freezing down inside the planes inner wall and had iced up causing my jeans to also frost against the panel. I called a flight attendant over as I was in a row by myself. I explained the ice and the cold feeling and showed the cracked outer window and with the most shocked look on her face she tried to say " our apologies sir but thats nothing to worry about, " then she left really fast towards the front of the plane. she never came back and I moved over 2 seats and buckled myself in just to be safe,, not fun,

I have spotted one of these on my street, now I finally know what they are for.
I always thought that the hole on top of a lego minifigure head was so that air didn't get trapped inside the head when you went to put it on the torso, since that could in theory prevent you from getting it all the way on.
