- Trying to use the Search section on your Start Bar/Taskbar, but can't because it's just blank or not showing anything? Well, this video shows you the simplest solution to this issue and what may be causing it. By the end, you should hopefully be able to search your computer as usual!

The indexation rebuild has worked for me !
The last time I had this happen, I just restarted my computer and it worked itself out. This time I tried to avoid it and found your first solution worked, even without having to restart afterwards.

The index rebuild worked for me!! Like a charm!! Thanks so much!! I tried everything else. Stopping and starting the search service. Replacing the SearchUI.exe files. DISM Scan, SFC Scan.

My windows opens when I press the windows button, but once I click the search bar on the top it all cancels itself like I exited. How do I fix this?

Thank! this problem almost me me pull my hair out the bing disable did the trick usually i'm using everything to search but it can't find some stuff especially related to setting specific to window ( Like open firewall, control panel stuff like that ) which i'm using window search for it
New window update make search bar blank / forever loading made me try everything until i resort to reset this pc ( end up not work ) and even reinstall window still not work til i disable bing in reg edit it work now

Hi, i already try in my laptop but it still not working, i user win11 OS Build 22621.2428, and if try rebuild indexing its always not cpomplete always paused.
re-indexing helped, but it only indexed like 90.000 elements, despite the fact that I have 650.000 files and 250.000 folders in that disk. So it doesn't index all files. What can you do against this?
Thank you, I don't know why but my index stopped working, I did the re-index files step and after ''rebuilding'' it fixed itself.

nope, do i just reinstall windows at this point. i remember clicking something when i right clicked in the taskbar and ever since then i can't search.

Hey, for anyone reading this, this happened to me years ago. I fixed it by opening the file C:\Windows\System32\ctfmon.exe every time I restarted the PC using the Windows + R key.

Not getting search results from the internet is a godsend. So annoying when I try to find a file on my PC (I might have misspelled it), hit enter, and Edge opens up with some search result.

My indexing is paused and is stuck there.
my problem is when i clicked on search bar it moves downwards automatically just like if i scroll it down using down arrow. i tried to fix it using this methods and it's not working. my mouse and keyboard working properly on everything else just not when i click on search bar. is there anyone else experience the same issue and know how to fix this?

@@Mrdsmith500 Didnt find a fix that worked for me, but i did speak with microsoft and we reset my pc, kept all the files and downloaded it with cloud option and it works now, my pc’s also running more smoothly. Apparently i had windows files that were corrupted so it fixed them completely
Edit: It fixed the search bar
@@assassins13610 I got this after running the scan. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Then continued with a path to the logs. I'll try to figure out how to do a "reset" Thanks.

Nothing helped my Searchui.exe is not there and the Search Fuction is not even able to use. When i write something in the search bar there arent letters or anything
