Why do collectors keep Funko's in their box? Is it:
A) To keep them in Mint condition
B) The box is nice
C) To retain resale value
WRONG. It's D) Cause you'll forget what it's supposed to be and where it's from otherwise.
D is the only answer TBH
E) So the can't eat your soul in the middle of the night.
I have exactly one Funko and it's Peebee from Mass Effect Andromeda (still pissed they didn't make one of Vetra), who's easily recognizable at least. And I only took it out of its box because some walnut at Amazon decided to ship it in a plastic bag, so the box got all smashed up in the post.

Ashens invented a game just to illustrate how generic funko pops are. I love it.
Now all we need is a Funko Pop Station to complete the cycle
This is why people keep them in the box.
Not so they "retain their value" but so people can tell what the hell they are.
Why do they even need to buy any licenses? I'm pretty sure they can win any copyright lawsuit by claiming that their designs have nothing to do with any IP.

Legitimately thought Undercover Sam was Agent Mulder from The X Files.
It look more like Mulder than the real Mulder Funko except the real one has the FBI badge. But if someone mention Sam from Supernatural it's clear to me that it's not Mulder.

I guessed a few of these correctly, Ashens didn't even pick the worst ones! There are so many more that are utterly unrepresentative of their character.
True. Basically everytime I see those in shops or conventions I go through this process of "there's so many, and I have so many fandoms, there's *got* to be a good one among those." Call me picky but I don't even own one single Funko pop xD They are not worth any money.
Fiorina Artworks I have one, Princess Bubblegum. It's one of the more unique sculpts and I feel it accurately depicts her chibi likeness.
The only one I've ever even remotely been tempted to get is Stitch. The Pop eyes work fairly well for him. The worst one I've seen in person is Shrek. Although the pictures I've seen of Donkey, Dory, and Ursula, to give a few examples, are absolutely awful.
Demint Monroe ah, I've never come across that one, she might work. Mostly I see the ones based on humans, and they are spectacularly bland.
This is good news maybe there will be a Round 2!

Instantly recognised the Sam Winchester one. It's actually very much like him, especially if you could see the sideburns better.
The only reason I have to feel even slightly attached to these little hell dolls is that their great big rectangle heads resemble my own

Well I've seen Stranger Things, Sherlock, Supernatural, and The Goonies. I didn't get any of those characters.
I did somehow manage to guess the Jessica Jones one purely from thinking "hmmm... what's popular right now and maybe has a female lead? Well I've heard of that 'Jessica Jones' thing recently."

I wish there was Always Sunny ones I would definitely buy.
I recognized Moriarty and Jack Crawford by the hairline alone. strangely they seem to have pretty similar ones. Also Jack's posture and the shirt/tie aesthetic of the series helped a bit.
Corleone's funko pop is an insult in plastic figurine form.

I could not guess any of these, it was just a bunch of dudes in suits with rather generic hair styles. Their ability to guess at all amazes me.

That is EXACTLY what I thought and I was genuinely blown away when it wasn't
After he said Undercover Sam, I could kind of see it, but ya it did at first look more like John Travolta from Pulp Fiction.

I thought it was David Duchoveny as Agent Mulder.
I thought it was Saul from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul.
The last one was clearly just the Bruce Wayne one that didn't sell well so got repackaged.
It's because of these bloody things that it's so hard to get decent figures. The TV and movie shop in Norwich basically only sells these types of figures these days.

Jessica Jones was the only one I got, although I didn't know who most of the other characters are. When Barry said "where do they come from", am I the only one who thought Stuart was going to say "where do they go, where do they come from cotton eye Joe" :-)

The "Mike Bluth from Arrested Development" one looks for all the world like Agent Cody Banks from that dumb kids movie
On #3, i saw the grey hair and the suit and immediately thought that was Alfred from Batman--> 04:20. I thought the next one was Bruce Wayne ---> 05:23
10:24 - Michael Bluth's hair never looks like that! I legitimately thought the figure might be Dean Winchester, though that seemed like too much of a coincidence right after Sam.
A big issue Funko runs into with the "live action" figures is that rarely do live action shows have characters who stay in the same outfit all the time, like a cartoon character might, so they don't have a recognizable outfit, and when you can't go off of face, all you literally have is hair!
Yeah, the hair triggered me a little towards Dean too, but he actually does have a significant outfit (grey t-shirt, green jacket and jeans) so it couldn't be him.
He did wear once a fantastic looking grey suit as a fake FBI agent but I'm not about to fangirl here or anything ^^
Good to see Barshens back to just the original two (well, kind of - but you know.)
Most of the hair isn't even remotely representative so it just looks even more generic than it should.

I'll never understand the Funko Pops. Although at least the Sam Winchester ones are in fact marginally identifiable thanks to the relative rarity of long hair and the side burns - the Dean Winchester ones are just bloody hopeless.
The second one didn't even have the same hair or shirt or jacket that Corey Feldman had in The Goonies - CHRIST!

There is no mistaking Dan Nerdcubed, just waiting for him to come back from his break watching some of his old content in the mean time to fill in the space the lack of his episodes have left.
