just for the record, I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special with a group of friends and immediately after finishing that, I put this episode of Famidaily on as a post show of sorts and honestly, that special and this game really share something in common and that's taking Star Wars and doing whatever with it
Never realized just how difficult this one was! may someday track down a copy I have dragonbuster at my parent's house partially cus I dug the metallic gold and it'd be cool to have the silver star wars to go with it.
@@RndStranger More than just that, the dinky melee attack, the vehicle powerup that sends you careening forwards, the collectible powerups you use by opening a menu, and the one-hit deaths really remind me of Alex Kidd in The Enchanted Castle.
I actually have this game CIB as well 😁😁 it's not easy, but it's worth it as a Famicom collector and a "Star Wars" fan that was born in the same year as the OG film 😎😎
It's a shame this game is insanely difficult, it has some elements that would make it a great game. It looks really good and the gameplay have some variety

I feel sorry for those poor people. Didn't they suffer enough with the Holiday Special? I hope you at least played it with the Rifftrax.
"Force Continue" is one of the powers that still didn't make it into the Special Edition.

Ah, I must have missed that part in the movie where Vader turns into a Pterodactyl! 😆
Fun fact: The game was programmed by Yoshihiro Kishimoto, the same guy who programmed the RBI Baseball games.
or family stadium in japan or later Famista
Is it just me or does this game have absolutely huge "Alex Kidd in The Enchanted Castle" energy?
I can see it. They've got the same kind of rough edges and go at punishing the player.

@@MonkeyDCruz I've seen Japanese reviewers compare it to Alex Kidd in Miracle World as well.
More Miracle world for me. Imagine a force janken match with Darth Vader.

I played this as a kid and while it was hard, it was not impossible. I have fond memories of beating the game.
I have this cartridge but I prefer the other version. This was a tot’s disappointment.
