I cant believe it took 10 days for ppl to realize the power of chain drifting. I suck at the mode and barely even play it anymore and yet the fact I used to play Mario Kart DS made me instantly realize day 1 that Snaking/Chain Drifting is a good way to gain & maintain speed

Heya! I'm am Unreal Rocket Racer. My experience was that I never knew a ton of the crazy tricks in this game until I was already at Unreal rank. But, once I was there, I just started seeing other players doing those crazy techniques and it just snapped in my instantly. I didn't try doing those tricks in a private game to get them right, I just... did them, and it worked. So, that's how I learned some of the more complex tricks in this game.
Hey, nice to hear from another Unreal racer :) Yeah, the mechanics look scary (and on controller air drifting on normal binds is i guess), but when you actually start using them in your gameplay, it ends up being not so bad. However, the really hard mechanics (bugsliding, barrier breaks, and now turn buffering) are a different story. Bugsliding is a 1/40th of a second trick, which is 3 frames at 120 FPS. It's gonna be nuts when people actually start getting WR's with it though.
I saw a vid of chain drifting and that alone got me to elite. Now I know other tricks like air flipping off an upside down passage way but as long as you have good car control you can get to unreal. It’s all about consistency in your route now I find and not getting bumped to the outside of the track
Ain’t no way air rolling is an actual tech that has been named! One of my RR friends’ kids accidentally discovered it while he was messing around but I couldn’t find any practical use for it in actual races.
Yeah, we also came across it the second day following its addition, and there's still huge potential there, with a lot of WR's up for grabs. Plus it's awesome to see the community make these discoveries together :D hope you enjoyed :)
The funny thing about chain drifting was i did it on launch day (I was an average Crash Team Racing player previously) so i tried using chain drifting, and it worked, but since I’m not actually good at the game I expected everybody else to have known it too lol.

It went widely undiscussed until Nathan took most world records, which was when people were forced to employ similar strategies (which finally occurred ten days after release).

sorry, are you sure about that? you're literally saying you're better than a world record by ten seconds 💀💀💀. Any clips prior to that is from the early days of the game, when the techs were first discovered. If you came even close to 1:31 on AB2 i'd be shocked, respectfully. For context it's 6 seconds faster than second place. Both players are unreal.
@@toni-toni-antoni I am not unreal myself, I'm elite. I'm in school currently and with editing videos on the side, it hasn't left me much free time. Most of the others in the team are unreal though. You'd probably know Tigeraura and Ewarz out of all of the members
I'm not entirely confident on speedrun mode at the moment... although that could easily change. I think the mode needs some original tracks to succeed, rather than just ripping parts from other ones. If it does change, expect a video for sure :)

@@SwiftestRouteOnly haha ye lol, I just ran every single map 5-10 times close or according to the world record route depending on how hard the record was and that alone took me to unreal placing podium even on 150 ping and last spawns elite and above. My habit of watching pro play really closely from rocket league has definitely had an impact on my racing skills i guess😂

Watching anyone in the top 50 players is an absolute blessing, you learn a lot more than you'd expect in a short period of time just by watching them. And yeah, default binds are... interesting
@@SwiftestRouteOnly wait so when you say "dont use any templates" do you mean templates as in the ones that show the capcut logo in the top right or just that you dont use any of the inbuilt transitions and just keyframe everything?
i do everything manually - the text popping up word by word is by using individual black layers to make individual words 'appear'. I obviously still use transitions tho, much more efficient and high quality to do it in the software

If you pull down on your joystick in the air, the car's nose will pitch up. On kbm there's a specific bind for it

I’m a controller player and recently I’ve changed my drift button to L2 (LT), unbinding my reverse button and it’s SOOO good.
I discovered all of this, especially turn buffering, by watching top players and discovering it myself.

I use CapCut, but I don't use any templates - all edits are done with individual layers (other than blur)
