I will never forget a portable charger again, after an incident a few years ago in another city…we went to a concert that ran very late, and neither my husband or I had hardly any charge left on our phones. We were in a bad part of town and were very nervous we wouldn’t be able to call an Uber as planned. Luckily it turned out ok, but lesson learned!
I had my phone die while following Google Maps directions to a friend's house in a dark, rural area. Luckily there was a gas station nearby that had one charger left!
Great ideas. Headed to Rome soon, was told not to were clothes like this. That you will stand out like a tourist. I think i will wear what is most comfortable for doing a lot of walking and just enjoy my trip .
I would add one for renting a car... Bring one of those vent clip cell phone holders. I learned the hard way after trying to get mine to balance so I could use Google maps while driving downtown LA. I went and bought one and it was awesome.
As for rain jackets, I get those clear disposable ones from the dollar store. I don't throw them out after one use though- you can reuse them! Much lighter than packing your own from home.
Laurie I’ve been following you for a few years now & your tips have been invaluable! I’m heading to Paris & Normandy next month & the packing lists have been activated as well as decanting liquids into smaller leak-proof containers. Thank you for making travel so much less stressful!
Hi Laurie, Elizabeth here from Australia. I just love your hints, tips and info. Thanks to your dear husband too. I am going to UK next year and boy, I have learnt so much. So thanks so much xxxx
We will be going on a mini vacay to Hersey's Chocolate World and Lancaster, PA for less than 2 days for brief touring, chocolate tasting, shoe shopping, etc. I will test out my purple FOLDIES bag since I won't be wearing anything fancy and can fold everything. Updates to follow. TY for all of your fun and useful info.
OMG just got home from Zion. I need a new roller bag. We ALL HAD TO gate check because they switched planes on us to a smaller size and nothing fit in the overhead 😮😢ugh
@@TravelTipsbyLauriemy carry on suitcase. Smallest they make and still didn’t fit 😢 I will check out your list. I’m thinking backpack with rollers and do it with one thing 😂maybe or maybe not LOL
I keep all my stuff for travel in my husband’s backpack. Such as our liquids bags filled with our liquids ready to go , toothbrushes toothpaste, etc small hair brush etc. then my empty pill box to fill as reminder before we leave.
Your last few travel hacks and tips have saved me, my vacation and possibly my marriage! 😂 Seriously though, we’re in Budapest and having to hurry to our Avalon River Cruise several hours early. I think they’re going to be able to get us out of our port, but I’m not sure a lot of countries in the area will be so lucky. I feel terrible for everyone whose vacation is ruined because of all the flooding on the Danube! I will definitely be investing in the roll up rain jacket that you mentioned in one of the videos. I’m regretting not getting that! To anyone reading this, just buy the little portable rain jacket! Trust me!!!
Almost every excursion has been canceled for us. We’ve packed and moved to a different ship. So bummed but after 5 days we are seeing the sun so we’re grateful! That #rainjacket was a lifesaver.
Laurie, I am “devouring” your You Tube videos! I am looking forward to a Summer 2025 trip to London with my daughter and granddaughter. My granddaughter’s high school drama group arranged the tour. I have flown only 3 times in my life, so your tips are so valuable to me. Thank you for all your sharing!❤
Hi L: first time traveler ! I followed all your tips packing, TSA pre ck, printing my boarding ticket and did it again at kiosk, and Delta showed me how to use the mobile boarding app too. also had to pack my cross body bag into my personal item bag right before boarding. Boston flight very short from Pittsburgh Pa. flight full so they offered complimentary ck bags . i went for it since i had a 2 wheeler travel pro for this trip. i did buy a level 8 for my next trip . stayed Solo in my hotel room and it was Clean and i checked!! used the door security lock from amazon tool tricky to use but got it! baggage claim at Logan VERY quick and organized. LOVE LOVE BOSTON. met folks on trip tour from TEXAS and all over the USA i do need a Hat !! and i think for Italy i will need a personal item bag a bit bigger than my NomadLane. keep up the great work you are doing. all the best mjg

we're officially in the 1 week countdown to departure. people like me who can't wear contacts know to always have a hat with a brim, to keep from getting rain on our glasses. I always do checklists. and another reason to have the car cord, is that many models of car use the phone's GPS for navigation, IF you plug the phone into the car's USB. you just download the free app, and plug the phone in, and it brings your navigation onto the car's screen. I've already checked and the rental car I expect to be getting does have this feature. also, paper backups of itinerary details. in case all else goes wrong. but today's task should be to polish my boots.
I'm going to Australia 10/14...for 3 weeks. I wonder what the 'spring/summer' is like...I've researched and am still wonder. I have watched and watched and get more confused. I hope to wear a Tommy Copper tank under my travel outfit to support my back. That shouldn't set off any alarms right?

Have a wonderful time! Are you packing in only a carry-on for this Fall trip?
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie yes…I have a small samsonite spinner and I really pack lightly.
In addition to those hand sanitizing wipes, do you also pack something to wipe down tray tables, etc.?
Hi, I used that for hands and airplane.

How do you travel with a hat on a plane?
She puts it in suitcase, upside down. Stuff things under brim and in the hat itself. I did this last week and it worked great.
I put it above my personal item under the airplane seat or pack it upside down in my luggage with a sweater packed inside or socks etc.
