@ 0:30 That is one ugly truck... A company so cheap they used front doors on the rear doors to save money while making their product look cheap and ugly...
Interesting, they are going into the towing business where customers behave just like them and worse. I would be tempted to call the bank and tell them the sold as is truck was dropped at your lot and is racking up storage fees. I know you don't want to do business that way, but to just drop the truck off with no prior conversation is arrogant and stupid. My take is their lawyer is going to make allot of money in the towing business.
It’s a bit humorous honestly at this point you are correct that is how we should handle it but at this point we’re just letting it sit and letting them figure it out
Sounds like this customer didn't know what they were doin... I bought a truck from you guys in 2020 and you were straight up about the condition and I fixed it and it's still goin strong...And I'm saving for the next one from you guys😂
💪💪 we try to be overly descriptive things are used and do break but this is exactly as you said they bought the wrong vehicle and had no clue about upkeep and maintenance
You are correct it’s a scary thought to think someone this un knowledgeable would’ve been carrying a car on the back right beside you in traffic, but I guess everyone has to start somewhere
Asis yes…. Were the issues on the one you are referring to Spelled out line by line issues like we did no… we know why the auction didn’t spell out the issues with the one you are referring to was because there wasn’t enough ink or paper to write it all on. Actually promoted it as perfect frame off restored …. Totally different scenario we could go on for days on trucks like the shitty Squarebodys sold at auction but we don’t want to take over all the TH-cam watchers to our channel only seeing what crooked things and dealings are really out there
I've always said it, until you are an entrepreneur yourself, you can't grasp and respect the concept of it. Everyone wants a deal, buddy discount and beat you up on the prices every chance they get... Ok, well how bout you come perform some work for me and I'll nit pick you and gripe all about your prices too. Expect you to take money outta your own pocket just for the sake of me getting a better deal. You really see folks true colors when you're dealing with them financially. These folks must just be starting down the entrepreneurial road for the first time ever, or they haven't gotten 'taken' yet in their entrepreneurial journey, or this probably would've played out much better for both parties.
We have a whole video ready to post about that. We just need to edit it unfortunately, with all the hurricane situation, we have not gotten to it yet, but it pretty much says exactly what you said why ask your buddy to do it cheaper when one you’re their friend too, you should support small businesses and three even if they do it for the same price as a corporate company real, you’re getting the same deal getting better more personal work and you’re helping out the local economy and you’re supporting your friends business but people just do not understand that
Despite the fact that everything was above board and documented (sounds like the customer doesn't even read or speak the same language) how in the world was it feasible for them to bring it back from halfway across the country? Long way to go to even buy it in the first place. You even letting them on the property with it doesn't even sound like being bend over backwards nice guys... sounds more like enabling these people which shouldn't be happening.
@DavisOffRoad1 ok cool. Didn't know there was a part 2. Did you charge them for the miles. Jw. Thanks for the reply. Wasn't expecting that. Most people with a lot of subscribers don't reply. I just started and I reply to everyone. Thanks and I did subscribe.
Awesome we appreciate you following and we have not done a return nor anything at this moment it’s in the bank’s hands as to where and how they wanna handle it but yes, that would be a mileage or a deduction of value in the vehicle or something to that effect that will take place
No way should you have to take a loss from their ignorance of the phrase as is. I understand you want to try and make it right, at the most offer them to fix the issues and split the cost. If not, it's all on them. I think they didn't really know about how hard the tow industry is to get started.
You got scammed, “as is” should be the fact that the person who buys it should be stuck with it. Truck is in good condition, let it sit and put a lein on the people who bought it. There loss, they’ll have to pay for time lost to you
@DavisOffRoad1 hey I honestly feel bad this happened to you. But I will give you 2500.00 cash for the truck to help you guys out. Dont thank me it's all good man. I try to help everyone.
1:47 I know you're in it for only about $12,000 so I'll tell you what I'll do because we know you're not going to get that money out of it it's overpriced and these trucks are only selling for about $22,000 that's it! I'll trade you 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD I just had a new transmission put on they're finishing up with it this week at the shop has $230,000 mi on it four-door crew cab let's face it we both know you can turn around sell the truck Yes it's a four-wheel drive with the sound system we know you can turn around and sell the truck for $18,000 get your money back and then some! Let me know! I'm in the towing business and auction business and part automotive sales and I know and we know what you have in it! I'm very very well aware of that truck particular year model and the mechanical issues that comes with it especially with the Allison transmission!
So much of this story doesn't sound right. Sending someone that doesn't even have the knowledge to operate the truck is extremely odd. It seems that they either needed a truck to haul something or once back home they changed their mind on a new business.
Bingo choice number two is exactly what it boiled down to. That’s why when we offered to trade them for a newer vehicle not only could they not afford it they just did not want to go that route at all thinking they figured out about the operating cost and other things after the fact.
They are on the hook for the loan. The next step is to let it sit there for a few more months and the repo man will come get it. The dealer can charge storage in the mean time. Because it’s on their property and they have to keep it secured. So they are entitled to a storage fee. These folks will loose their down payment and ruin their credit. The bank will try and resell it AS IS. then they will sue for the deficient balance. Repo fees. Storage fees. Lost intrest that could have been earned. And auction sales fees. All those get calculated for a grand total. Subtract the sale price form the auction. And the reminder goes to a lawsuit for the debtor. The bank will sue and win. Then garnish future wages and bank accounts of the debtor. And that’s that.
Got played you must not have watched part 2 we were fully paid as always when the vehicle left. This is a fight between the customer and the bank not us.
Sounds like maybe they could have stolen some vehicles around your area maybe hauled them back to Colorado. You might want to check and see if there was some vehicles stolen where you live
IF you sold the truck then why do you still have it? Its sold. Tell the customer to come pick it up. Why should you have to do anything for them due to their ignorance?
@@DavisOffRoad1 So what is your process now with it? I mean I get they are not local and just returned it but that doesnt undue the transaction. Assuming they financed through a bank? Do you now have to go through and contact the finance company to explain how they are off the hook? You sound like a good honest company, but this could open you up from others who may do the same thing.
@@famousamoso7 you’re exactly right at this point it would be them battling against the bank to try to do or change things we could’ve just let it sit in the parking lot like it was when they dropped it off. We didn’t have to double check or do anything but it never hurts to examine your work or give it a double check, which we did and that was different other than a couple lightbulbs. We really believe they thought it was just a drop it off and get back out of it situation which unfortunately it’s just not the case so either the bank will turn it into a repossession and go against them or they can decide to pick it back up. I guess those are currently the options, but we will do an update as it plays out. It’s not comical, but it is entertaining the way people’s mind works these days and even with documentation paperwork and all the effort we went to on this. It’s still frustrating and we’re really not any money or anything other than a little time and effort, the other point I don’t think a lot of people realize is we are fully paid. We do not do the financing so the bank has paid us in full just like a cash sale transaction. The situation currently would be between the customer and the bank.
@@DavisOffRoad1 That makes more sense that your company isnt on the the hook for anything and as mentioned you let it play out and when the bank doesnt get their money they can do what they need to do. Unfortunately, since they have gone from 100 K to 150 to 160 K over the last 3 to 4 years it’s about as cheap as they get that are actually cosmetically and reasonably mechanically acceptable
I have no idea why any of this went past a "as is" sale. You're just dealing with a bad actor. The actual problem here is you bending over backwards for no justifiable reason. I can agree that going the extra mile has value but you have to draw lines, especially when you are absolutely sure that you already went above and beyond responsibilities and niceties.
For those who dont known or understand how this works. You buy a truck with a loan means you borrowed the money to pay it in full. Then you repay the bank according to their terms. Once you drive off that curb , you own it. And are now responsible for the loan repayment. That’s between you and the bank. The dealer has been paid and is off the hook. You’re now in bed with the bank. Unfortunately, when it’s as is. That means it’s as is and your an owner.
Customer dropped it back off. I’m assuming thinking it was going to be returned bank decides to let them out of the debt. We will resell it for the bank at that point out of good faith just to help.
As it says, it would make it a different price point as well as shop time that we do not currently have due to the flow of vehicles so some get sold as is with noted problems

Sadly, it's the world we live in today, it's always someone else's fault and nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions or mistakes. And, even more idiots in the trucking business. Showed up at an incident a while back with a 7 figure brand new rotator to get a guy's trailer who had backed off an embankment because he hadn't set his parking brake. I went through the whole plan of attack to get him out, the time involved and the likely cost, and he agreed and signed off. Once I got his dumb ass out and gave him the updated bill, he claimed I'd told him it would cost $300, which was WAY off. He argued that he was not paying until I played the audio recording of him agreeing to the cost, and showed him the bill, WHICH HE HAD SIGNED. I told him I could call the Sheriff's Dept. and they would sort it out, so he finally agreed after spewing all manner of profanities at me. Sad, but there are a lot of assholes out there.

You’re stupid making a comment like that.

Actually promoted it as perfect frame off restored …. Totally different scenario we could go on for days on trucks like the shitty Squarebodys sold at auction but we don’t want to take over all the TH-cam watchers to our channel only seeing what crooked things and dealings are really out there
It's "the customers are always right in matters of taste". that's the quote, not just "always right"
Agreed
I never knew that well known saying was just part of the full quote. tHanks.
Yeah watch part 2 it explains a little more

Awesome we appreciate you following and we have not done a return nor anything at this moment it’s in the bank’s hands as to where and how they wanna handle it but yes, that would be a mileage or a deduction of value in the vehicle or something to that effect that will take place
No way should you have to take a loss from their ignorance of the phrase as is. I understand you want to try and make it right, at the most offer them to fix the issues and split the cost. If not, it's all on them. I think they didn't really know about how hard the tow industry is to get started.

Let me know! I'm in the towing business and auction business and part automotive sales and I know and we know what you have in it! I'm very very well aware of that truck particular year model and the mechanical issues that comes with it especially with the Allison transmission!
Thanks for the offer. The bank is taking care of it. We are paid in full so they’re going to battle it out.
You should have some honor, courage, and integrity and stop selling diesels with DEF. You selling customers a DEF truck is the scam.
It’s a shame, but that’s very true emissions items are a problem in most cases but good old government says they have to have them so they do

Yesss exactly
Exactly correct great line by line you just ruined my next video details lol

There needs to be customer reviews
That would go over amazing somebody sure needs to invent that
Sounds like maybe they could have stolen some vehicles around your area maybe hauled them back to Colorado. You might want to check and see if there was some vehicles stolen where you live
Unfortunately, we live right outside of Richmond a very, very common area for theft
IF you sold the truck then why do you still have it? Its sold. Tell the customer to come pick it up. Why should you have to do anything for them due to their ignorance?
Just courtesy but also they literally dropped it off and flew back to Colorodo like it was just normal …. Very strange
I was originally under the impression you were just going to roll over and take it back as if it was just "misunderstanding". Glad you will hold them accountable so youre not taken advantage of.
Sorry if we didn’t quite explain it where it made sense but yes, you’re exactly right. They are accountable with the bank currently not us the way I see it. They made a mistake. Every mistake that I’ve ever made has caused me and this one’s gonna end up costing them.

Have them pick it up
They have been informed for them or the bank to do so
I have no idea why any of this went past a "as is" sale. You're just dealing with a bad actor. The actual problem here is you bending over backwards for no justifiable reason. I can agree that going the extra mile has value but you have to draw lines, especially when you are absolutely sure that you already went above and beyond responsibilities and niceties.
NAME THEM. You want them out towing cars they can't even turn on a pto?
So is it your truck again or still their's?
It’s still theirs we are paid in full. They may try to leave it with the bank who knows
