What It’s Like Being Royalty in Modern India: Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Tells Us | Karishma Mehta | Ep 27

  • “Because we’re royalty, there’s that negative perception of us. In the 60s, a few years after India gained Independence, my grand father thought of starting a hotel business. But he was met with a lot of criticism-people thought we’d fallen on hard times, to have to resort to the hospitality business… But he stood strong on his beliefs and his wishes, and that I think is more telling of our lineage than any lessons we learn…”
Imagine a man who is a descendant of the legendary warrior king Maharana Pratap; a man who successfully spearheads business ventures, and is a passionate philanthropist holding seven Guinness World Records for his work-that’s Maharaj Kumar Sahib Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar for you, the Prince of Udaipur.
There’s a certain perception we have of royals-Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar is nothing like that. He holds a PhD in management, runs a legendary hotel empire, is a vocal advocate for social change and plants trees like nobody's business! Behind the royal title is a modern-day changemaker, driven by a vision for a brighter tomorrow.
Join us as he gives us a sneak peek into the life of a modern-day royal in India-from what it’s like growing up in a palace, to a day in the life of a Maharaja; and from the Raja-Praja sessions that still happen to encounter challenges unique to his status. To add to the sneak peek, the episode also gives us a peek into the mind of a modern-day changemaker-you don’t want to miss this!
    We also spoke about:
    His ancestral history
The concept of normalcy for a royal
    Keeping his children grounded
Maintaining the balance between parampara and modernity
    HRH chain of hotels
What drives Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar

I've been to Udaipur. He changed my perspective, his humbleness touched the soul the person who had everything.
Ofcourse, I wasn't able to stay in Lake Palace, bt now whenever can will definitely go just in a hope to know him a bit more.
      Amazing human being he is.

HH Dr. @lakshyarajsinghmewar has been extremely kind to the people's of Mewar. Whenever we visit the city plalace to greet him, he treats us well, listen our hearts and always try to give time. Their family have a huge number of well wishers, if they do cross paths everyone walking on the road will lean their head towards him as a gesture of respect for all the monuments, artificial lakes & all the things they have given to make udaipur reach global. Hat's off to the great lineage ♥️

We are blessed to have such a intelligent, persevering, dexterous, eloquent, energetic, bold, brave king. He's truly carrying the legacy of Veer Maharana pratap singh ji in every possible ways. He's able to endure adversities and firm in loyalty. He's amicable and not excite hatred or enmity in others..such a gentleman. This is how a King should be. It's hard to find such a generous people nowadays. Still people hate many rajput royal families without knowing anything about them. People should look into our real history and not the myths where our people are criticized by haters. Jai Maharana pratap singh ji ki , Jai mewar 🚩🚩

I'm curious and certainly would like to get public opinion on...
His command on his speech with a distinct narrative, polite yet authoritative, pompous yet very humble, wit with elegance.. is a result of...
    A) His rich culture n heritage with immaculate upbringing OR
    B) His extensive education with a world of experience n vast exposure.
The reason to ask is if one wants to aspire to be as good ... Only option B) is worth a shot...😅

No such titles/privileges/post/authority such as prince or king exists by law in today's indeed modern but also democratic India. I'm proud of the sacrifices and rich heritage of our ancient and mediaeval king and queens. We Indian, as a society have evolved and progressed where everyone is equal. In Today's India, there's no one above the CONSTITUTION be it any President, PM, CM or any progeny of respected ancient Dynasty(today assumed as prince). Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

People don't know about three young men from calcutta city, who assassinated british Inspector General of kolkata and dhaka . They didn't have royal blood. Not even have warriors blood. But they still did this heroic act for this ungrateful society. They were Benoy Badol Dinesh. No body knows them. They knew nobody would know them. Because whole martial races (rajput, jatt, khatri) in india were working in british army. As here Lakhsyaraj said ki apki niyat aachhi honi chahiye. Yes he is right. Upper caste north indian ki niyat achhi nhi thi, they were ok with the fact that britishers were subjugating other indians. They faught for british army and police.

The amount of work udaipur royal has gone for local it is beyond your understanding. Till today what ever lakes they constructed is give water and employment to people.

He is right and wrong. His lineage comes from the first Aryan Manu; the Manus of the Germans. Indeed he as a Kshatriya (Rajput) has maintained his pure lineage. With his solid background it is certain his progeny should never break this pure lineage. According to the genuine Bhagwad Gita marriage outside caste is blasphemy. I am a Jat-Sikh and we Jats never tend to marry outside our clan (we do marry Hindu Jats) and also never in the same Gotra. Few persons who have broken this scared law had their progeny become rootless. Some foreigners (we know who they are) are via goodies, materialism or weakness in a family are busy trying to mix Indians since this serves their future agenda in India. India is the most diverse nation on planet earth and its strength is diversity with an ancient culture, democracy, secularism, glued by the thought of Gandhiji. Diversity is there to stay also on this planet since God has made the planet diverse to make it colorful and not monotonous. This family has the blood of one of the greatest genuine warrior on planet earth Maharana Pratap. His spirit has aided India in maintaining a genuinely great civilization. Besides Maharana Pratap was a great Hindu as well no fanatic and his beloved general was the great Hakim Khan Sur.
