I think it's because they can double coupon. Imagine you have 50c off for an item that cost 99c. Double it so it make 1 dollard. So you earn 1c. I think it's now impossible to do this but at a moment it was possible.
They don't actually as they said they had to put the money towards something else. The overage paid for other items. Not they actually got any cash. But yeah in some US stores they can double a coupon (not all) and use them when the item is on sale as well, and coupon was regular price. 10 bottles of pop for 10 dollars, and they have 60 cent per bottle coupon which they are able to double, so getting $1.20 off each bottle, that are only $1, so 20 cents for every bottle they take.20 bucks for 100 bottles as we often see.
If you are buying stuff you arent going to use, you haven "made" money, so the 60,000 number is nonsense. Unless she is reselling and getting some cash for that?

With prices on everything today in 2023, everyone should give coupons a try
To cut the coupon and organize it. Then , go to the store for the items. Pick the right coupon for the sale items.

almost? some of these ladies say they spend like 30 hours a week between clipping, organizing trips, and the actual shopping.
This is why no one can coupon anymore. They restrict everything people do because of those that abused it!
