if I was rich and Chinese i would make my house like the old Chinese houses from movies with new tech of course but it would be so nice to see a real ancient Chinese house rather than just a normal house like they have all around the world

I stumbled across this video while looking for videos about housing in China and Asian countries. It's so interesting to be able to see how large corporations/manufacturers have adapted Western culture and styles into these homes. Seeing as this was posted in 2015, I wonder how it has grown or been doing over the years. These sorts of compounds are not regularly mentioned in Chinese architecture and how it has developed over the years, so I thank you for making this! I enjoy your casual and open-minded perspective!!

it would be much prettier if they were build there houses in there own traditional chinese style. they have such a nice architecture and culture and its sad to see that now days most contractor in china and most of the chinese people prefer to build houses in european/Middle eastern style.

I agree. I blame mostly on the Cultural revolution for the disappearance of traditional architecture/culture, combined with the influence of the West. I heard that Kyoto (in Japan) has a lot of traditional looking architecture from the time when Chinese were influential in Japan. It makes me want to visit there someday.

we're talking about products here that happens to be these houses. producers seek the most profit from selling the houses which means they try the best to meet the consumers' expectations within the government policy.no policy here to push the producer to maintain this area a traditional look meanwhile the consumers tend to buy the western look houses.why not the traditional look ones?another reason for it is that it takes too much.western houses like these have been built for hundreds and hundreds, architects are quite experienced at it that they can design the houses good and fast.the traditional ones are quite in the opposite side.too many risks and cost.after all they are just the way the products should be.

I would prefer to build a unique architectural home distinct of my Chinese culture the "Pagoda Mansion". It's unique and beautiful to me. I'll make sure also that the servants' quarter is nice, comfortable and convenient for them to live in so they are motivated to do their job well.

Surprise to see beautiful western houses in China. In many photos and videos I see most are high rise apartments. Is it common in big cities in China for the wealthy to live in landed houses? Or luxury high rise apartments? What about in Fuzhou and Shanghai, do they also has wealthy neighbourhood like this?

Maybe somewhere on the Mediteranean - but not the US.. For one thing - it's too crowded to the the US even though you might fight similar styled houses in South Florida or Arizona (which themselves would describe it as Tuscan or Greek style). The give away is that it has hills - so it couldn't be Florida... Also it's green - so it couldn't be Arizona - lol

That,s not the point. The point is having a roof over your head whether it,s sm apartment or a house the size of an entire state. Better than being homeless.
Also chinese houses many not have a yard. I,ve never been a fan of yards myself as I have never seen the point. However they tend to have small gardens.
Another thing is the US has less population density so the houses will ne bigger. But to me, bigger is not everything as long as you have a somewhere to live and are not homeless.

Also the population of the USA will hit 400 million by 2050 due to relentless immigration forcing many people into cities. This will increase the population density of the USA and force more people to cities and therefore apartments as the US will not want to lose more farmland to huge suburban developers.
