    Please read this - I forgot to show how you can remove the diaphragm cap and turn it to reposition the port. This helps to make it fit other models of engines for new installs or replacements.

    Great video mate. I knew how to fit a pulse pump but didn’t know how they’d handle pulling fuel a fair distance. I’m running a 212 in a cyclekart and want the fuel tank up front, and now I know it’s possible 👍🏻

    Great video Mr. KENNY. Please let me ask you something, maybe you can help me. I have a 18 hp briggs engine in my van, that runs my carpet cleaning machine. I've taken that fuel pump off and put a 12 v stronger little pump, to pull gas from the tank of the van, on the other 24 hp kohler engine I had, it was running fine, but on this 18 hp, whenever I leave the engine on idle, the pump will run dry and it shuts off. To have it on, I have to always keep it a little accelerated. Any idea on how to fix that? Thank you

    • @housewashing5693
      @housewashing5693  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think your pump is fine. Something is blocking the idle circuit in the carb? Once you crack the throttle a tiny bit the main jet starts pulling a little fuel. This compensates for the plugged idle circuit. I would tear the carb apart spray carb cleaner in all ports from both sides. Then blow it all out.

    Out of curiosity, could you use one of those gas caps with a barb on it and drop fuel directly into the tank instead of going into the carburetor? That would save some time and swearing with all of that disassembly.

    • @housewashing5693

    • @housewashing5693
      @housewashing5693  ปีที่แล้ว

      There was no way to add a 3 way valve since the fuel line was buried under the tank. I had to take the tank off so I left it off. But yes, if you can get to the line the easiest way to do it is leave the tank on and add a 3way fuel valve.
