Everyone sees the whistle notes. You're literally the only one who noticed the 15 second run..
@stephen kost Wow ! I never noticed that ! Jeezuss... but I agree with @Nikhil, Not many notice the long phrase.
It's usually cuz people are still stunned from the long phrase with whistle! But yeah most people miss it. I didn't notice it til the 10th time I watched this. She takes our breath away when she goes into the whistle and then we don't breathe until she's done singing. I think we're impressive too! JK --But seriously she takes my breath away every time!
That's why I like her reactions, She's legit voice expert.
I've only seen one other reactor noticing this, and her. And as impressive that whistle part is, but honestly my favorite part is that long run. It's so incredible

I was sitting here going "when does she breathe?!!!" right as you stopped the video to say the exact thing ... She has sky-size lungs and absolutely amazing control! Wow. Like you, I also enjoyed seeing the different vowel placements (for a moment I wondered if the language she's singing in is tonal, but I believe it is not), and the effortless shifting of jaw and tongue position to accommodate transitions that are different, in some ways, from the ones in English. This human diversity in ability to produce sound is partially why I so love to listen to music in languages I don't speak: the Phonotactics are different and with them comes the (somewhat) unexpected transitions and sound combinations. Fabulous! Morissette's is mastery in motion, even in her tiny mini-wobbles (whew, she's human! yay!) and perhaps especially in how she effortlessly glides on. And then there's that whistle tone!!!! Fun comparison to the ice-skater preparation. Also, loved it that you pointed out the imperfections that make us perfect human beings. Polish is great, but an over lacquered performance can feel ... well ... less 'alive' than a 'live' one (duh! to my stating the obvious ... so I'll end here ... ;)). Another great reaction, Christi! Not sure if this is where to make requests but would love to get your thoughts on another young soprano who in my opinion is quite something. Her name is Amira Willighagen, and she is the young girl who taught herself to sing opera watching TH-cam videos. I can guess what you're thinking but please bare with me here. She won Holland's Got Talent at 9 and the video of her initial performance had gone viral and was picked up by CNN (US news) and commented on (also on TH-cam) as to how this was possible. Then discovered by Andre Rieu (world famous conductor) who had her on stage at 10 where she gave a quite remarkable rendition of ' O Mio Babbino Caro ' in front of 15,000 to a standing ovation. Now at 15, I believe in my humblest opinion, is one to watch. Many incredible performances with millions of views. Would love to get your insightful opinion (on a young lady who loves opera and the classics) and perhaps the chance to comment on genre's that are often overlooked by vocal coach's and reactors. Give Amira a look, don't think you'll be disappointed. If I could suggest .... see .... " Amira 'Nessun Dorma' CIG 2017 " on the grand stage at only 13. Quite spectacular IMHO. Enjoy. (P.S. Sorry for being so long winded) Cheers.

Subscribed for Morissette. I've never seen anyone like her in my whole life. She makes every song she sings as her own. Yet no one can take Akin Ka Na Lang and Diamante from her. Compare her to any of th greats and she will absolutely be right up there or even better. I have no doubt that she will become an international star on a global level soon despite the seeming incompetence of her present management.

The way she sang, you can feel her heart overflows with kindness, emotions and compassion. She is the serenity amidst the chaos of what's going on with the world right now. With her heavenly vocal control, techniques, runs, riffs, range, resonance, register, timbre, squeaks, breaks, cracks, cry, fry, growl, vibrato, tone, pitch, belt, chest voice, head voice, mixed voice and who doesn't remember her divine whistle notes (let's not forget about that) that are all so majestic she can easily sedates everyone's life turbulence and turned it into hope and love and music. She is all, and she is more that's why since before we loved her... beyond measure.. beyond reason.. beyond time.. and we'll still loving her... and we'll always and forever will be.😍

Christi you are HANDS DOWN my favorite "reactor" to my beloved Mori's incredible performances! Everything about your videos is perfect! LOVE LOVE LOVE how you don't stop the video every 20 seconds (you do just the appropriate amount) and the way that you go back after to "highlight" the best parts is so fun! If you wan't a recommendation I couldn't possibly more HIGHLY recommend Morissette's performance at the 2017 "Asia Song Festival" LIVE on a MASSIVE stage in South Korea. She does two songs..."Secret Love Song" by "Little Mix" (will melt your heart) and then she does a "mash up" of "Best of my Love" and Mariah's "Emotions" that will blow your mind (it is BRILLIANTLY arranged). I'm no vocal coach but from my un-trained eye Morissette's stamina in this live performance should be the stuff of legend. She blow's the roof off of the place! Please react to it!

Rise up (also on the Wish 107.5 bus) was the first song of hers that I heard ... tho there are many great ones including this, but Rise Up is still my favorite so far...singing live, one take and that rendition is unbelievable. She is truly amazing!

Another reactor had a meet & greet with Mori earlier this year after one of her concerts and she is as bubbly and sweet off stage as on! She spent at least 15 minutes just conversing with this reactor like they were neighbors their whole lives! So sweet and humble! She still goes home to Cebu to enjoy Monopoly night (the board game) with her family when she gets a chance LOL
You see her preparing her core and her breath just before that last whistle tone. This performance is a good lesson in how to subtly prepare yourself for the next thing you're going to do vocally.

I personally called what she does a "squeak", because it sounds different from a cry that other singers do. I'm not sure I'll ever really figure out how she's doing it!

It's just a vocal break, which falls under vocal fry. IMO, she is doing this to warm up for her whistle notes. Most of her songs where she does whistle notes, you can hear her do the breaks before the whistle. I find them very cute, and perfectly placed!
That squeaking sound seems to be her signature

You were asking what makes great Filipino singers? One of the reason is the Tagalog language itself. The way Tagalog uses vowels and how it is pronounced helps with vowel placement in singing.
And of course the fact that karaoke is embedded in the culture itself.
