Car Advice flew me out to Munich to join Paul Maric and shoot some Alpine pass content. Our weapons of choice were the Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder and BMW's brand new i8 Roadster, we discover some of the best roads in the alps during our 48 hour road trip, that video will be live soon...
I decided to shoot a video with the Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder whilst we were out there, why the hell not right. I drive it down the Italian side of the Timmelsjoch pass.

Great driving brother as always, and another great review with another amazing car. Two questions though, (1) How is its midrange pull 70 mph+, and hows its 140 mph+ pull with that particular spec, if you had the opportunity prior to your run of the hills? Thanks! Charles.

Haha I am a BMW fanboy, but really appreciate all manufacturers than make good cars, Audi's current RS4 is one of the best cars on sale today :-)

I've just spent two weeks driving round the Alps, Europe and the UK on a bit of an epic road trip, with pretty l much the same look on my face as you did going through the tunnels 😁 epic car 👍

The V10 won't live for much longer. Audi has said the next R8 will be all electric.
P.S. I need to go to this road!

It's actually not too bad, its a rapid car but never feels ballistic in Spyder form

Joe, slightly (totally) random question for you, what is your opinion on the 640D Gran Coupé, looking for a stylish 4 door car, hearing really positive stuff elsewhere, but would be interested in your thoughts (if you have any!)?
Hey Shane, the 640D Gran Coupe is a brilliant all rounder, drives and handles better than the 2 door Coupe version in my opinion, also looks better and more practical. Saying that, they are tight for space in the back compared to a G30 5 series etc... Cheers

Yeah man agree, loads of bikers about an hour earlier, waited for near sunset and everyone went home 👌

Honestly, what exactly does the "flex in the chassis" do to the performance on the street? Come on man. That's one of the best cars you can buy, the convertible top does nothing but improve the experience if you're in to convertibles. Nothing!

Sitting higher, less stiffness in the chassis, higher centre of gravity... I can feel the difference with one of my arse cheeks, not sure you could, great keyboard warrior skills though 😂
