Your hair is lovely. I started the mhm about 2 yrs ago and realized there are a BUNCH of cheats. Now I do it during the summer every day and can do the whole thing in 15 minutes. Literally. Skip the acv. It's unnecessary. Pre-mix your clay and keep enough several treatments in a water bottle. Mix 1 ounce of the kc Knot Today with 15 ounces of water and keep it in the fridge - the colder the better. Mix 1 ounce of KC Curling Custard with 1/2 to 2/3 of an ounce of Olive Oil Eco Styler and some type of oil (argan, jojoba, whatever) and 14 or 15 ounces of water and keep the bottle in the fridge. Cold liquids make your curls shine and pop. When you shower, put the clay in your hair, then rinse right away with cold water and shake your head like you are head banging. Squirt the Knot Today/water mixture all over quickly, then shake out the excess. Lastly, put the Curling Custard/Eco Styler mixture in and shake vigorously. Take a t-shirt and wrap in over your hair and scrunch out the moisture. Keep the t-shirt on while doing your make-up, then style and head out the door. You will get better results with cold products. After the initial 4-5 days, you should only be using 1/3 to 1/2 bottle of product per wash, depending on the length and thickness of your hair. You can play with the Knot Today and gel mixtures by adding leave-ins and more or less water. I just use Aquafina bottles and never measure anything. This method works perfectly and quickly for me. The only downside is that my hair doesn't dry thoroughly all day.
@@CocoCove0 Ok. The maximum hydration method can be super laborious and exhausting. This is actually super paired down in comparison. As you know, with natural hair you have to find what works for you.
I tried this about a year ago and I still do it, just a modified version. A VERY modified version. I use bentonite clay with acv and water to wash like 1 or 2 weeks out of the month. Aside from that, I wet my hair everyday in the shower and once done, I use a hair growth oil (Curly Proverbz) and my own shea butter mix on my hair. I henna like every 5 - 6 weeks also. My hair is very fragile due to health reasons and my hair thrives with low manipulation so I wear wigs most of the time. I also steam my hair once a week and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY when it comes to definition and clumping. I can actually see my curl pattern.
Kay Jay this is my exact regimen also, minus the henna. I used to do the full regimen two years ago when it first came out but found my hair got very dry. The clay/acv mix is the most important part to make your curls pop and along with a super light weight/diluted conditioner and steam!
MsEveMarie Cool! It made my hair dry too, thats why I stopped doing it that way. But its soooo cool to know that Im not the only one who like to keep it simple (for the most part). When I do wear my curls, people always ask what do I do to make it look so nice lol
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm lightly following mhm too and I use the Shea moisture JBCO&ACV shampoo as the ACV step and it's great. Clumps curls and removes residue without the wait.
I tried it back when I was transitioning in 2014. The cons: having to use specific (expensive/ hard to find) products and too many steps. I did it every 3 days and every wash day would take about 6 hrs. Way too long!! The pros are it works! I'm so glad it did it for a few months during my transition because it did put moisture into my hair as it was growing out and the long drawn out process taught me about my hair and gave me the basis for a much shorter moisture based hair regimen post BC. Would I do it again?...maybe, if I felt like my hair was in desperate need of moisture. One more negative about this method is something that you probably won't notice until you stop the method after doing it for a while. Your hair will look and feel healthy but your hair color will lighten. I believe that the ACV is what turned my hair a reddish dark brown. My hair kinda looks ombre, like I've grown out a dark brown hair dye on my ends.
This worked great when I first did the cherry cola method. I then continued with the max hydration method for 4 days and it ruined my hair. It thinned out my strands and give me fairy knots all over my head. I never had an issue with fairy knots before doing this method. I have 3c, 4a hair and it pretty much ruined it. The texture of my hair is completely changed for the worse. Yes it looked awesome the first day I did it, but at what cost.I want to cut all my hair off to start again but I'm going to try and work through the damage without cutting it. Hopefully I can save it. Maybe it works for some but I definitely don't recommend this method
Mel Wal For me I'd say hot because I live in the desert and it's dry. If you live in humid areas, do the method when it's dry/cold. Or whenever your hair feel dehydrated and thirsty.
Hi, +TwinGodesses, how do you make your moisturizing flexseed gel? I'm asking you this, because your flexseed gel recipe, is not in the box below. Hope you please answer my question, thanks. :)
baking soda is not your friend.... i did it for 6 months after i got total hydration and did it once a week, love the results, but the price i paid wasn't worth it. the baking+clay strip my hair to the point of weaken strands. that is what happen to me.
naturallyme Same. This is not for everyone. Just had to big chop because of damage. Baking soda is NOT our friend! Accept your texture and work with it.
Dejon Phillips You do all steps in this video everyday for a week. You do the cherry Lola the first day of your treatment. After a week, you just style as usual. 😊

V. S. This was very confusing and all over the place.
do you have a video ?
V. S. Thank you for your details. I guess you are high porosity since you take so long to dry? Or do I have that confused 😐?
This was awesome. I was asking myself if shortcuts was available

gorgeous! it looks exhausting to do. I probably won't be trying it but it's good to know that if my hair really needs it, this can help.
I still do a modified version of this method over the past year and my hair has really thrived.
Tamara what are you doing differently?
"You will definitely feel the same way when trying this method." I'm already asking Jesus for strength and endurance
I think maybe I'll try this for a week or so when I'm on vacation next month. I'll have time to do it then! I loved your end results.
Beautiful hair😍...Great video and commentary! Thanks for sharing!
yaaay curl pattern twin.... great video they are always good!!!

Fantastic results
Great video! Would you say this is a good method in the colder weather?
Mel Wal For me I'd say hot because I live in the desert and it's dry. If you live in humid areas, do the method when it's dry/cold. Or whenever your hair feel dehydrated and thirsty.
Beautiful curls.
Do you use any shampoo? If yes, when do you use it?

Which steps do you do everyday ? Do you do both videos combined everyday or just this video everyday for a week ?
Dejon Phillips You do all steps in this video everyday for a week. You do the cherry Lola the first day of your treatment. After a week, you just style as usual. 😊
TwinGodesses thanks so much and thanks for replying so soon
