Nature IS savage.
Even plants are literally starving other plants of sunlight and nutrients. Unless the other plant can adapt to the spartan (by comparison) conditions, it just dies. If the species fails to adapt, it dies out. And nature doesn't give a rat's ass about that. The evolution gives you a random hand and you either learn to deal with it, or into the trash can of history you go.

I’d argue the first marble being a branch was a good thing. Blue lost the right-hand trunk early on, but it only cost part of their structure. Had red lost their trunk, which they nearly did, it would have been crippling.

This was a really fun one.... I was waiting with such anticipation for red to get that all branch attack as they kept building and building their fruits to astronomical levels.
But the whole time I was scared blue would land that final hit on the trunk and bring it all crashing down

My guess why blue's tree spilt in two is because it first powerup was a branch while red's first powerup was a grow straight. So it grew branches before it even started growing!

The blue just unfortunately have too much attack with "passing all branches" even it doesn't have any more fruits. Blue's attack heavily weakened Red's trunk, it would have a chance to avoid the red's final blow. Anyway nice fight (I chose red's side :)

The function of each type of marble :
-Grow Straight : extends the length of a branch
-Branch : splits a branch into 2 branches
-Fruits : grows a fruit at the end of a branch, will grow bigger when 'Grow Straight' and 'Branch' passes it
-Attack : will throw fruits when it meets fruits, bigger fruits have better AOE damage
-Heal : recovers HP of a part of a branch while it passes by

Ehh, there are some other good ones every here and there as well. Haven't seen anyone else make these as consistently good as MIKAN does but it's sometimes fun to see other people's takes on this kinda stuff as well :)

Call me crazy, but I want to see a collaborative battle. Formulate a set of rules that each channel creator has to follow in their build, then splice the two together and have them fight to see who wins. Not sure if this is possible to implement, but it would sure be fun to watch

This was amazing, for a while it seemed like blue will chop red off 'cuz that first part of red's trunk was pretty weak so there was definetely a chance. But then red got several "fruit on all" and a few "branch all" and that one "release all" just obliterated blue completely, poor twig stood no chance.

About blue: Even though blue grows 2 starting branches, blue loses due to the lack of growth. Also, starting like that makes blue vulnerable after red destroys the branch to the right. Edit: Also, due to the lack of fruit. About red: Growing excessively, red almost loses because the bottom almost is destroyed. But red's fruit helps him win, plus, red shoots all of them.

It helped that red knocked off the split branch too. If blue had been aimed a bit more at the trunk instead of the root, blue would've chopped the whole red tree down, and there would've been nothing to do the carpet bombing.

L-system fight is such a clever idea. Just discovered this channel, I'm both glad to see algodoo still has users (the algodoo forums circa 2009 we're my first internet community) and extremely excited to see what you'll do next.
MIKAN, suggestion:
If you do this again, lock the "branch" thing for a bit. Blue DESTROYED his chances when he grew a branch and not straight. For both to have a chance, they need to have a trunk.
I think the branch saved blue from a few early hits but as the battle continued blue didnt get enouth heal and grow balls to continue the defense
I disagree, blue only survived so long because it had 2 branches and it almost beat red. having an early branch makes your tree twice as hard to kill.
Yeah as we saw with Red it's roots were completely exposed and all it took was some well place bombs from blue to destroy the trunk and red would've been finished. The trunk in Red would've probably needed only one more hit to completely destroy the entire tree. but it's all based on what comes down the chute to determine how it does. If blue got what red had (All branch fruit, branch effect, and then attack) then red would've been the one to die.

It would be interresting to combine this with the Core Destruction mode. The tree could grow as a protective layer around the core.

I think if you do another one of these, it might be a good idea to lock the branch option for the first 20 seconds or so to stop what happened to blue from happening
It might also be a good idea to limit the "Passing All Branches" option to only get 1 ball per pass around
