i think its very interesting that youre always riding individual effort and not relaying or holding position. i basically always hold position with my main rider unless we are going up a really steep climb late in the stage. i also only put one guy in front of the peloton, the AI usually puts all their team in front and on later stages in a grand tour they all blow up while my team is still fit. this way i almost won the tour with johanessen with UNO X on highest difficulty but i cant TT and remco snatched victory on the last stage lol. id say the most important skill when it comes to climbing stages is to conserve your energy as the AI will needlessly go into the red and then you can smash them in the final 5km going at 85 effort and possibly throwing in an attack if anyone is still following.

@@tilmania361 on flat stages or lower punchy stages, I think hold position is perfectly fine. As really all anyone needs to do is focus on their GC coming over the line in the main GC group or equal time of your main rivals.
But a hefty mountain stage - the main GC rider can easily get caught up in a bunch and then other GC riders can attack and cause separation too easily.
Fine tuning effort to save energy whilst keeping an eye on rivals is much more flexible.
And yes, AI can can use their energy way too early. Pogacar attacked earlier on the Bielle and I just sat in 75. And as you see at the top his shoulders are rocking so I knew he was cooked

What difficulty is this? The micro management in all climbs is actually really smart, with the AI doing some weird accleration sometimes it really saves some energy i feel like. Thank you ✌🏼✌🏼

@@Niklasz99 I can understand if say someone like Yates tried to accelerate to try and make the player burn energy and then have Pogacar pull away.
But yeah the AI sometimes burns their best riders instead.
      Hope it helps.

If I understand correctly, you ride the climbs about 70 effort with the main rider(s) to focus on the final climb where you do the previous tactic video?
What do you do in the valley? Maintain position or stay on effort?

      @@arnogoossens3990 so in this ride:
Hindley is being protected by Aleotti.
There’s a small breakaway group ahead but there are no strong climbers in that group
So, the pace I’m keeping with Hindley I know is a pace that is keeping the Peleton behind. I’ll Lower Hindleys pace to a point where he can still lead the Peleton.
If I lower it too much and other riders start pulling passed me, then I know the effort needs to go up.
If a GC rival (in the last 5KM or so) attacks then just be ready with your own GC to select “follow attack”
In the valley or flat sections, staying on effortor maintain is fine but make sure you’re back near the front at bottom of the Col so you don’t have to spend energy on the climb to get back near the lead guys
