this is an old scam, I've seen this for a few years. Sorry that's happened to you. The BEST way to go about avoiding having your steam account potentially scammed is to completely ignore anyone who adds you if you're not already aware of tricks. And don't EVER click links or anything like that.
Not clicking links is really important. Someone I know got his account scammed, the scammer then impersonated them and asked me to vote for game awards on a website. This website had a fake "login into steam" button that steals your account information.
And just so you know, it ain't a new scam method, its an old one in fact. But its somewhat rarely used these days, if it is then its probably better planned IF it is the case
@@EmberTsuji yeah sorry, I figured I‘d make a Video about it since it was the first time I‘ve experienced a Scam attempt, and I asked a lot of friends and they didnt know about it either, so I wanted to make a Video for people that didnt know about it either.
@@NicoGamingChannel Still good that you made a video about this, I got this video in my recommendations and I hope it reaches other people. I've seen this scam before but the more people that know about this the better. Thanks bro.
Yeah but some People might not realize it, when you get scared or you start feeling anxious that you might lose your account you stop thinking straight
Sometimes the scammers will message you on discord instead of steam, if your discord is linked to steam. Its a very old scam, been around 10 years or something
I´m sorry, but why would ANYONE believe that Valve would get in contact with someone over Discord? That makes zero sense what so ever.
Yo thanks for sharing this! I think someone tried doing that against me once but I just ignored them from the start
