Les is a 100 years old, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know him, and marvel at his accomplishments, and listening to his penny whistle and sax.
Hello from Austin, TX. Your father is my idol. Since I was 17, I've been trying to learn how to play this song on the tin whistle like he did back in the day. I can play it similar, but I kinda have the urge to improvise some parts. Someday I hope to move to New Orleans to play my music on the streets for everyone to see. I may not become an icon around world, but I would love to educate others on this marvelous, little instrument. Your father is amazing! :)
If you click on "About" you'll see that it's from a short movie. We were watching tv (AMC, I think?) and were so impressed that we punched the dvr and filmed it directly from the tv. Your father is amazing!
He is almost 101 now, still plays the alto sax and penny whistle every day.

Thanks for posting. Where did you find this? I grew up listening to this music, as Les Lieber is my dad.

TCM showed this "soundie" today as a filler between movies.
It includes a girl singing two songs, but I don't recall her name.
