They are Japanese but they consider themselves a global Hip hop and R&B group (or jokingly X-POP, which stands for XG-POP), their producer has said (twice already) that they are not kpop or J-pop, but since it is your playlist you can put your songs wherever you want 😅😉

I think a lot of people will rethink how they label XG when TWICE's Japanese lineup (Momo, Mina and Sana) releases their song soon since they're still kpop even with just Japanese members. I generally put anything remotely like kpop on my kpop list regardless of what language it's in, but it's not like you have to put songs on only one list anyway.
