Yeah AFL just doesn't have the kind of fans (or a large enough fanbase) to do a neutral site Championship, they'll draw 1-2k fans compared to somewhere like Albany where there would probably be 10k for a Firebirds home championship game.

Fully agree, they need to stop making promises when things aren’t guaranteed. Makes it hard to trust a league that already has a trust issue riddled past. It may be new but it carries the name
Also, as bad as I want the Sabercats back, don’t want them to come back in a league that’s unstable from the get go. Time will tell. Thankfully San Jose has the Panthers for the foreseeable future

I wonder if this league will get off of the ground. Seems to be put together with duck tape.

The Philadelphia Soul being a travel only team is a disgrace especially they’re the most well known franchise from the 2000s

Well, we’ll see what happens. Hopefully they aren’t really a travel team.

IMO I think one of the biggest problems with the new Arena League, is trying to be too big, too fast. It would have been smarter to have a goal of 8-10 teams, especially with only planning on playing a 10 game schedule.

I was a long time fan of the Orlando Predators when they existed from 1991-2016....we won 2 arena bowls (1998 &.2000). The town supported the team well until the league folded. The Predator fans were those who couldn't afford Magic tickets, but loved sports. The team called home The Jungle....and the team came out to the Guns N Roses song Welcome to the Jungle...it was so much fun and quite rowdy. The team made the playoffs 23 times and was one of the most stable ones in the league....as other teams came and went in the league. I hope there will be some stability, but that's hard to believe when so many teams are in very small cities...not sure they can afford travel costs with such small markets. I wish them well.

There are so many questions and red flags. We want it to succeed, but legitimate criticism is warranted. It’s the AFL for crying out loud. They need to be better.
    Great content! Subbed.

Hi fellas. Great channel. Long time AFL fan. First Arena game I went to was Arena Bowl 90. I couldn't tell you how many Detroit Drive games I went to. Followed the leagues the last few years, but now I'm really getting back into it. I will say the one franchise that worries me about the new AFL is Wichita. I started watching old games of the teams still going and I came away unimpressed with them. Great name and logo, but if they run that product out on NFL Network, it's not going to look good. This is an odd configuration. Most all of the well known franchises are east of the Mississippi. It feels like they bit off too much too soon. Especially with how well the IFL is doing. Saddens me that the IFL didn't get the NFL Network deal. Stable and strong ownership, I would love it if Detroit got a franchise with them. Thanks for the content.

How about the Philadelphia Soul with only away games. They have no home games because they have no place to play at this time I checked out various sites and no mention of the Soul playing in Wells Fargo Arena, only Philly venue that can hold an AFL team.

I have kind of mixed feelings regarding the neutral site playoffs. On one hand, I can understand the decision because it could be extremely difficult for the team to book the venue last minute, especially for an upstart league. At the same time, it screws over the fans and there's no way they'll get the same level of attendance as if they had the games at one of the teams' sites.
As far as the Rattlers making the jump, I never believed that would actually happen. The IFL is currently the longest running and most stable alternative football league in the country. No team is going to willingly leave it for an upstart league.
Really, I think they need to stop looking to expand in 2025, and focus on making what they have stable. One of the biggest issues that has plagued the AFL every season it's existed is a lack of stability. They never had two seasons in a row where the teams were the same. There was always a new team joining, a team moving, or a team folding. They need to stop worrying about expanding, and focus on making what they've got last.
