What kind of stone was "the black one" (as you referred to it)?

Hey Rick - I'm glad you noticed that freak of nature - it's a naturally worn down black stone (Onyx maybe?) I can't identify for sure. But it has white layers, and the lady I got it from called them the "black trees." The Chinese (and Japanese) are wild over these "picture" or "scenery" stones that seem to capture some larger dynamic about nature in a beautiful display piece.
