Would have to be Infinite World for me. It always felt like the definitive edition of the Budokai series, with more combo ability and the live special movies helped as well. I could never get over the copy/pasting of the whole Tenkaichi series. It never mattered to me that characters animations are different when functionally they all do the same exact thing, use the same exact button combinations etc.
I freaking LOVE Infinite World! Coming from someone who played Budokai 3, Tenkaichi 3, and Infinite World religiously growing up, Infinite World will always be my favorite DBZ game
I missed 9ut on the Tenkaichi series, but I loved the Budokai series especially Budokai 3. Me & my friend used to play everyday after school. I used to pick Goku & He would pick vegeta & we used to go to war lol...Going from base up to both of us ending at SS4 having beam struggles is something I will remember forever 🥲
Someone forgot that you can actually unlock 'all skills' as a capsule in Budokai 3 that lets you go from Kaioken to SS4 and still having regular specials. Not everyone had it but the characters that needed it had it.
The models in T3 are so much more accurate. I always found it weird that all the kid characters in the budokai games had longer legs, just so it could try to match the height of the other characters lol
raging blast one is better to me in my opinion. the only thing holding it back was lack of characters. but other than that it was so perfect. especially the art style. sooooo good and clean and felt more like the anime whereas the second one felt more like the manga. the second was just a downgrade in my opinion but i can’t blame people for liking it i just wish it had a story mode
wow i love your content i'm glad i found your channel randomly Budokai 3 has better gameplay overall but i think the arena fighter is very indepth for one, usually they are extremely simple. It also has more stages and characters.
I'm actually really glad you brought up super dragon ball z because I've been working on a script for that game and I was worried that nobody even knew what it was lol
@@HiddenChannel super DBZ in my mind is one of the most underrated DB games ever and is right up there with Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 belonging somewhere in the top 5 imho. Perhaps worth mentioning is over in Japan that game still sees a ton of competitive play with clips regularly being uploaded to TH-cam that make you marvel at the depth of the game's fighting system.
I agree with you 100%. Great video, kinda threw me off when I started hearing the shaman king intro when you started the character section. I've noticed you have great taste in music throughout these videos from a wide variety of video games and anime and I quite enjoy it. Wonderful job, I had a good time with this video.
Budokai 3 hands down is the best animated between the 2. Dimps managed to make every movement feel authentic and real. Tenkaichi 3 is the best of the Tenkaichi series but it still looked stiff.
I really wished Tenkaichi 3 really got an HD release alongside Budokai 3 but maybe because raging blast 2 was out but raging blast 2 is not as good as Tenkaichi 3
both are amazing games, though i discovered both around the same time and played both for years, im somewhat like you in here, i lean more towards Budokai 3. But for everyone else, Budokai 3 can still be enjoyed a lot solo in the campaign and dragon arena, but Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is much better enjoyed in the versus with friends.
My favorite from both series is definitely Tenkaichi 2. SOOO nostalgic for that game and it's OST. Budokai 3 is a close second though, and I probably revisit that one more often anyway
I fell in love with both as a kid and played them for ridiculous amounts of hours. I probably put more time and hours in BT3 due to unlocking all the characters, however Budokai 3 offers more extensive post game play and character unlocking through Dragon Arena, the storymode and alternative storymode events are more captivating and the Dragon Rush mode is a blast. I also kinda miss the customization that skills add to the game. I give the edge to B3
The correct answer is infinite world. A significant amount of the roster doesn't even have full move sets in budokai 3. Infinite world took all those unfinished characters and gave them the moves they were missing as well as giving many characters brand new moves on top of their already complete movesets. Not to mention 5 brand new characters Budokai 3 - Kid gohan: no secondary ki blast or super Kid trunks: no super Goten: no super Radits: no super Supreme kai: no super Uub: no super Androis 16: no secondary ki blast Super buu: no super Saibamen: no secondary ki blast Cell jr: no secondary ki blast or super That's 10 characters out of 38 that aren't even finished. Infinite world finishes those character plus adds 5 new characters.
During the tournament too you'll hear different tracks then if you make it to the last match either the tournament or cell games you'll get to hear the track from the opening theme
Where Do You Stand: Dragon Ball Z: Boudokai: Series (1-2-3-I.W.) + DBFZ. Sideways Fighting. OR... Dragon Ball Z: Boudokai Tenkaichi: Series (1-2-3-U.T.) + DBXV 1&2. 3D Fighting. I find both fun since I'm a DB nerd. Edit: Q. Where would that Kinect version sit?
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 its more unique and the better one for me, that doesn't mean that Budokai 3 its not good, but Budokai Tenkaichi 3 its more close to the anime itself from the gameplay perspective.. ☯️
I hate that xenoverse is the definition of wasted potential. It *should* be a spiritual successor to *both* these series, but falls flat on its' face no matter what you look at. It atleast took queues from both customization systems 🤷♂️ z souls basically being tenkaichi's potara + stats like budokai. I'd say tenkaichi's the best tho, just for the gameplay. That said, i'd be lying if i said its' soundtrack could even match budokai's plagiarism 🤣
I will say every dragon ball game has something to appreciate and enjoy about it Even games like sagas Every game has some fun aspects and ideas that I much enjoy But Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 are very close to my heart Alot of people like to complain about the dragon rush in Budokai 3 And while I get their hate for it and the frustrations In Budokai 3 it's very rewarding when you pull it off correctly Especially if you have special beam cannon Or warp Kamehameha I love watching the enemy do a roll fire a ki blast only for Goku to teleport and blast him in the face that is so much fun to see
@@gabrielchastain6091 oh dont get me wrong, you can still have fun with the game. Fun fact in budaki if you fused goku and vegeta IN game Instead of picking gogeta he has both the power of both characters and is SUPER OP… like unbelievably OP
BT3. Both are fantastic but BT3 for me wins because it has more modes and also no dragon rush in BT3. I don't hate the dragon rush but completely not needed in a fighting game LOL
I’m glad you admitted this was bias because as a true DBZ fan first and Gamer second Tenkaichi 3 is the closest you could ever feel to being in the show. Dragon Ball fans wanted Tenkaichi 4 not Budokai 4 or technically 5 because of infinite world. Just sayin but your entitled to your opinion but majority rules.
I totally see where you're coming from especially from the perspective of better fighting game and the other being a better dragon ball game. However personally I'd have to give it to tenkaichi 3 when it comes to choosing one or the other. I would rank them like this Intro: goes to Budokai 3, visually its not a contest however I love both the songs almost equally. Presentation: goes to Budokai 3, though both games are overall fairly even in terms of design, story and character models the soundtrack in Budokai 3 is far superior. Gameplay:Goes to Tenkaichi 3, I really enjoy just playing the game i love the mechanics and all that jazz, Budokai 3 is almost as good and i guess its just a preference thing but boy does that dragon rush get annoying. I know that overall Budokai 3 has the edge but just coz something is better doesn't mean it'll be your favourite.
This was what i hoped to see. I'm one of those that likes a good character roster, but like the setting and feeling of traditional fighting games. The camera panned out to show both fighters and blend with the action. I don't like a fighting game that takes place looking over the player's shoulder. Plus, the gameplay mechanics, especially the visuals of the beam clashes in Budokai 3 seem so much better to me. Tenkaichi 3 does have an insane character roster that even surpasses Smash Ultimate, but half of those characters are just the same character in a transformed state that you can immediately choose. Personally, i don't wanna start a battle as, for example, SSJ Vegito. I wanna be able to transform mid battle. That is what Dragon Ball is. I ordered Budokai 2 and 3 through Amazon recently. They both came, but Budokai 3 was actually Tenkaichi 3. I haven't played it yet and am debating on returning and finding the REAL Budokai 3. EDIT: Tried Tenkaichi 3. Still trying to get used to these weird controls and clunky gameplay and mechanics, but people say it's the best one, so I better stick with it 🤷♂️
I can honestly say budokai 3 was my Heart and Soul When I was 12 years old sitting around bored with a PS2 controller in both hands and just to much time to Kill and nothing else to do!!!!! And I can't remember if this is still true but I believe once you beat the whole game at least once you can explore the open in game world with Vegeta as apposed to just only Goku ❤ definitely gonna try to get back into this game very soon but am overly anticipating Dbz Sparking Zero almost wanted to pre-order it but decided not to just gonna wait until it's release day and buy it digitally on my xbox series X or see if gamestop has the ultimate Edition Disk Copys. Hyped for that Sparking Zero supposed to be technically considered budokai Tenkiaichi 4 but I won't call it that until I relive budokai 3 at least one or more times at some point. This Game was the best thing ever growing up aside from spiderman 2 And Mortal Kombat deceptions open world free roaming Aspects and Bo Rai Cho Fights no games where even relivent.
Tenkaichi 3. The goat 🐐 the one true king Idk why some aspects were downgraded. The cutscenes in tenkaichi 2 were decent ish, but replaced by a R3 click during the battle...I didn't like that. Also a specific combo(move) in tenkaichi 2 is missing in tenkaichi 3 ( full power z dash + triangle + square as fast as possible)
I always felt like budokai 3 was way better than tenkaichi 3 cause of the fight mechanics. It was personally my favorite just because vegeta could turn super saiyan with the scouter on lol
For me it's budokai 3 I remember when me and my brother was on ps2 and played it's all from memories that's why I'm picking budokai 3 I still have disc of it

While I think the likes of Appule could probably be integrated into this slot, I do think someone like Cui should probably retain his own slot.
@@N.i.E.M.O eXACTLY !
So they can leave room for Rilldo, sigma force, Ledgic, gt Vegeta, all Bojack crew, all Bardock's crew, more costumes, more moves, Giving mid Goku his i.t. moves and Saiyan armor, etc.
Man of culture.
This channel should have a billion subs by now what a gold mine
I missed 9ut on the Tenkaichi series, but I loved the Budokai series especially Budokai 3. Me & my friend used to play everyday after school. I used to pick Goku & He would pick vegeta & we used to go to war lol...Going from base up to both of us ending at SS4 having beam struggles is something I will remember forever 🥲
For short tenkaichi 3 is 3d and more realistic, and budukai 3 is like a tekken game,, or dead or alive.. tenkaichi 3 wins
I think these are the best DBZ game review codes I've ever seen! I love your videos. 🥰💖💖💖
😘
Both are amazing. Still to this day i play them in glorious HD on laptop and I'm grateful.
hope one day the devs will learn from both and fuse them together for a remake of some kind
If these two games would fuse it would be amazing
@@HiddenChannel most definitely
sure hope tenkaichi 4 did that huh
@@kusanarakeoto325 sheeeeesh yea
Someone forgot that you can actually unlock 'all skills' as a capsule in Budokai 3 that lets you go from Kaioken to SS4 and still having regular specials. Not everyone had it but the characters that needed it had it.
The models in T3 are so much more accurate. I always found it weird that all the kid characters in the budokai games had longer legs, just so it could try to match the height of the other characters lol
Cap
Played Budokai 3 alot as a kid
And tenkaichi 3 alot as a teen xD
Both nostalgic in my heart ❤
I’ve never heard these more perfectly described than how you put it at the end. Budokai 3 is a better game, but tenkaichi 3 is a better DBZ game.
Even though it's sorely lacking in the roster and story content, Raging Blast 2 is pretty fantastic as well.
Never had the chance to play that one
@@HiddenChannel it's essentially a spiritual successor to the Tenkaichi series. Even has the "Perfect Actions" during battle from Tenkaichi 3.
@@HiddenChannel raging blast 1 and 2 have really fun and clean animation attacks and transformations
raging blast one is better to me in my opinion. the only thing holding it back was lack of characters. but other than that it was so perfect. especially the art style. sooooo good and clean and felt more like the anime whereas the second one felt more like the manga. the second was just a downgrade in my opinion but i can’t blame people for liking it i just wish it had a story mode
wow i love your content i'm glad i found your channel randomly
Budokai 3 has better gameplay overall but i think the arena fighter is very indepth for one, usually they are extremely simple. It also has more stages and characters.
Budokai 3 Wins,It Literally Have The Meaning Of Life
B3 was just a better fighting game to me. The art style and combat system was just better.
How tf the system was better wen u can't even get 100 hits on budokai 3 yet u can get more then a 1000 hits on tenkaichi 3
Great video.
another great DB video, cant wait for Infinite World or Super DBZ if you're ever planning on covering those :)
Yes I plan on covering both of those soon
I'm actually really glad you brought up super dragon ball z because I've been working on a script for that game and I was worried that nobody even knew what it was lol
@@HiddenChannel super DBZ in my mind is one of the most underrated DB games ever and is right up there with Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 belonging somewhere in the top 5 imho. It seems like some of your thumbnail art is even inspired by the super DBZ art style, so I can't wait to hear your analysis of it!
Perhaps worth mentioning is over in Japan that game still sees a ton of competitive play with clips regularly being uploaded to TH-cam that make you marvel at the depth of the game's fighting system.
Crisis Core music and the shot of Gogeta wrecking Broly was not a combination I knew I needed until today
I agree with you 100%. Great video, kinda threw me off when I started hearing the shaman king intro when you started the character section. I've noticed you have great taste in music throughout these videos from a wide variety of video games and anime and I quite enjoy it. Wonderful job, I had a good time with this video.
Personally prefer Budokai 3.... also just want to say love the DR track you used, such a good series/soundtrack
Love the soundtrack, it's my go to for some background music
Budokai 3 hands down is the best animated between the 2. Dimps managed to make every movement feel authentic and real. Tenkaichi 3 is the best of the Tenkaichi series but it still looked stiff.
Song name at the start of video?
I really wished Tenkaichi 3 really got an HD release alongside Budokai 3 but maybe because raging blast 2 was out but raging blast 2 is not as good as Tenkaichi 3
both are amazing games, though i discovered both around the same time and played both for years, im somewhat like you in here, i lean more towards Budokai 3. But for everyone else, Budokai 3 can still be enjoyed a lot solo in the campaign and dragon arena, but Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is much better enjoyed in the versus with friends.
DBZB3 The best of the franchise!
Not to mention 5 brand new characters
Budokai 3 -
Kid gohan: no secondary ki blast or super
Kid trunks: no super
Goten: no super
Radits: no super
Supreme kai: no super
Uub: no super
Androis 16: no secondary ki blast
Super buu: no super
Saibamen: no secondary ki blast
Cell jr: no secondary ki blast or super
That's 10 characters out of 38 that aren't even finished. Infinite world finishes those character plus adds 5 new characters.
Tenkaichi 2 got the best dbz soundtrack of all time 😂🙏🏽
Tenkaichi 3 might win for me just for having a more traditional campaign.
Great perspective these games will go down in infinite history.
Ohh yeah new vid
What is the song that starts at 0:35 during the presentation section of the video? Sounds very familiar
During the tournament too you'll hear different tracks then if you make it to the last match either the tournament or cell games you'll get to hear the track from the opening theme
That last sentence summarised it perfectly. "Budokai 3 is a better game, but Tenkaichi 3 is a better Dragon Ball Z game." Absolutely beautiful
Where Do You Stand:
Dragon Ball Z: Boudokai: Series (1-2-3-I.W.) + DBFZ. Sideways Fighting.
OR...
Dragon Ball Z: Boudokai Tenkaichi: Series
(1-2-3-U.T.) + DBXV 1&2. 3D Fighting.
I will say every dragon ball game has something to appreciate and enjoy about it
Even games like sagas
Every game has some fun aspects and ideas that I much enjoy
But Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 are very close to my heart
Alot of people like to complain about the dragon rush in Budokai 3
And while I get their hate for it and the frustrations
In Budokai 3 it's very rewarding when you pull it off correctly
Especially if you have special beam cannon
Or warp Kamehameha I love watching the enemy do a roll fire a ki blast only for Goku to teleport and blast him in the face that is so much fun to see
@@gabrielchastain6091 oh dont get me wrong, you can still have fun with the game. Play it enough though & you'll be questioning every little thing about the game, especially if you mess around online for a good while. If it didnt have decent customization from the jump & now cast customization, i wouldnt still be playing it
@@mfspectacular the only thing I can't stand is how they charge you money up to half the price of the game to get up to 4 characters and a few story missions if even that when the base game has like so many more characters and story missions
@@gabrielchastain6091 the stupid- never ending amount of dlc for sure adds up in price, but the base game has tons of reskins & useless characters. God goku for instance, only unique thing he's got is ki blast cannon- not even considering how awful his model now looks vs god virginia. Even if im not looking at stupid stuff like that, the game barely has destructible environments. Barely any attacks have impact behind them. Or what about this broken thing; you remember when old kai showed up in dbz & goku "attacked" him? That joke attack he did is the most powerful thing in xenoverse 💀 can stop a 10x kameha in its' tracks & *everything* else without super armor
@@mfspectacular I'm all for adding new characters but I'm not for changing money for them
Especially since they often. Give them already I'm game moves for half of their skill set
When modders do the shit better then they ever could dream of
The models in any games have never bothered me
That's a good point about destructible environments that is pretty bland and boring
Don't even get me started how the Dlc characters are busted and are unfair to non pro players online
Fucking Super broly and ssg Vegeta pay to win having asses
Forgot the difference and now I’m disappointed ngl. Was thinking we were getting budokai 4.
I have a lot of more playing time on Tenkaichi 3 but no Dragonball game can give me the same feeling like Budokai 3
Definitely disagree with the none sense you said about Tenkaichi's opening being stiff and having freakish impressions😑. It was really cool overall. I like both openings
Tenkaichi 3 is the definition of quantity over quality
Budokai 3 va Tenkaichi 3
Chara 0-1
Gameplay 1-1
Grapchis 2-1
Story mode 3-1
Mechanincs 4-2
I agree with the entire thing even the bias this video gave me nostalgia just listening to it. What a way to finish the video
I like recreating the scenes in arcade duel mode in Tenkaichi 3
Tenkaichi's controls "take a bit of getting used to?" They're practically the same as Dynasty Warriors! Hell, here's literally every character's move list.
Basic Combo: AAAAAAAAB
Special 1: Up + B
Special 2: Down + B
Ultimate 1: (With full Ki) Up + B + Z
Ultimate 2: (With full Ki) Down + B + Z
How the hell is that complicated?
Who thinks budokai is better thats crazy like playing a gameboy vs ps2 game way different its weird alot of people didnt know about tenkiachi so they picking budokia based off what they grew up with
Tenkaichi 3 is the greatest dragon ball game of all time fight me.
Okay, I'll fight you
If you wanna play a dragon ball game, play tenkaichi 3. If you wanna play a dragon ball fighting game, play budokai 3
What do you think about infinite world?
I'm still playing though it, I'm planning on making a video on it soon
I feel like in terms of ost, tenkaichi is the one that blows everything else out of the water.
Budokai 3 was my favorite but also think Infinite World which is literally Budokai 4 is great too. Also Raging Blast 2 was a banger.
Raging Blast 2, Budokai 3 and FighterZ are better fighting games but Tenkaichi 3 and Xenoverse 2 are better DBZ games
Budokai 3 hands down, I hated the corner view angle of tenkachi
That was one of the main things that first put me off the tenkaichi series but you do get used to it.
@@HiddenChannel nope never got used to it lol, stopped playing the game after a week😂
@@VermillionThaKid lol I was like that years ago with the first tenkaichi but to be fair giving up on that game makes sense because it isn't very good...at least I dont think it is
@@HiddenChannel I agree!
saame sammmee
Can I marry you? I'm so ready to become a Tier 3 Simp. The shaman king and FF7 music got me head over heels.
Never want to miss an opportunity to use some amazing music :D
Due to you actually saying my opinion verbatim at the end of the video I’m subscribing now!🤦🏾♂️
Budokai is a fighting game with Dragon Ball characters Tenkaichi is a Dragon Ball game
I understand why people dig Budokai and Tenkaichi is hardcore
My brothers would actually play Budokai with me and win some but on Tenkaichi it was different they stopped playing altogether
Personally I prefer Tenkaichi 3 because of its unpredictabilty , but for a straight forward fighter Budokai 3 is also Amazing .
For pick up and play B3 is definitely better but if you have more time to invest T3 can be a lot of fun
@@HiddenChannel True
Fun fact in budaki if you fused goku and vegeta IN game Instead of picking gogeta he has both the power of both characters and is SUPER OP… like unbelievably OP
And im so glad b3 track is on spotify and probably pandora
I 100% with what you said. BT3 is a better Dragon Ball game while B3 is better game in general. Honestly I would choose B3 over the two as well.
Tenkaichi 3. Dragon Rush pretty much annoyed the hell out of me in Budokai 3. It broke way too many fights and I struggle to return to it.
I totally see where you're coming from especially from the perspective of better fighting game and the other being a better dragon ball game.
However personally I'd have to give it to tenkaichi 3 when it comes to choosing one or the other.
I would rank them like this
Intro: goes to Budokai 3, visually its not a contest however I love both the songs almost equally.
Oh yeah dragon rush is so annoying. I swear the CPU reads your inputs on higher difficulties
Budokai 3 is the better game.
I thought the rock paper scissors crap in Budokai 3 made it not very good. I'd take T3 any day.
The goat 🐐 the one true king
Idk why some aspects were downgraded.
The cutscenes in tenkaichi 2 were decent ish, but replaced by a R3 click during the battle...I didn't like that.
Also a specific combo(move) in tenkaichi 2 is missing in tenkaichi 3 ( full power z dash + triangle + square as fast as possible)
Play Budokai 3 for the progression and fighting mechanics. Play Tenkaichi 3 for that fast-paced DBZ dopamine.
I too, wish these games had a baby.
Budokai 3 fangirl
I always felt like budokai 3 was way better than tenkaichi 3 cause of the fight mechanics. It was personally my favorite just because vegeta could turn super saiyan with the scouter on lol
I like the Pokémon music @3:50
So i'm confused why do some youtubers list music and others don't just curious how all that works
Has she covered the shin dudokai series? Would love to hear her opinion on it.
For me it's budokai 3 I remember when me and my brother was on ps2 and played it's all from memories that's why I'm picking budokai 3 I still have disc of it
