NFL players are sprinters (bursts), Rugby players are long distance/marathon runners (stamina). That's the easiest way to explain it without insulting either sport.
That man who scored at 15:28 Paschal Ekeji was a massive talent in varsity cup (South african university rugby) and has just joined the international pathway program to try make it in the nfl. Lets see how it goes. He's about 6'4, 220, and 22 years old. He clocked 100m in 10.90 in his senior high school year. Proper athlete. Shame for me that he is going as he was part of western province / stormers (the club I support) but returned to varsity after his year long injury. But looking forward to seeing how he develops.
Rugby 7's is in the Olympics yes. Much shorter games, and fewer players on the field. The format was specifically designed for something like the Olympics so they can fit an entire tournament into one day. Look up Ilona Maher ... she's a USA star player in 7's and olympic medalist ;)
Sevens Rugby is in the Olympics. This is a shortened, seven-a-side version of the game with 2-3 games being played in a mini tournament. In 2024 France won the gold medal after Fiji won in 2016 and 2020(21). The US women's team won the bronze medal in 2024.
the sevens rugby format is in the olympics. It's a faster game with more space and shorter time. Players are generally faster and no big props on the field. US has a very good sevens rugby team
Um...... you guys have the USA Eagles. Americans need to support their own team. I've always said, if you guys put half the energy from NFL into Rugby - you'd be a tough competitor on the world stage. You guys have fast athletes.
Yes, Rugby 7's is in the Olympics, for both Men and Women. NB: The USA Women's team won the bronze medal!! Fiji won the Men's Gold medal. New Zealand won the Women's Gold.
Rugby XV (15s) hasn't been in the Olympics since the USA won Gold 100 years ago. Rugby 7s has been in the last 3 Olympics. The USA Women came in 3rd in Paris.a few months ago. If you haven't watched any 7s you should check it out. Seven players a on a side on a pitch that is 100 meters long and 70 meters wide. That's almost 1.5 times as wide as a NFL field.. There is an incredible amount of space to run into. Matches are a sprintfest. The halfs are only 7 minutes but believe me the players are gasping at the end. Sevens is a tournament sport. What would be the point of traveling hundreds or thousands of miles for a competition that would be over in 20 minutes? So, a 7s team will usually play 2 to 4 matches in a day. I have been to 7s tournaments that had 64 teams and the whole thing was over in one day... more than 4 games in one day per team.
England fan here but also surprised that one didn't make it, although tbf pretty much any 'best tries' compilation in the last 10 years could basically be 12 mins of Cheslin breaking ankles with ball in hand 😂 big up Kolbe
American football has more injuries because they start and stop so the resilience you talk about is partially because of how the game is played. Even in a scrum, people are not just smashing up against each other. In the Olympics is only Rugby 7s. A normal game is 11s, and Europe, South Africa, and the South Pacific (New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, etc.) are the main players in that game. Kind of like how there is 5s and 3s in basketball.
Rugby Sevens (which is a type of Rugby Union) is in the Olympics. The USA is decent at Sevens but they are crap at the normal 15 a side Rugby. I'm confused, you guys have done a ton of rugby videos, why are you acting like the sport is new to you in this vid? Strange.

Great comment.
I would say that NFL players are individual track and field athletes rugby players or decathletes! We have to be good at everything

Please react to Perry Baker and Carlin Isles, the USA's Rugby 7s stars.
This was a great video. We never get to see tries outside of our local leagues and internationals.
Love your videos thanks guys

Rugby is in the Olympics, but its sevens rugby. Still fantastic

Usa eagles v all blacks is a good video
Very educational about the clever plays a superior team can make.
Rugby is in the Olympics, but in the seven a side version. Shorter games and smaller teams.

Yes, Rugby is an Olympic Sport. But it's 7's Rugby.
Rugby 7s is in the Olympics. Not the normal rugby that we know. 7v7. Great game but 'sadly' most top players are in union
Rugby 7s is in the Olympics. In the rugby 15s the men's US team is dogshit, but the women's team is pretty good.
There is clearly a lack of french rugby, top 14 is the best competition in the word and there was one try from it.
Nah man chelsin kobe vs England didn't make it here😂😂no way

They might have scored first against the Springboks but definitely lost The game
USA has a rugby team. Called the Eagles.
They're crap (sorry, but true).
All Blacks seem to be unable to score LESS than 100pts against USA.
all blacks about 20% better then south africa overall time
