- Brothers James and Edward Mellors run a thirty-strong team who have only 48 hours to break down the entire theme park and pack it up ready to hit the road for the next destination. Now the Mellors have three new recruits...
The brothers will be knocking all signs of laziness out of our hard labourers as they handle huge girders and complicated twisting coaster track onto the trucks and then get it all safely up and running at the new destination in less than 72 hours. They'll be working long into the night and there's only one chance to get it right.
The experience promises to be a rollercoaster ride for the youths, both physically and emotionally, draining their strength and sapping their endurance. But the opportunity to work hard and be appreciated for their efforts gives them a chance to shine.

Total respect to all Showmen and their travelling fairs. I'm from Thornton Cleveleys Lancashire. I grew up with Going to Shaws and Silcocks fairs.
felt all their pain and brought back some fond memorys of working for the Mellors.. great to see how well they are doing..! and a great insite into how much hard work Showmen put into bringing the fair to town.

Id like to do this! I love everything about fairs and theme parks, so as a temp job this seems like it would be my thing.

Must admit whilst growing up in the 80's I used to think it was a glamorous life for the fair....but it's such graft 😮
first firm I worked for and my first real job back ten years ago when I was 16. I did a couple of grounds n quit for college, worst mistake of my life...... rember it all like is was yesterday. since have worked for a number of firms and work mainly round Waltzer's.

Being a traveler a funfair is about hard work the more work the more money anyone who doesn’t even try to work needs to man up

When I was unemployed I wood have worked that hard but after having working normal jobs for 5 years and the last year and a half has been cushy jobs for firms that like I wood not work that hard no more

How long did u travel with them and when was it? Are they all in the family?
@@karenkalasy8251 my uncles brother owns the show. I was there for about a year travelling aroind ireland. It was really fun when we were open but being paid 30 quid a day for 14 hour days and wrecking my back caused me to leave.
Wow £30 a day!! It's back breaking 😢. I've always wondered how quick they pack up and leave and now I know!

the fair company are breaking the law you have to have a certain amount of rest hours between shits
