dude finally someone backs this thing up. I can't tell you how many videos I've watched where they literally show you bars in pro tools that the one recorded with this thing on it was the best one, and the comment section was full of comments saying it wasn't worth it. if you're going to keep it and use it multiple multiple times it pays for itself. the knockoff was not as good. I want this thing. period. you still have to use an additional pop filter with the knockoff!

You just need a stand with a boom for the weight.
With the mic stands without booms there are mics that are so heavy theyll tip any mic stand without a boom so for sure the eyeball can present an issue. You can get a decent mic stand with a boom for about 40 bucks to start.

Does it muffle the sound or increase the 50-600 hz range ?
In my opinion, it increases your mics value period. My mic has a high response at about 600 to 1300 so that is the boost period. Thanks for the support. If you'd like, subscribe to the channel
definitely a factor to consider but if you were to use different mic techniques from how yours is setup would this still apply? and what would the downfalls to those techniques be
In this situation I’d just put a thick piece of foam in between to stop it from dipping down
Shock mount will fix the weight problem.
You're absolutely right because I just got 1 and it did help but the shock mount I have still has that same little screw

Same issue for me. I'm gonna have to drop another $170 on a shockmount that can fit my microphone so if you are going to get the Eyeball, definitely keep that in mind

Bruhh, it's kinda freaky. Before I clicked this video, I was watching a World Emcee rooftop cypher where they used the Kaotica Eyeball. And I was wondering what it was, and there it was waiting between my recommended videos: your review 😅 Last year, I've also recorded a rooftop cypher, but we were struggeling with the mic's because of the wind. So I guess this could be a solution in situations like that :)

@Paye ta Disquette all I did was shop a metal screw at my hardware store and it has worked fine since. Thing is all the screws were aluminum and I knew they'd all still cause that problem so it ended up a ¢.14 fix

Thanks for the review! Quick question! Have you used the kaotica WITH your original reflection filter to further better the recording? Would that work? I already have a sE Reflection filter but thinking about getting a Kaotica eyeball to use WITH my sE together.
Hey. That's a good question that I can answer. The eyeball and the reflection filter wouldn't fit together. Also, it wouldn't effect the eyeball. The eyeball only has an opening in the front and the reflection filter doesn't wrap around far enough to effect it

Is this compatible with an MXL blizzard 4000?
What would you suggest we do before we use the eyeball to make sure that that doesn't happen? Any suggestions?
Good question. I have yet to find that out but a padded room has proven to offer sound treatment and doesn't directly effect the weight of the mic.

What mic is under your Eyeball? I have my SHURE KSM27 on a boom stand and it works GREAT! Been using it this way for over 2 years. THANKS for the honest and very informative vid!

Kangoo Kiddd so what if i’m just starting out and i use a mic and a pop filter and just go in my closet it’s full of clothes i usually record using apple earbuds and it’s very good quality

Just get a new shock mount. There are some that are more durable.

I think Kaotica needs to take into account and make it lighter than it is. That's really simple because there's so many different types of foam. that little piece is cheap...you can get the mic mount off of ebay for $4. wake up dude!
