      When I finally turned my judgemental opinions and viewpoints on myself, I realized what a total hypocrite I was, and how I was brought up not to question or even think about the fact that I was eating the flesh of an animal that our society deemed was nothing more than a product, just merely food!
      And even worse was the reality of the deplorable, disgusting, inhumane treatment and horrific living conditions and the suffering .. oh the suffering these creatures endure and the fear they must feel, how terrified they must be, knowing when death is upon them .. these poor creatures never had a chance, they never knew anything other than a sad, lonely, painful existence ..

    • @Ghazithasoulja
      @Ghazithasoulja 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah they do! Because they don't blow torch or boil the cows and or calfs alive for entertainment and call it a festival before eating them. Because they believe the animal died in sheer agony and distress makes the meat taste better. Atleast not the steak eaters i know. Although the conditions and treatment of animals on farms and slaughterhouses here isn't much better. I do agree with the sentiment of giving up meat entirely. I admire ppl who have the commitment to make that decision. They are good people. Your comparison however was bad. Also, unless you don't own a watch with a leather band or leather dress shoes or a belt or leather wallet also makes you a hypocrite. As the saying goes, "you shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house."

      @@Ghazithasoulja maybe the dogs have it worse but the cows still live in suffering and die horrible deaths. it's all bad and it's not a good justification

    • @Ghazithasoulja

      @@stoplisteningtothestatic7078 How did you come to the conclusion of me trying to justify it? When I clearly said ''Although the conditions and treatment of animals on farms and slaughterhouses here aren't much better. I do agree with the sentiment of giving up meat entirely." But if those cruel acts are carried out for a specific benefit more ppl would be prone to do it and do it more brazenly especially if it is seen as a festive occasion. Imagine the pigs who were in a grotesquely inhumane fashion were suffocated and their organs incinerated through this machine used by pig farmers here in the U.S. to be seen as a festive occasion or entertainment while believing this cruel act makes the meat taste better. Ur saying maybe that'd be worse??? A healthy dose of skepticism is fine but comeee onn...no need to be intentionally thick.

      @Tyson MMA Killing animals to eat their body parts (which we don't need) is definately cruel. Why would anyone try to excuse such obvious atrocity?
      Do you believe that peeling a carrot and stabbing a pig in the throat cause similar amount of pain? Plants don't have the necessary anatomy to be conscious and sentient. But animals sure do!
      And then of course an omnivorous diet cause far more harvesting of plants (since animals need to be fed for months before slaughter) than a plant based diet or a vegan diet, so your argument is logically flawed even if we were to consider plant life.
      Stop with the excuses and start to look at the alternative!

      @Tyson MMA You bringing up supposed "intelligence" in plants as a valid argument to discredit veganism just makes you an even bigger hypocrite, because:
      1) Either you really care about sentience (animal and supposed plant sentience), and by that logic you should go vegan instead of making excuses.
      2) Or you don't care about sentience, and by that logic you have no reason to make claims about supposed plant sentience to try to make vegans look hypocritical, because vegans have a far less impact on the world that an omnivore dieter.
      Anyway, being alive and being intelligent is not synonymous to being sentient. Good try though, you walking Dunning-Krueger-effect.

    Best rant to date, 100% true, however 0% effective in creating meaningful change. What is driving this is demand, which comes from culture and tradition. Think, Christmas (excessive consumption) Thanksgiving (gluttony & turkey genocide festival), Easter and Halloween (sugar and high fructose syrup binge) New Years ( alcohol binge, disturb the peace, drive drunk riot). Get the picture? All my adult life I have refused to participate in this corporate conditioning, we call “The holidays” wondering when the mass boycotts will begin, but they never do. Like mindless zombies we allow our corporate overlords to dictate; what we eat and when, what we spend money on and why, how and when we come together to celebrate and under what pretense. This forms the foundation of our acquiescence, to the whole agenda of control. News flash: you don’t have a “Birthday” every year, it is just the anniversary of your date of birth, “how perfectly god dam delightful to be sure“ - R Crumb. If we want to get serious about the issue of factory farming, we can start by acting like adults, and stop this ridiculous practice of awkwardly regressing to an infantile mentality annually, where “It’s our special day” and everyone is expected to shower us with gifts and attention, and cater to our every want.

    • @Ghazithasoulja
      @Ghazithasoulja 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about how treating each other better would make us treat animals less poorly. I think we just don't care about them and their suffering. Also, the lack of accountability and punishment both by law and from society for mistreating and cruelty towards animals has something to do with it as well. All life has to matter or no life can matter. Taking a life and inflicting suffering can only be taken seriously if they are considered wrong on principle, not by preference.

    I was in the commercial egg industry for over 30 years and a 2 week water withdrawal would easily kill the entire flock if you did that. I molted birds from time to time and never withdrew water or feed once. You just change the feed to a corn, soybean hull and limestone based ration. Essentially what you're doing is putting them on a diet for a month or two. I wish people would understand that. It's illegal to withdraw feed or water.

    My family lived in a small farming community in the 40's and early 50's. Our farm was the source of veggies. We had fresh eggs. Chickens with clean cages. Our cows were in our pasture so were grass-fed, supplying our beef and our milk. Summers were spent picking fruit at the local orchards. Jams and jellies and canned or frozen fruit were winter-time treats. Our fresh fish was trout and the fishing was good. Mega agriculture makes me shudder. Will never know farm life again or the never-ending fun of being kids every day with freedom to ride horses (after mucking out the barn) and never worry about anything but being late for supper. Corporate America pays well today. It has to with the cost of living. But we were never poor or felt deprived. And we were healthy. Progress? I'm not too sure of that.

      most of the video wasn't even centered on animal cruelty, he said "do it for us, humans because when we lock animals up we become the prisoners" His main point was that animal agriculture causes zoonotic diseases & antibiotic resistant superbugs leading to pandemics or antibiotics no longer working. He even said "don't do it for the animals, do it for humans".
      However, a lot of people care about animal cruelty, it's why this channel you're watching exists. It's why millions of vegans exist and do animal rights activism. It's something that Leonardo daVinci was writing about, something that some Buddhist monks have practiced for centuries. A lot of people DO care about animals.

      @@bifurioussiren if people actually cared we wouldn't have mass imprisonment and slaughter of animals in our factory farms. maybe 1 out of 1000 are vegans. nobody in power cares what such a small minority thinks.

      Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow-creatures is amusing in itself.--James Anthony Froude
      Also never seen a zoo in the junlge where animals keep others locked up for entertainment and haven't seen a bear kill a cow to make belts, shoes, and wallets to match their outfit. You should try to think about things before spouting moronic opinions about them. Becuz ur comment is painfully idiotic.
