This is my go to product. It's a out as close as you can get to an oil based without actually being an oil based. I have fairly stubborn hair and I find that most gel water based products just stick to your hair where as this one coats your hair if that makes sense. It makes the hair heavy so it comes easy similar to having water in your hair where as most gel based pomade make it sticky and stiff.
I do slick backs/side part styles and this is one I have on hand all the time. I like to use Black and White Pomade on day one and follow up with this product. That extra wax from the Black and White gives some extra hold that I really like. I use this as a stand alone as well. Great product.
Just got this and as you say here you Get shocked at How easy it is to wash out cause when its in your hair this does not look or feel like a WB, its just like an OB, i do more office/cary Grant low style so i prefer medium to low hold with high shine and this is perfect and it holds shape a whole day for me almost without restyle through out the day, deffintly going to run through a good amount of this!
Awesome review, decided to pick up a travel size layrite supershine to try out and I definitely don't regret it. It's perfect for what I'm looking for, I really enjoy the shine it has, and it smells really good too. Do you do anything special to your hair before applying it? Yours seemed to be a tad bit shinier. I'll have to pick up a full sized tub of this cream, definitely gonna be replacing the American Crew Pomade I'm currently using for a while.
Great review man! Love the Layrite a lot, but I’ve seen this product in my brothers hair and I’m not a fan of the artificial looking shine it gives, do you think their other shine products are any better?
Great video danny I’ve never seen a water based pomade as shiny as this one I can see it’s good on its own but would you say it would be good as a topper
The Squinty Show great I’m not really a big fan of water bases cause I like more of the traditional oil based Products but I like the look of this one though you might like VO5 styling wax I’ve been using it for a while and it’s working for me goes in easy comes out easy shiny and cheap lol as always danny great video mate
Tried this, love the slickness and shine but the smell is not nice. Far too strong and it gave me a headache. It has a really heavy scent of Vanilla and Violet and kept getting wafts of it. Much prefer cologne type smells. Shame because the product itself is good.
The shine of this product is the best I've ever had, the thing is, the SMELL is soooooo bad and so strong, it's bad enough for me to not use it.... It smells like rotten vanilla cream.... It's incredibly strong and it's just a horrible scent... The scent alone was enough for me to throw it in the trash... It's a shame because the shine was so great too. But I couldn't stand smelling that crap all day long...

Yeah, Layrite's signature scent is old fashion cream soda. i.e. a vanilla-caramel scent.
Nice vid. Thanks for reviewing this.
As a Brylcreem user, this feels much more like pomade than cream for me.

What is your current favorite hair product? I just threw away an almost full tin of Johnny Sheen, because it would make my hair split in the back.
Hey man , can you use this as a topper for heavier/ waxier oil based pomades that aren’t that shiny ?
Cheers !

Charles Tedeschini Nostalgic Grooming's Super Water Based gives a nice shine that doesn't look wet
The Squinty Show thank you
Hey, great video! Whats your go-to favorite hair product?

Ordered this today, excited to try it.
Update tried it today and it was amazing. It felt so sticky which I love and held its shine all day.
how many scoops would you say to use for a lot of shine?
Chad Johnson One scoop already has plenty of shine, that just depends on your personal standards on how much shine is sufficient

Nice hair. And your voice flew down a whole bunch of keys.

Maybe it has an equal amount of water and lanolin in it.
Bertold Roux Good point
