I did a lot of hunting with my bows. The strongest bow you have is the way to go.
At Hateno I would change Blue jelly and turn them red or yellow with my bows and arrows to double their value before selling them . I'd use my fire and shock arrows to change them.
Use a stronger bow to kill a critter.
