In this lecture, I have discussed the Enolate Synthesis from different reagents with mechanism. I have also discussed two MCQs during this discussion. The reaction intermediates or enolates, could easily be trapped by ester or silyl enol ether formation. Furthermore, depending upon the nature of base, prolong reaction time, thermodynamically controlled product (TCP) or kinetically controlled product (KCP) could be obtained. I believe such kinds of question-answer discussion may be useful for exams like BSMS, GOC, B.Sc, M.Sc, CSIR-NET, GATE, IIT-JAM, BARC, BHU, DU, SET, CU, IISER, NISER, NIPER, IISc etc., or bachelor and master degree equivalent exams in chemistry. This was analyzed by an excellent book of Organic Chemistry by Bruice in 2010, with its p_o_t_e_n_t_i_a_l_ c_u_r_v_e_s (of Gibbs Free Energy, I suppose) of the thermodynamic and kinetic products related also with the pKa. Excellent that this is explained for enolates in this video.
