Followed this video and installed a 2 TB HDD to my HP computer. It was so simple, I kept reviewing my steps to insure I did the installation correctly. Fired up and initialized disk. All done in less than thirty minutes! Thanks UberGeeks.
Hi: Where does SATA cable from new drive connect to MoBo? There is one slot with a cable at end of NVME SSD that came with computer and has one end of a SATA cable plugged into MoBo and the other hanging empty plus there are two empty SATA connections on MB.
I have a question, can you please test the voltage of that purple wire in the small inline connector. It should be easy by putting one side of a voltmeter on the pin of the purple wire and another on the black wire next to it. Please tell me the reading, if it was 3.3, 5 or 12 volts?
How long does the SATA cable have to be for an HD mounted on the chassis wall (not in the drive cage)? 8 inches or 12 inches? Also, is a right angle to straight SATA cable better? Thanks!
I'm looking at a TP01-2347c which is probably similar to this. It comes with 256TB SSD drive and 1TB SATA HDD pre-installed. I'd like to add a larger drive -- like an 8TB SCSI -- to it. Is there room for a third hard drive and will it accept SCSI?
At 5:10 look at the holes on the bottom of the silver cage. 3 of those holes are spaced perfectly for a 2.5 in drive. You can put a regular 3.5 on the top and mount a 2.5 on opposite side. If you want to do this though, you won't be able to use the optical drive, and you need to mount the 2.5 in drive first since you need to screw the holes from the top of the cage. If you want to continue to use the optical drive then there is another option. At 4:34 there is a large open space between the power supply and the front of the case. If you remove the front panel as shown in the video, there are holes in the case that will allow you to mount a 3.5 or 2.5 drive behind the front of the case.
@@lumiereeclair Thank you. I want to install an additional 2.5 drive. Will it require a bracket to install it in the space between the power supply and the front of the case?
@@charlescadogan8504 No you don't need a bracket. At 5:14 below the silver hard drive cage and across from the power supply, you can mount the 2.5 drive. You will have to mount it behind the front of the chasis.
@@lumiereeclair This is what the foreign service/upgrade document for my TP01-2x seems to show. But it must be 2.5" there, 3.5" won't fit there. I had to put my 3.5" upside down on the tray as shown. Very tight fit.
@@UbergeeksBiz I bought ram with the same specs as the Samsung ram that came in it. The Samsung ram ran at 3200. No one has figured out why the same spec ram runs at 2667.
@@lumiereeclair my newer TP01-2x Ryzen 5 system came with 12GB DDR4 3200 DIMM ram. I raised it to 16GB by replacing the 4GB board with an 8. Seems to run at the full 3200 (actually shows 1600 on some screens but I assume it is correct).

Thank you very much! I was able to install my hard drive from my old computer into my new HP Pavillion thanks to your video!
Perfect A-Z directions. Thank you very much!

better to go with 12 inches. L or straight is fine. it does not matter
@@UbergeeksBiz Thanks for letting me know, and for posting your very informative video.

I have the prebuilt with the Ryzen 5 4600g and mine came with a package of screws for that.
Ok so to be able to add the hard drive I will need to order the screws, the hdd drive of course, and the screwdriver correct ?
correct

No SCSI. There are 3 SATA connectors on the motherboard and a power cable with 2 connectors on it dangling inside the case.
Awesome video. Very helpful as I went through this process.
Is it possible to mount a 2.5" SSD into the same bracket without some sort of adapter?
You can Jerry-rigged by putting one screw to hold it. It will hold...

Did the ram you bought run at 3200mhz? The 32 gig of 3200 ram I bought runs at 2667.
8gb ddr4 2666mhz
