Pretty sure the expected value of playing ooze first is higher, considering the very marginal decrease in discard odds for the clear (like 1/7 to 1/6 or something)

I assume you mean with the minion? The minion has "Windfury" which is the mechanic that allows it to attack twice. His hero (Reno) only attacked once.
