When the player choses to "rebuild the commonwealth", there's hardly any work to be done. Just claim all the settlements and done. But this mod brings so much more meaning to that phrase. With kinggath and his excellent development team, I can TRULY rebuild the commonwealth. Cities of wood and steel, booming trade centers, save havens from the horrors of the wasteland, a place settlers can call their own home. This is truly one of the best mods in Fallout 4, if not in eternity.
I guarantee you that the functionality of Sim Settlements will not only make an appearance in the Fallout but you will have to pay extra for things like "Industrial Revolution" and "Rise of the Commonwealth".
Just had to add to every single person who was/is involved in sim settlements in any way or capacity or any and all the add-ons thank you I LOVE what you are doing
I just can't understand how 5 people could dislike this video, what on earth is wrong with it? Anyway keep it up King, words can't describe how amazing you and your team are. This mod has truly enriched my enjoyment of fallout 4. Thank you for this incredible experience.
Dude, thank you so so much for this. I'm someone who plays a game way too long and this really helps keep it new and interesting. Wish I knew coding so I wouldn't be such a consumer and could get involved with the project, it's very exciting. I hope Bethesda keeps their eye on you and your work. They need someone like you (and your team). Lots of love and soon money! $$$
When I bought FO4 I was originally going to get it for PC, but when I found out they were offering mods on PS4 I got that instead, only to find out that all the best mods were PC only. So I put FO4 on my Steam wishlist and when it went on sale I bought it with all the DLCs, only to find out that my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements. So now I'm saving money for a new computer, specifically to play FO4 with this mod. I'm really looking forward to it, probably more than is reasonable for a so-called grown-up.
Damn man that was pretty stupid. Really man. Of course all the best mods are on pc(nexus). Of course all of them wont port over to console. And of course ps4 perfprmance is worse than xbox. U just wasted a lot of money. Hope u have a good job. No worries tho ive wasted a lot of money too. Cheers mate
I remember reading about this mod I think before it came to Xbox or maybe it had just come out anyways back then it was no where near as flushed out but man I installed fallout 4 again just to play through sim settlements as later on a conqueror play through. I told several of my friends about this mod hope they try it out. Anyways thanks so much for all your guys dedication to this master piece
will this be integrated into the nuka world system sometime down the road? I think it finally makes the most sense with this patch that early on in the game you leave them to do their own thing, and only come back later when you've gone all raider to find them all built up so you can now intimidate them into giving you supplies
It theoretically will work already - if people find bugs with it that I can fix easily, I'll definitely do so. Otherwise, large DLC integration is something I won't be doing until late into the life of the mod (still have a lot left I want to do).
will there ever be a option to make settlers whatever faction u want for a town? would be cool to role play a settlement war like minuemen vs gunners ext
I wasn't sure where to direct this, but I did have a question about residential lots. I know that, the ways things work right now, if you want to build a residential plot, you need to make a power line run to the house lot so that it can be built. What I was wondering was whether it would be possible to design a residential plot such that, on the roof, a wind generator is built. That way, instead of the normal -1 power cost, the plot provides +2 power. In fact, if you could build a house plot that way, you could build the homeowner's job plot right next to their home, power both, and still have an extra bit of power going into the grid. I guess the only real concern would be in a case of a one-story home being upgraded to two stories; that would necessitate a temporary lack of local power. Thoughts?
You could definitely do that! Check out the Builder's Toolkit, has everything you need to go from "Never modded anything in my life" to a full add-on pack release! www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22808
You made settlements something I would do... which still isn’t much... but before I would literally not even do ANY of it... the most I did was just for the main quest and for the raiders for nuka world... besides that also the little bit I did for red rocket... thank you for this mod you are like actually the settlement maker god
Do we need to donate things like wood and other building materials directly into the city management desk or can we just dump them into the normal workshop bench and they will still use it?
Either will work for the scrap - the percentage meter might only show the donated supplies at the moment (will get it sorted in a patch), but they will definitely use junk in the workbench as well.
i had my main base in sanctuary but after they built the town all safes were gone. Are they removed completely or just stored in someplace within the sanctuary?
I love your mod! I think your Idea of letting the player explore while the settlements builds itself is really creative. I have one question: is IT possible for me toch assign certain settlements to food production, scrapping OR selling? So i van have Them linked up with provisoners? If there already is a form about thuis, a link would be appreciatiated! Anyways, amazing mod!
Question: do the settlers make use of assets from Industrial Revolution if you have both expansions installed? I'm under the assumption they do, but I just wanna make sure.
We wanted to make sure that players who didn't have room for Industrial Revolution could make use of the new system, so we opted to not include the advanced industrial in the builds. The system definitely supports them though, so when the City Builder's Toolkit is released, players will be able to add more city designs that make use of them. You're also free to swap out any of the plots the settlers build for Advanced Industrial plots or add additional plots to the settlements and your replacement plots will automatically work toward the city upgrade.
Thank you for the clarification. You and your team have made Fallout 4 so much better for folks who don't particularly enjoy building settlements from the ground up piece by piece. Keep up the amazing work!
I guess this clarifies why none of them build water structures. Will you add a basic well structure to the mod that grows over time like the rest of the plots, or should we just make water structures where we think they won't get in the way?
Ok I got as far as allowing them to build by themselves and they began. Partway through they stopped. None of the buildings are complete, and no one is doing anything. I've waited 15 in game days, and cancelled their happines requirements. But nothing is happening. Wtf?
so id assume you use this on settlements you dont want to be your main one? cause say i build a house its my home its amazing and then i do normal sim settlements around it thats now my town, id assume if i used this for the settlers auto building a city its gonna ether clash with my house i built or they will destory it and build there own stuff?
Correct. If you want to build with the settlers, let them finish building and upgrading to level 3 first before you contribute. Otherwise, save the settlements you want to design by hand for yourself.
ok awesome good to know cause in my playthough i havnt built up any settlements but sancturary and its got a big ol wall around and and everything. so id keep that away from rise of the commonwealth and simply use this dlc on the other settlements.
If you're on PC, this is a good sign the mod wasn't installed correctly. NMM fails to copy large files all the time. There are steps here for a manual install which will fix this: simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=Install#Manual_Installation If that doesn't work, make sure you are on at least version 1.9.4 of the game client. If you're on Xbox, check your Mods -> Load Order screen and make sure you have SimSettlements.esm and that it has a check mark next to it. If so, try a different character and see if it's just a save file issue - if not, you might have some other mod that's messing with Sim Settlements.
Maybe could you do a video on converting saves to 3.0? I tried updating my save to 3.0 and it is not working as intended. Do I need to self destruct the old mod for the new to work?
Hey king Gath alot of me and my friends was wondering i do know ALOT of people have trouble building arenas is it possible for a patch to where settlers will build their own ? Or would that be way to complex .
kinggath honestly , that's exactly what i had in mind lol ! The arena pads suck badly also now I'm not sure if its this video or not ? But since i got you here on my comment for the interior plots will those be automatic too through this mod or do we HAVE to place them inside ?
Can someone help me I have sim settlements updated and I have rise of the commonwealth installed I cannot build anything and there is no list of building plans nothing is building ?
Well it might make things look bad - but the build will still continue. If it was one of the buildings that is normally scrappable without mods, refreshing the city from the desk menu will restore it.
Hey I’m playing on Xbox and I’m wondering why my hud thing isn’t showing up everything else works fine aside from the hud thing in the bottom left isn’t showing
You'll need either the Three-in-One version of Sim Settlements, the Rise of the Commonwealth expansion, or some community City Plan mods to gain city plans. Since Xbox is heavily limited on space, the mod is compartmentalized into expansions with City Plans being part of Rise of the Commonwealth.
need a complete tutorial because the mod is bugguy , we can't choice a leader, the settlers don't build anything,... and the administation study is bugued :/
I'd recommend you install this mod before you start a new game. Adding it to an existing game might work, but you're definitely gonna get problems. Start a fresh game.
Is there anyway you could integrate HUDFramework into the main Sim Settlements mod? For some reason on PC I can't see the HUD with the needs (water, electricity, food, etc.). I'm using the "Mods" feature on Fallout 4's main menu to download Sim Settlements. I also don't see a version of HUDFramework by you on the Mods page. Any ideas?
Jonathan Nobles Hey Jonathan, HUDFramework is already integrated with the main mod. Try disabling HUDFramework, load your save, save it, and then exit and re-enable HUDFramework. If it doesn't work after that try messing around with your load order. As well for future references or if you're still unable to see the needs meters, please head to our forums at www.simsettlements.com and post on there, thanks.
L2K_Perma So on PC, when you download and enable "Sim Settlements" it should also download and enable HUDFramework? Do I disable HUDFramework in the City Manager Holotape?
Jonathan Nobles I guess I misunderstood what you were saying, it's not integrated such as that and to be quite honest I don't think it ever will be, there's not really a need to have it be directly integrated. Especially when some people have an issue between the two mods like we have before where one would need to wait to enable HUDFramework.
No, everything is self-powered. If Bethesda ever adds functionality to allow wiring through code I'll change it to actually run wires for you, but doesn't very fun to have to try and hunt down all of the connectors.
So cool man. Did Bethesda hire you yet? Maybe Fallout 5 or Elder Scrolls 6 or whatever the same will have this feature. For now just do it as mod to test method and fix bug many will gladly sacrifice their console (me included) for this feature fully complete for new games.
Check the supply safe on the City Planner's Desk, they may need to collect more scrap still. You can either wait for them to collect it, or donate some yourself.
There are add-on packs you can download that allow other NPCs to be leaders. If buildings are spawning at weird angles, something is wrong. You can refresh the city which might fix them, but in general, that should not be happening.
It definitely works on Xbox, we have a very big Xbox player-base. If you'd like help troubleshooting, head to simsettlements.com and give some specifics of what you've tried on the forums.
I love your mod thanks you al fore this graet mod Now the best settlement bilder out there is "ranger dave " must see his you tube channel olsow he makes mod Maby he can at som 2 you team

Man Kinggath, I'd be very surprised if Bethesda didn't try kidnapping you and your team for their next Fallout Title.
I guarantee you that the functionality of Sim Settlements will not only make an appearance in the Fallout but you will have to pay extra for things like "Industrial Revolution" and "Rise of the Commonwealth".
#complement
Especially considering fallout 76 is now announced, and the teaser mentioned "you must rebuild"
Hope Kinggath would be involved in elder Scrolls 6. And Im PRETTTTY Sure that the new Elder Scrolls will have this kind of City Builder as well.
Oh, this comment has aged poorly
I LITERALLY CRY AND SCREAM WATCHING THESE VIDEOS, A GROWN ASS MAN! :O
I love the overshot that happens when the building starts :)
Jackal Carmick it must have bugged for me. I just flew off in some direction but eventually came back
My Mind ever time this happen : "A Whole New World, A Whole New Settlement for me to Build. "
Every time I get bored of FO4, Kinggath puts out a new SS update that gets me right back in. Thanks so much to you and your team!
Just had to add to every single person who was/is involved in sim settlements in any way or capacity or any and all the add-ons thank you I LOVE what you are doing
You deserve the title "King"
I know I'm not the first to say this but, this is what the settlement building should have been in the vanilla game. Amazing!
I just can't understand how 5 people could dislike this video, what on earth is wrong with it?
Anyway keep it up King, words can't describe how amazing you and your team are. This mod has truly enriched my enjoyment of fallout 4. Thank you for this incredible experience.

that's true
this groups of mods are the BEST F'N mods ever made for this game TYVM

Mike Walterich get Xbox and you can play it, and it's cheaper
Did you miss the part where he said _"only to find out that all the best mods were PC only"?_
Damn man that was pretty stupid. Really man. Of course all the best mods are on pc(nexus). Of course all of them wont port over to console. And of course ps4 perfprmance is worse than xbox. Did you ask norespawns? I know he’s ps4 but that bearded British fellow is a true master and has an eye for detail
This really is phenomenal. Thank-you to you and the team!
Props to the whole team for this!

Happy New Year Kinggath and fam!
Love it! Thank you for your hard work (and your team!). Can you add an option to remove build limit?
Love your freakin mod man, i literally cannot play F4 without it!
Bless you and the team.
I wasn't sure where to direct this, but I did have a question about residential lots. I know that, the ways things work right now, if you want to build a residential plot, you need to make a power line run to the house lot so that it can be built.

You could definitely do that! Check out the Builder's Toolkit, has everything you need to go from "Never modded anything in my life" to a full add-on pack release! www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22808
MOST important question: Can I have ONE spot for me in the city (like our home in Sanctuary) that the NPC do not will touch?
You made settlements something I would do... which still isn’t much... but before I would literally not even do ANY of it... the most I did was just for the main quest and for the raiders for nuka world... besides that also the little bit I did for red rocket... thank you for this mod you are like actually the settlement maker god
The auto cities? What settlements, besides starlight, will they not work with?
Does anyone know where the desk for sanctuary is placd after construction? I can't find it to save my life !
How do you un do a settlement?
Can you make a video on the vault rev version and explain it
Do we need to donate things like wood and other building materials directly into the city management desk or can we just dump them into the normal workshop bench and they will still use it?
Either will work for the scrap - the percentage meter might only show the donated supplies at the moment (will get it sorted in a patch), but they will definitely use junk in the workbench as well.
Alright thanks for the answer and thanks for making this game playable again.
Would it be bad if I had rustbelt flora on please let me know cuz I really want to download SIM settlements three in one please let me know if you can
Sounds like a lot of good vibes with all this. Happy 2018.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows if simple settlers is compatible with this series?
Is scrap that settlement a stable mod to use with all the sim settlements series? I ike it for remiving grass and scraps
i had my main base in sanctuary but after they built the town all safes were gone. Are they removed completely or just stored in someplace within the sanctuary?
All of the container contents and loose objects get place in the workshop workbench.
i had a safe which i had every champion's item but in the workbench the weapons tab is empty
Does this work with the industrial revolution plots?
My game is having a hard time with removing the plots I've placed before
Thanks for this wonderful mod. I think I will be having a lot of fun with the new expansion :)
I think I'm doing something wrong. I set up the City Planners' Desk, assign a leader, and don't get a confirmation. Is there a step I'm missing?
Make sure you have the Rise of the Commonwealth installed, it's a separate mod.
Well that was a dumb question of me. Thanks for your quick reply. Keep up the great work.
Where does the Fresh supplies shack spawn
Okay is it just my settlements when I implemented this new expansion the NPCs presumably coming from the hotel are now attacking the settlers?
uituit baker oh okay thanks! I was just coming back to clarify that I'm not actually on ones that are converting was just going to my regular ones.
This brilliant! I am starting a new play through
Mind boggling stuff, thanks so much
can you have more than one sim settlements add-on? like having rise of the commonwealth and industrial revolution at the same time?
Absolutely! You can have them all. There are literally dozens now thanks to the mod community.
Can i assign a leader to starlight drive in yet?
Does anyone know whether having addon packs installed affects the settlements in rise of the commonwealth?
thanks :)
Never hit the download on the NMM so fast

I couldn't find the terminal or holotape in the museum of freedom

Possibly a dumb question...when I had Sanctuary build via the mod, I seem to have lost the city manager’s desk. Does the build move the desk?
NVM...I just forgot where I put it. Found it.
Hey king Gath alot of me and my friends was wondering i do know ALOT of people have trouble building arenas is it possible for a patch to where settlers will build their own ? Or would that be way to complex .
I may attempt to do something like that eventually, but not using the DLC arena pads - those things don't seem to work well.
kinggath honestly , that's exactly what i had in mind lol !
Did you go to the museum of freedom yet, that's where you get the holotape to start.
Killmon10 I got the tape through counsel commands normally always works .
Kinggath Cures my depression
So if I scrapped one of the ruined houses at sanctuary after the foundation is built does that ruin everything?
Well it might make things look bad - but the build will still continue. If it was one of the buildings that is normally scrappable without mods, refreshing the city from the desk menu will restore it.
kinggath all right I'll do that. Thanks
Hey I’m playing on Xbox and I’m wondering why my hud thing isn’t showing up everything else works fine aside from the hud thing in the bottom left isn’t showing
Make sure you have HUDFramework installed, and that your crosshair isn't hidden (the hud attaches to the crosshair).
My city plan keeps telling me that I have none available. Why is that?
You'll need either the Three-in-One version of Sim Settlements, the Rise of the Commonwealth expansion, or some community City Plan mods to gain city plans. Since Xbox is heavily limited on space, the mod is compartmentalized into expansions with City Plans being part of Rise of the Commonwealth.
@@kinggath I downloaded the Three-in-One and its working no problem, however I only have one build. Is that correct? Thank you
Yeah - there are additional City Plans available from the community on nexus.
need a complete tutorial because the mod is bugguy , we can't choice a leader, the settlers don't build anything,... and the administation study is bugued :/
Also be sure you have crosshairs on. Turning off the crosshairs will stop the HUD meters from displaying.
L2K_Perma Is HUDFramework listed on the mods list in the Fallout 4 mods menu?
wait so do we have to place the wires ourselves lol...
No, everything is self-powered. If Bethesda ever adds functionality to allow wiring through code I'll change it to actually run wires for you, but doesn't very fun to have to try and hunt down all of the connectors.
oooo thanks, wires were just a nuisance anyway
So what do I all need to make this work
uituit baker thanks mate
Why haven't bethesda/zenimax hired you and your team yet?
You've already shown them up with your mod!
So cool man. Did Bethesda hire you yet? Maybe Fallout 5 or Elder Scrolls 6 or whatever the same will have this feature. For now just do it as mod to test method and fix bug many will gladly sacrifice their console (me included) for this feature fully complete for new games.
My city is at 100% progress to next level but won't upgrade, first time using the mod.
Check the supply safe on the City Planner's Desk, they may need to collect more scrap still. You can either wait for them to collect it, or donate some yourself.
Does it matter what I give them? Will 100 aluminum, acid and steel contribute the same or is it rarity dependant?
You can give them any junk. The more valuable stuff fills the percentage faster.
Two more questions, are there other leaders that aren't companions and why do some buildings spawn sideways?
There are add-on packs you can download that allow other NPCs to be leaders. If buildings are spawning at weird angles, something is wrong. You can refresh the city which might fix them, but in general, that should not be happening.
doesn't seem to work on xbox...
It definitely works on Xbox, we have a very big Xbox player-base. If you'd like help troubleshooting, head to simsettlements.com and give some specifics of what you've tried on the forums.
ive avoided a mod game for a long time... this may just make restart the game again...
Do you also avoid adding spices or condiments to your food? And do you drink only water?
i avoid adding spices and condiments to my food, i only like single ingridient meals, and i drink only water, but i mod my games
I see Bethesda left a dislike already.
Are you like making cash off this?
I love your mod thanks you al fore this graet mod
Now the best settlement bilder out there is "ranger dave " must see his you tube channel olsow he makes mod
Maby he can at som 2 you team
Lazy Mode.
I hate first comments but first lol
