There are no other Choirs that have the same heart felt life in their music as the Welsh, I have heard and seen many others around the World, and they just don't have it. Love you Wales. xxxxx
Born in Germany, to a Welsh Royal Navy man. Mother was from New Zealand. Very proud to be a Welsh subject and have lived in my homeland twice. I would stay there if cercumstances had made it OK for me. Loved the land and the people. I still consider myself, Welsh to this day, 63 now.
My dad served in Malaya with the 2 Btn Royal Welch Fusiliers. He wasn't Welsh, but was very proud to have served in a Welsh regiment, alongside men who remained his friends for life. We played this at his funeral as a tribute to that part of his life..
This New Yorker writes to say thank you to Solstaro for being nice enough to post this for us all; and also to these wonderful men with the lovely voices who sang it. Blessings on you.
I used to care for a man with dementia in a nursing home years ago, he was in a welsh choir when he was well, and we had a tape of him singing this solo. We would play it in the morning in his room as he was waking up and we got his things ready.I never knew what the song was but loved it. Gives me goosebumps.
I'm so proud to be welsh! Thank you for reminding me of this! Cymru am byth.... These valleys shall always echo with our voices within these pastures green, Let us forever keep the land of our fathers a place where their souls rest within the arms of our superb choirs! God bless this land! (R.I.P Gy, My inspiration and my hero in life and from beyond). I shall make you proud and keep your teachings alive as best i can. No other land comes close to the depth of our soulful, proud voices,.
but, hey they kinda ...um... blow you away by the end. Superb phrasing here for just a popular show song. Beautiful depth of feeling. Light and airy accompaniment. A gem.
Beautiful this is where music is at it's best. I'm a should fan but the beauty of music is no matter what genre you like good music will touch you and move you.
This arrangement is so well sung by this amazing choir! The beautiful harmonies make my heart soar with joy and gratefulness that I can hear! Thank you!
The choir gave a heart rendering performance of this song -nothing short of perfection - at last nights opening Gala concert of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod .The performance must have been especially poignant to one Terry Waite -sitting in the front row. . I will never forget it!
Bravo, gentlemen! One thing about the choir-master though: he had the knack for putting together a talented ensemble, but unlike high school or college students, these are grown, responsible men, very capable of learning their own parts and very likely finding and making the time to rehearse away from the main meetings...it is very likely some of them know keyboards themselves for this purpose.
Very impressive performance and I can't help it as I listen but to sing along with utmost feeing and emotion. Incidentally this song is my newly uploaded video # 17. Accept my congratulation and thanks also to uploader.
Lovely song and interpretation. If you'd like to hear "one of the finest Male Voice Choirs in Wales" sing Bring Him Home then come to Rossett Church (LL12 0HE) on Saturday8th May and hear the Rhos Orpheus Male Choir in concert!
Cantorion Colin Jones sets very high standards for TTBB choir singing. In this recording I can hear each section quite distinctly but yet the parts merge into beautiful and masculine tone.
Are there any concerts due this year , And if so , where could I find out . Can you purchase tickets at the venue ?? Would be most grateful for any Information .
Hi Are yoiu the Canton Choir, being a Canton boy myself It was a pleasure to find you on TH-cam. I'm assuming the Canton is in Cardiff? I play a harmonica and have a few tunes on TH-cam, try looking for me? Take care, Derek

Lovely, beautiful voices! Only thing is, Ive found with mens choirs, that no matter how good they are they cant convey the emotion in the song as effectively as one singer can.
hmmmmm such a robust sound from the men the piano sounds kind of obsolete and childish next to their full sound.. I loved the mens arrangement.. but not the piano.. I think, ( in my opinion) it would have been better w/o the piano.. but great none the less

Oh so beautiful. No one sings like the welsh male choirs

To hear this from a group of men who only meet every two weeks is amazing and thrilling and is also a credit to the musical talent of that people.
There is no sound on earth like a Welsh male voice choir.

This made me cry. Makes me miss my friend Wynford.
Keeping alive a very strong tradition of vocal skill in the British Isles. Absolutely beautiful and they should be proud.
One of the most touching songs ever written!!

This arrangement is so well sung by this amazing choir! The beautiful harmonies make my heart soar with joy and gratefulness that I can hear! Thank you!
What is it about the Welsh? Damn those folks CAN sing.
be still my heart. bravo gentlemen. you moved me to tears.

Looking forward to see the recording on Sunday July 13th S4C 7.30.
I hear that the choir did themselves proud.
Just Amazing.

Beautiful, at times hauntingly so
A lovely rendition that I enjoyed very much. Thanks for putting up this video
I fully agree with "bigtube 1975" : please many more of such songs and such welsh mv choirs.

Now this is singing...enjoy!
I fully agree with stevestone07 : piano too loud (microphone too close to the piano),
but the choir is fine !!!!!
This is Wonderful!
The piece is from "Les Miserables". The music by Claude-Michel Schoenberg and the lyrics are by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil
North or south.... Matters not. WE ARE BROTHERS OF CYMRU! im proud my gy sang for these guys. R.i.p Jack Twinning Davies. MY Hero....
Cantorion Colin Jones sets very high standards for TTBB choir singing.
In this recording I can hear each section quite distinctly but yet the parts merge into beautiful and masculine tone.
The recording was taken from behind the pianist therefore, the piano would have to be more dominant than in the concert.
I wonder what the choir sound like the accompaniest is too near the microphone? Do they do a cappello?
Are there any concerts due this year , And if so , where could I find out . Can you purchase tickets at the venue ?? Would be most grateful for any Information .
wel dyna be chi'n galw canu.gwledd o ganu ardderchog.
Not sure Cameron Mackintosh was either. Nor Boublil, Schönberg, Kretzmer, or even (especially) Victor Hugo. Yes it is beautiful.
bonjour
@amc91a Thank you Lil' Kim.
Thanks for that amc, but how did you manage to reply two hours before I sent! Clever that. Good old BST srikes again?
Is this on your new CD?
When is it being released?
Looking forward very much to hear it.

Drop the piano - not needed with this level of singing, it's just too loud.
Otherwise, great...

(Valjean is standing over Marius at the barricade)
VALJEAN
God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there
He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.
He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.
Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy
You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.
don't think you qualify to comment having looked at your work
:))
Q. WHEN DO THESE MEN'S WIVES GET TO PERFORM THEIR HOBBIES? OR IS THAT 24/7/365 HOUSEKEEPING?
Lovely, beautiful voices! Only thing is, Ive found with mens choirs, that no matter how good they are they cant convey the emotion in the song as effectively as one singer can.
Singing wonderful. Too close to the piano !!!
PIANO RUINS IT BY BEING TOO LOUD
begging for tenors to power over the moo cows
