Brilliant practical tutorial with complete working details and sharing with joy and patience. Your team work is truly natural. This is the best of best TH-cam video presentation way ahead of everybody. Best wishes to you both and Happy Christmas. Thanks
Excellent works chaps👍👍! I’m a 64 yr old carpenter/joiner and I’ve been using virtually the same methods you use for years. I also hate the plastic carcass legs and have always built a base frame similar to yours, much stronger and as you say no need to level the units after. Looking forward to your next video, keep up the great work👍👍
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to write this message. Yes, it's such a simple way of leveling up carcasses I'm surprised not many others do it! Thanks Ryan 👍👍
Very good video, thankyou so much, id prefer if you made the video of the pieces which you cut out to make the wardrobe.. that helps so much.. the size length etc.. ❤
I was thinking about building fitted wardrobes. Now I watch your two videos and realise the work required... Wow its a lot more time than I imagined and you are two skilled talented guys. Which means it will take me 6 months to do a shite job so I might just buy a wardrobe 😂😂😂😂. Respect for the work and thanks for sharing. Love Katybuilds
Hi Katy! What a great message...it made me smile 😊 I've now subscribed and watched a few of your videos, which are great by the way! It also seems that you could tackle building a wardrobe going by what you have achieved so far! I don't think you should give in and buy a wardrobe, you could make one and make a series whilst doing so 😊 I'll be happy to try and give you any help or advice if you need any. By the way, you are living the life! I love France and am currently learning the language. If I didn't have young kiddies, I'd definitely make the move out there and do what you are doing 😊 Ryan 🙂
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thanks so much for watching and subscribing! And for the encouragement. So great to see wood become a 3d object. I've never fitted hinges so maybe I'll make a test model first and I also need to build it into a sloping ceiling. So that means triangular doors 😱 I need to make a proper plan and price up the materials as well. I'll probably give it a go in the next few months once I've finished the more 'urgent' list. Yes France is great, a more chilled life. Have a great week 👍🌱
I really like your clean methodical approach. If you show customers how you lay out tools and cover floors that would be another really good selling point. People are understandingly concerned at letting trades people in homes-which is why recommendation is so important. A photo of that would certainly go half way to convincing me you are good...of course you probably don't need extra trade! Others might though.
Great job. Looks mint. Love a bit of crisp birch ply. Always interesting seeing your plinth method. I tend to build ply torsion boxes but your method is even more simple. Hey if you ever fancy doing a vid on how you quote and price jobs I'm sure a lot of us would be really interested. It's something I struggle with and my pathetic earnings reflect that sadly. Cheers for the effort in making these videos. Not easy. I can see Sean itching to get going while you're talking and filming everything! 😂 👊
Hi thanks, yes the bearer system works best for me. I think there is a video for a year or so ago where I was chatting with someone over pricing up. You're welcome, it is tough though. Sean never wants to stop lol
Really good to watch. I assume you’re using biscuits and screws - no glue? I’m looking to make a stand alone wardrobe in a similar fashion, but you’ll see sides etc. how to avoid visible screws??
Thank you mate! Yes we use it in on site for our trims and sometimes in the workshop. It is pretty good! Trend do site lights that work with those batteries and they are really good too, really bright!
Nice work. You could save material on the drawer packers by packing out just the drawer runner as compared to the entire internal drawer cabinet walls. As it’s only seen when the drawer is extended it wouldn’t be noticeable and at current birch ply prices, might be something you may wish to look into - as a rough estimate, you’d save just over half a sheet on this job which is more cash in your skyrocket. On this score, roughly how much do you charge for an installed unit such as this?
Amazing content as always. Keep up the great work guys. shame you guys are so far from me or else would certainly comission you for some built in wardrobes
Hi ryan, lovely job as usual, did you use overlay hinges on all the doors, or half overlay hinges to keep the consistent 3mm gap?, if you used overlay, when would you use half overlay?, or dont you need half overlay if your measurements are perfect.
Great work lads and some great inspiration for someone planning a similar wardrobe made of 100% birch ply. For the carcass next to the window seat are there exposed screws on the outside? Is this typical for birch ply construction?
Apologies youtube blocked this message for some reason Thank you very much! And I'm not sure there are visible screws, no, especially on Birch. Well not ever on the front really ☺️ It would most likely be covered if so, or the fixings from the side. Cheers ryan 👍
Lovely job guys ! So nice ! Please let me know how many days take from.buy materials untill finishing the installations ? And what was the price for a job like that ? This answers , may be, ll make to jojn thd club . Thank you very much ! 😊
Thank you! I vant really remember the exact amount of days, but maybe 5 days or 6 days in the workshop for one person and a day fitting 2 people. Birch ply is so expensive now, it was£1500 worth of birch at least and the job was in the region of £6k I believe. Thanks for watching and feel free to join our membership 👍 Cheers ryan
That's great, thanks. My daughter just had her loft converted and asked me to build a wardrobe to fit under the sloping roof. Your videos have been very useful. I've also downloaded a free version sketchup.
Why don't you guys use U-scribe for doing your trims, will take half the time, more actual fixing action footage would be great, nice installation overall 👍
What a perfect job, well done boys and thank you for making a record of it.greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
Thanks Ryan

To consistently maintain a 'standard' takes alot of passion and effort, these guys nail it every time! (Sorry ... they never use nails!)
Thank you, that's a very nice comment.
🙂👍
Wow!……… I mean wow!
You must be so proud of your achievements. Just a brilliant thing to watch.
Thank you so much, its nice to look back and see what you've made, so that's nice!
Really appreciate your message 🙂
Love that I have been after something like that

Yep Sean's amazing tbh! 👍👍👍
Amazing you make it look easy but I can see you're a perfectionist
Thank you! Cheers!
Top job, you certainly have a good wingman there mate 👏👏👏
Thanks!

Yet another entertaining and instructive video. Thanks guys!
Thank you 👍
Truly magnificent job. I love the Birch ply finish. You both work well together as well.
Thank you!! I love birch ply too!
Sean is amazing he makes us a good team 👍
Great video, very enjoyable !!! thank you
Thank you👍👍
Well done. Cheers
What are your thoughts on airflow and mold at the back of the unit? Particuarly after all the trim seals it up back there. Lovely looking wardrobe :-)
Really good to watch. I assume you’re using biscuits and screws - no glue? I’m looking to make a stand alone wardrobe in a similar fashion, but you’ll see sides etc. how to avoid visible screws??

Yes exactly...
You could use pocket holes?
Awesome video. New subscriber.
Thank you so much! That's great to hear 😊
Lovely work as usual mate 👌🏻 a few weeks ago I bought the trend 18v chop saw for 2nd fix work, very impressed with it so far!
Thank you mate!
Yes we use it in on site for our trims and sometimes in the workshop. It is pretty good!
Trend do site lights that work with those batteries and they are really good too, really bright!
Would you be able to post a list of tools you use? I build mdf wardrobes in my local area. Think your wardrobes are next level
I may even make this as my next video. We'll, my site kit first then possibly my workshop kit.
And thanks very much! 👍
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop that would be amazing. Your work is awesome. Great watch everytime
Inspiring work! Thank you for sharing this. Apologies if I missed it, but how do you attach the trims around the perimeter?
Great to watch the videos, a lot to take in. Would you recommend bearers or a subframe in an ope of 1.5 metres
Thank you, I always use bearers :-)

I think its just easier to do as a whole panel, less work. Anything for an easy life 🤣
another question how does your helper fix the side trims to wall/carcase. There appears nothing for it to push against. Thanks.
Amazing content as always. Keep up the great work guys. shame you guys are so far from me or else would certainly comission you for some built in wardrobes
Thank you!! Much appreciated!
👌👍
What a brilliant video. Good work fellas. As a budding carpenter/joiner, I'd be fascinated to know what you charged for this job.
Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you very much!
Something this size made from Birch would be around the 5K mark off the top of my head
Cheers Ryan

Hi Ryan. Great videos, really enjoy watching them. How do you secure the plynth/pelmits etc in place.
Great thanks!
We make them flush with the carcass and screw them on from the insides 👍
That's great, thanks. My daughter just had her loft converted and asked me to build a wardrobe to fit under the sloping roof. Your videos have been very useful. I've also downloaded a free version sketchup.
great job. shame the painting not up to an equivalent standard
Thank you!!
I think they were fitting a picture rail and having a different colour above 👍
what size screws do you use to fox to the wall?
fix to the wall. Thank you
Hi most of the time 80mm to 100mm depending on the void in between 👍
What screws do you use to fix the 18mm ply for the carcasses?
we use 50mm screws for carcasses and 30mm screws for backings and drawer bottoms
Did you glue the cabinets in site or just screw?
I think they just use screws
@@afnankhokhar5578 Much simpler than all those smart connectors or even dominoes.
Yes just biscuits and screws. There is no need for glue 👍
Why don't you guys use U-scribe for doing your trims, will take half the time, more actual fixing action footage would be great, nice installation overall 👍
I’ve never heard anyone use the word “arris” before. I had to Google it, because I didn’t know what it means.
