Fish pond business is a tough business. Aside from acquired skills, thieves are primary reasons for losses. Security should be 24/7. You can't be nice in that business.
Commander Daot, sell your fish pond. That business is a very tough business. If you release 10,000 fingerlings you only get 5000 bangus. When rainy seasons starts, you end up losing more fish. My parents were in that business, I know how stressful and difficult it is to run that business.

Hello Kumander D. from Las Vegas USA! I'm sure you know by now that everything about business in the PI is negotiated. There is no such thing as set price of any merchandise. It is not like in US or developed country like yours. The only way any business can survive and make a reasonable profit in PI is to be firm and surround yourself with trustworthy people. This comes with a price though. You have limited friends. I know this because my dad used to have a business in PI before we move to US. Best wishes on your business Kumander.
Kumander Daot had been in the Philippines for quite sometime and not only in 2019. Check Francois Williams videos where Daot was featured in those and he was not yet known with BecomingFilipino at that time.

I find it amazing someone from Wales embraced the Filipino provincial way of life, especially down in Mindanao. One of the bad cultural traits is the short sighted nature of some Filipinos. Making a quick buck is not unusual in the world, especially in the Philippines because they probably thought someone like Kumander D would simply leave. After all, what's the harm defrauding someone who has no vested interest in the community. They are simply a target of opportunity. The fact he is married to a Filipina tells me he committed to his family. I only hope it is true love and not because of something else Filipina women are known for. From the limited viewing I have had, I think Anselm is a good man and wish him well in his fish farming business. I assume he is leasing the land and not owning it. Foreigners cannot own land in the Philippines. It has to go through his wife who is a Filipina. My family originated in Romblon island and I wish I have the same hutsva as Anselm, but my home is Virginia in the U.S.A. My parents immigrated from Manila to Arlington VA in 1971. Also I'm up in age so having such an adventure may have passed me. Anselm is still young and finding himself. All that matters is he is happy and thrive in what I believe is a very hard environment in Baybay. That said, I see enough people in the video who cares and there are truly those Filipinos who do care, but some bad egg makes for a sour experience. Maybe when this pandemic disappears I'll make a trip to visit. Since 1971 I have visited the Philippines 3 times and never beyond the big island of Luzon. I am even amazed Kulas traveled to TawiTawi. I don't even consider that part of the Philippines, but it is. I think that's more Malaysia than anything else.

I think Tawi-Tawi is the only province Kyle has not visited....think about it...he has visited every province in the Phiilppines except one. Travelled on his scooter from Mindanao to Northern Luzon!, on his own, ended up in Batanes and left his first scooter he named Cindy over there....he reunited with that scooter when his parents came to visit this year before the pandemic shutdown occurred.
