I was hoping there would be a question in regards to TN and MS. I have MS with a lesion/s in the pons, close to the trigeminal nerve. I have had shooting pain on and off for 2 years but has now become a constant shooting pain. I am on 600mg of carbamazapine now. Your thoughts??
I have been suffering from pain in my right cheek for many years. At first it was sharp pain along the two lower branches of the trigeminal nerve. But years later, the sharp pain turned into a constant throbbing pain that is aggravated by the influence of a cold wind. Is there any chance that this operation will help in my case? I would appreciate any response to my question.
Dr Chang, I have TN due to meningioma approximately 3x2.2x1.5 repeat MRI last February. According to the written reports : it’s along and within the right cavernous sinus/medial aspect, right middle cranial fossa. Lesions again noted to extend into the right Meckel’s cave Prefontaine cistern. With your expertise can you comment on those? I would like to know if the Trigeminalnerve is affected or there’s a need to do radiation. I am scheduled for menigioma radiation this month. I am now 71 yrs old , with Rheumatoid arthritis taking methotrexate injection weekly. Is there any effect in the radiation? Have you given steroids on patients receiving radiation? Thank you
My daughter is suffering from trigeminal neuralgia, she had a root canal that was unfinished. She has been dealing with this for two years. She's had all the symptoms from needle pains to shocking pain ,she can't tolerate wind. She has had the pain so bad ,she couldn't even eat . The medications are not working that well. She doesn't want to have decompression surgery right now, she is fairly young. Would she have any like with the cyber knife treatment.
Hi Maria, if she would like to a consultation or if you would like me to take a look at her films, happy to do so. Please reach out to veevo@stanford.edu, we could get setup with a video visit.
Thank you for all the information.
