LIFE’S MASTER MODEL! (part 2 of 8)

Intro: Last week we noted a very short, but very significant biography of the life of Jesus: “He went about doing good.” (Acts 10:38) In our Lord’s humanity we are provided a Divine example -- a perfect visual aid -- of how life lived in the flesh can still be pleasing to God!
I. YOUTH!
A. A Time Of…
1. Going through natural stages of development.
2. Great energy and strength.
3. Eagerness to soak up knowledge.
4. New encounters and opportunities for growth through challenges.
B. What Is Key To Pressing On Through It?
1. Note Psalm 119:9-11
2. It is the same for all of us for continued maturing in Christ!
II. LOOKING TO JESUS!
A. Remember Jesus Grew Up In A Traditional Jewish Family!
1. He was noted as the son of a carpenter. [Matt. 13:55]
2. He had a role within the parameters of a family unit. [Matt. 13:55-56]
3. As a good son He submitted to His mother’s desire. [John 2:3-5]
4. Even from the cross His mother’s needs had His attention! [John 19:25-28]
B. What Marked The Onset Of His Teen Years?
1. Foundation built by Joseph And Mary. (Luke 2:41-42)
2. Jesus’ desire for discussion of significant matter. (Luke 2:43-47)
3. Jesus was aware of His purpose, yet respectful toward His earthly parents.
