To me its like pet owners who trust their pythons 😂
6:37 - A lovely touch that Aura regained her power 28 years ago, just after Himmel died. She was so scared of him she did not dare resurface while Himmel was alive.
Himmel's VA is really talented. His delivery of the lines especially when he changes to his softer tone to say something meaningful aways gets me.
Not to mention also voiced Bakugou and Garfield from Re Zero.
Do I even need to mention that Frieren has the same voice as Anya?
The voice actors/actresses of this anime are so talented
@@juanthegreat3954 it's so wild. he was so harsh as both of those but himmel can speak so softly it makes you want to cry
So true. I'll never understand people praising the dubbed version, they missing out on so much nuance with that abomination...
13:05 One of Frieren's most famous badass boasts, stating she is not just stronger than him but stronger than his boss' boss.
Oh no the cry counter:
Devi 6/28😭😭😢😭😭🙂😭
Jackie 0/28😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
This time Himmel was stronger and brought Devi to tears again. It must be admitted that what Himmel said was both very sad and fondly😢❤
How many times have you cried so far? My cry counter:😭😭😀😀😀😀😭
I come here for your comment. ❤
There has to be an emoji that represents crying harder than "😭" for some of the episodes to come lmao.
Thanks a loooot
Demons in Frieren are basically race of Patrics Baitmans from American Psycho
Or Dennis from It's Always Sunny.
7:21 MVP of this episode is the VA for the woman whose daughter was eaten by the demon child.
whose* daughter
@@30noir ty fixed it
The fact that no bond grew with the little demon and the village chief was a really good point that i hadn't given enough thought.
Yes, that's what kind of demons should be portrayed. Not a friend that you can use their power, became an Ally so you can fight the villain, or some demons with sad flashbacks so you can marry them.
The way freiren say im stronger than your boss🥶🥶
I love the opening to this episode. Frieren dreaming about her friends leading to her waking up early and Fern totally going into the praising mode and feeding her with Stark wondering what the heck they're doing. Enter the DEMONS!!!!
Himmels "no" is one of the fullest regrets ive ever heard in a anime
I can't wait for you guys to see the next few episodes. :)
Next couple of episodes will be LIT.
This is an important episode for presenting what demons are in this "universe". Too many people take a similar view as Stark. But in this world there are no good demons. Note that Frieren explained the nature of demons. And then we get to hear the demons basically AGREEING with that assessment. So, no, its not just her view. It is the way they are.
I don't think the demons are capable of actually becoming human-like.
1. They are inherently different as seen by the way they disintegrate vs the animals or the species of people that do not.
2. They only take on human form and speech as a way to hunt humans. There are actual predators in nature that imitate mating sounds of their prey to lure them in. The sounds signify completely different things between the predators and the prey. We don't really have an equivalent for us in real life, which makes it hard to imagine I guess.
I like your current colored hair style
fyi in german himmel means heaven, so frieren remember himmel when answering stark is kinda double meaning
Demons in Frieren's were quite straight forward concepts of "normal" demon should be but they had depth. Demons in this series put themself as "apex predator". They used words instinctly to deceive and hunt human. And because they are apex predator, they always subconsciously lie even if they try not to.They don't have complex emotions we human have. They can't change their behavior because at the end of the day they are still a monster (that capable of speech). You'll get deep dive into demons characters in further episodes.
Thanks for sharing! Demons are interesting and definitely so far it's hard to tell if they can be reasoned with - Himmel learned the hard way that past demons can't - maybe modern demons are different.
To be fair to villagers, statues are not in-colour, so it's not like they can recognize the clothes, all they can recognize is her face, which is not a lot to go on.
Demons are natural human predators, they prey on our tendency to humanize nonhumans
Frieren - one of the best anime i saw
Next two episodes are Frieren flex!
small detail: when stark ask frieren where we go? frieren say "heaven" and and show "himmel" need u know himmel means heaven in germany
To put it simply, Demons are mostly logical creatures who doesn't have any sense of emotions or empathy. They run purely from reasons and order, instead of feelings. That's why they are not humans, becoz what makes humanity are empathy and compassion. Demons are kinda like Sanji's brothers who doesn't have any emotions, although they don't eat humans.
First of all, I'm a little sorry if my English is a little strange because I don't understand English.
Also, please understand if this seems like a long post.
The words Himmel said, "is so you won't be alone in the future," are great.
I think it was a line that Himmel spoke lovingly towards Frieren.
And then the demons appeared.
It turns out that the words of the demons are only used to deceive humanity.
Now you can see the cool side of Frieren.
By the way, in modern Japan, it is normal to add "kun"(君) or "san"(さん) after a person's name.
The act of calling a person by name without any honorific title is not done unless you are very close to the person.
By the way, "kun"(君) is usually given to boys. It is sometimes used for adult women.
"san"(さん) can be used by both men and women, but I think it's more often used for women.
"Chan"(ちゃん) is usually given to small boys and girls. It is sometimes used for adult men and women as well.
"Sama"(様) is usually used for people you respect.
"Dono"(殿) can also be used, but it is not used very often.
So that's why Fern always says Frieren-Sama. As her mentor she has deep respect for her, so she uses the honorific that shows the most respect, right?
next episode is on fire
8:05 Demons vary a lot in looks. Recall Qual was also a demon.
But a much older and more powerful demon.
I think over the generations they have become more humanlike. The better to trick us.
@@MichaelRBrown-lh6kn I've heard that theory before, but it's hard to say.
SPOILER
We don't know how old Qual was, but Aura is over 500 years old, and another demon met later is well over 600. The demons we see from a thousand years ago all wear masks so it's impossible to say how humanlike they look. However, another great demon seen in the series (Rivale) is implied to be very old even by demon standards (in the sense that he outright refers to himself as an old man) but he still looks like a human with large horns.
I always enjoy watching your videos.
I would be happy if you could provide Japanese subtitles.
I look forward to your future posts.
Freire is autistic and demons are sociopaths. Free wants to learn social ques and stuff but she is literally like an adult with autism or at the least social issues. Demons are sociopaths that know how to get what they want but don’t feel anything.
Oh, another armchair psychiatrist. Do you even know how autism works? Aside from the stuff the Guardian tells you.
You are weird.
@@skydrake1833 And you saying that says what? Doesn't mean my comparison is off. Is that how you get points across? Where did you get that from the news? Such a healthy way to answer to an opinion.
Interesting take. Frieren is social awkward, maybe due to her long period of solitude. BUT she is capable to feel and understand emotions. Demons just lack that. Another reactor tried to claim that maybe elves and demons are related due to Frieren's lack of understanding emotions, but this is wrong.
@@MichaelRBrown-lh6kn my take is just for comparison not lore. That’s how I see it. Her being able to leave and not think of someone is a straight up trait that some autistic and people with adhd have.
Frieren being racist is refreshing xD. Racism as an evolutionary trait is interesting, in this case it allows to have a clear mind against Demonfolk, "They are evil, cannot be communicated against", no questions. Even though people that don't know give them the benefit of a doubt because why wouldn't they, they are in fact capable of speech, it shows why history tends to repeat itself, and why only so few people learn from "tales" from the past, which are indeed warnings from ancestores against situations they faced. Fascinating topic to be explored in anime.
Please watch bleach 🙏
