Wow im having issues with P171 and P0130 and p1133, and its stalling and not idling right and saying low oil pressure and my gas gauge went to zero > wonder id my seal is bad also thks , also it looks like a big job Fix in replacing that pump on a scale t0 1-10 what would you rate it ?
1) Where do you find a fuel filter? My 05 Trailblazer doesn't have one. 2) How much of a pain in the a$$ is it to pull the fuel tank? I'm 100% sure mine OEM and the gauge doesn't work. Back in April we went to Dayton, Ohio, about 400 miles one way. Just above Knoxville the alternator went out! Saturday afternoon no auto shops open. So, we found an O'Rielly's, bought the part and tools and changed it in the parking lot. Pretty easy but the bottom bolt was covered by the A/C lines, took longer than it should have.
On the 05’s, I believe the filter is built into the pump. It wasn’t too bad to drop the tank. But it helps to have a second set of hands and a low profile floor jack.
@@KevinNadeau i was driving all day today and its the second time my code goes off when i get to a quarter tank. My thought process ( im not a mechanic) when the gas in the tank is low enough, the gases put less pressure on the seal around my fuel pump and allow it to shut completely thus preventing air from getting in and removing my code
@@samirnacer9206 that’s a reasonable thought. My problem was the outlet tubes on the top outside of the pump were rusted and sucking in air. The second time (after I installed a defective pump) the pump itself separated and the internal hose came loose inside the pump and sucked in air when the fuel got too low.
The short term is only close to 0 becuase long term is almost 18. Still lean my friend short term will go negative to correct the long term when the car is fixed.

Yes, it felt like it would lose power. And I had a bad gas smell on occasion from the rusted lines going into/out of the pump.

It’s not a bad job if your tank is near empty. I’d say it’s a “4” just because it’s a little cumbersome to maneuver the bulky tank around.

Did your code by chance intermittently come on and off ( off when you reached a quarter tank)?
I think the code triggered when the tank got low, but I don’t remember if the code was intermittent after that.

Will this code cause your car not to start on the first try?
I think it’s possible

Good point. But the reality was I don’t think the long term had time yet to stabilize before I shot the video.
