I have read the Sandman series more than any human alive. More than those who wrote and published it. I can assure you, the Netflix series is absolutely nothing like the source material. From moment one of the first episode, it is completely removed. The only way possible for it to be further removed from the source material, is if it were simply a totally different series, from a totally different series of books, written in Sanskrit. It is a disgusting aborted afterbirth.
I enjoyed the show and it got me interested in reading the series. If I hadn’t watched the show…I doubt I would have. I’m a book loyalist and honestly I hate most adaptations because of that and have just learned to separate them in mind as a different world and canon.
