- I will show you how to make a fuse out of a book of matches.
This is an extremal easy and quick fuse to make because you do not need to take the match powder off the match heads, mix it with water, put it on a piece of string, let it dry.......... and 4 hours later you have a fuse.
This fuse only takes about 10 minutes to make and if made correctly, you will have a fuse that will work about 95% of the time.
Note: before you use this fuse for anything I would recommend you make at least 5 test fuses first.
I watched your vid and made one of these like 5 years ago. Well I found it the other day and tried it.. worked like a charm.
Of all the improvised fuses ive seen, this one is one of the best ones.
minusmodest sankh
I found this video a few years back and made some. They worked like a charm. I used them to light a fire in my burn pit. Not a bad bit of improvising, adapting, and overcoming.
It worked :D
After you're done with the striker, fold it lengthwise, put it on a sink faucet with the cold water running, light the striker, and if you wipe off the residue with your index finger, and rub it against your thumb, it makes smoke.
Very good MacGuyverism! Also a great job on the creation of the video with the ready made progressions of the piece. So many videos require fast forwarding to keep from watching all of the assembly or extraneous footage. Thanks for a great and safety DIY clip...Aloha.
thank you so much i have been looking for a fuse that didn't need lots of ingredients
internet sarcasm at its finest
PandaTamer97 Matches, tape, wire. What a long list.
Right there is "internet sarcasm at its finest"
i have to say man. That is amazing how you came up with this. Great Job!
Perfectly executed video. Thank you for having a sample set up for eachstep so that I didn't have to sit here for an hour and watch you roll tape around.
I just got the idea one day and tried it out and played around with the design a bit and this is what I got.
Nice way of being prepared and having stuff to show us instead of wasting our time...Thumbs up to you :D
so simple yet ingenious! perfect use of improvised materials, many ways to alter and add ingredients to the design to maximize performance, if this was your original idea you get props for that, can't wait to see more of your videos
Nice tutorial, well done. It was clear, concise and an all round good video.
The idea is good, I like it.
I won't be making it myself I have an electronic ignition system but for those into fireworks who don't or anyone into smoke bomb ignition for paintball/airsofting etc, this is a superb low cost and very effective ignition system.
Bravo
man!! you made my new year better there was a lot of wind and wasnt able to flare my fireworks so, i made these and impressedmy company thanks a lot!!!!
This is a simple, cheap, and effective method. Great job!
if you are talking about scotch tape, it might work but it is a lot stiffer and dose not "shape'' as well around the match heads as masking tape dose, and it wouldn't look as good.
I just tried that and it works rely great, the only down side is that it is not very wind proof :(
But still extremely use-full, I am just surprised that I have not come across this until now.
Thanks for sharing.
And I subscribed.
I was trying to find a cheaper way to make my pull rings and now I can. Good video.
i like how you have your stuff prepared :D
By far the best tutorial video on youtube
remember how the clip is attached to the match striker witch is held tightly against the match heads by the rubber band, so when you pull the ring it pulls the striker along the match heads which lignite's them.
thanks I might need this...for...things....
these work soooooooooooo good. they burn nice and slow and dont require wind-proof jetlighters or torches. Great video i subbed :)
this is actually pretty helpful idk no about you but im always trying to extend fuses to my fireworks
If I had time and a book of matches I would make one of my fuses, but if I needed a fuse right away I will definitely use yours, for instance there are several times when I am doing tests and need to rig up a lighter so that I don't need to be a foot away when I light the thing I am lighting, so now I will just use the masking tape fuse for that kind of stuff, but if I need a fuse that I can throw or it it's windy I will use my fuse.
That's awesome! What kind of things can you use that with?
this is a realy good way to safely light homemade/dangerous fireworks!!!
you should add that (useful use) in the description
this is the most coolest thing i have ever seen. dude good job and that is genius!
Safeway makes both matches AND icecream? I bought both, and the matches taste better.
man you know how many times i burnt my fingers on lighters trying to light fireworks man lol. very creative good idea and great how to! now im not much of a firework guy "i live in cali" really strict laws on it anyways if i ever find another reason to build a fuse i will use yours. I love how smart canadians are. south park is so wrong lol.
you are Mcgyver, pretty awesome bro
hey man thanks for the awesome vid, they are epic, i have had heaps of trouble lighting fuses in windy conditions, they look supa easy to make and are cheap too. Just wondering, can you make them out of wood, you said a little at the start but you didnt say much more, thanks
that is an amazing idea! im deffinitly going to try tht. have you every tried using that fuse while throwing it it seems like it could go out? could you try it and make a video
dude all your videos r beast, you have the easiest homemade designs!
this is a great idea i just made 2 of them and now i cant stop making them really good idea its great!
What fireworks were you using?
Good video, very detailed
good Idea.. Iam going to try it this weekend. good video.
I played with those fireworks about 25 years ago. Great idea for a fuse.,
I sometime needed these but can't remember it anymore. Maybe it was for a homemade firework or something :D Nice tutorial, everything is explained very well and the hd is awesome :P
nice!!! i am away on vacation right now but when i get back home i will definetly try this out
very cool!... did you try any kinds of glue ...flammable of course ...and i know it may increase cost significantly but i'm very interested anyway * awesome creativity and workmanship
made it the fist time and it worked! thank you so much for the guide! u rock
WOW!!!
Thank you for the cool video man!
I was always wondering if I could make a fuse by myself. :)
You good to hear and it's not hard to understand what you're doing.
I'm going to try it for sure.
Thanks mate,
Greets
You're like Holden Caulfield with those scissors!
@coolcarlos95 What is there a shortage of matches or something?
Good video, thanks.
just made it works great awesome part the starter strip is reusable.
Me to, sometimes if I am looking for something to do I go outside with a bottle of lighter fluid and a fire extinguisher and light random stuff on fire :D
I made this last night just for a little fun, worked perfectly!
Amazing! What else can you make.
wow nice firecracker dude looks awesome and the pull ring too :D
I think i might have the stuff to do that. its genius! accept one thing, you could make the ignition about 99.9% possible by wrapping the ignition band really tight and using a keychain loop instaid of paperclip.
I LOVE THOSE FIREWORKS!!!!
could you maybe (if you have time) make a video on how to combine this with the match head rocket so this is the fuse to it?
this was helpful since i wanted a fuse for my sound grenades but it was to slow and it blew out when i threw the grenades most of the times so if same thing for you just do what i did and make a double fuse its made the same just aline 2 rows of the matchs and add some extra masking tape so yea other then that forresttrenaman you did awesome
tht was awesome i just tried it it WORKED THANK YOU i will be looking for more helpfull vidoes in the future
They are just the small fireworks you can get at firework stores, just ask them for the fireworks than spin around rely fast, they are sometimes called Dancing Devils.
Do you think this would work if you used cannon fuse instead of the match heads?
@lubeacube you can use regular matches to but it may take a bit longer time to cut of the heads:D
A little expensive and inefficient, BUT, This would be great for a whole slew of projects, i.e. homemade grenades. All in all, way cool dude, I wanted a way to make a homemade pull fuse but had no idea how to make one.
Duct tape- $5.00
scissors- $2.00
matches-$0.75
paper clip-$0.05
Blowing yous self the fuck up--priceless
I love your canadian accent
def somthing i would have never thought of but a geneous little invention :)
this plus match rocket equals MY WEEKEND
lol you're so canadian its awesome! its almost like watching himym but not enough >.>
thats tight.
the troubleshooting part really helped thanx man
AWSOME - U GOT A BIG JUMPING JACK!!
finally a nice high definition video
OMG AWSOME FIRE WORKS! WHERE DO YOU GET THEM!?
this is amazing who showed you this or did you just think about this on your own
HOLY CRAP! THAT FIREWORK WAS BREAK DANCING :O
dayum that's a crazy firework!
Wat kind of firework was that cause it was awsome and I want some
it works. you invented it? and if you did impresive
@smokeyjoeiscool yes i'm kind of a pyro myself and im using this to make a smoke grenade and masking tape because it burns REALLY WELL, also it won't stop the fuse, however if you were to use duct tape or something the fuse would stop, believe me i've tried it.
That's true, except the part about Canadian Tire, I don't think you will find them anywhere except Canada.
nice that raely helps lighting fireworks on windy days
cool vid im gonna make this tomorrow
just a tip if u go backpacking do thiis just dont put the striker un yet they fit in pocket rubberbands on hand to start fires or anything
NICE FIREWORK!!!!
that was extremely in-depth
could you make this without the two striker matches and just have it light the first two in the fuse series?
Dude that's brilliiant.
Well, does regular tape burn? Masking tapes like a paper type texture, hence why it burns :)
Would it work if you doubled the matches up side by side?
um quick question but can you make a tutorial using this type of igniter to ignite a smoke bomb or any type of bomb?
Thank you for video .it very helpful for me ^ ^
sorry for my bad english
Stalin Joseph If you read the comments, your English is better than a lot here.
your a wizard harry.
i put a bit of gunpowder in mine and made sort of cylinder ting, cut it in half and put it on eachside so mine doesnt show and takes abut 6 sec but i can make it faster/slower if i want
very well done. 5 stars from me.
Very good and informative Video Mate. Keep up the Good Work!
Instead of taping the two matches on the external part of the fuse strip, you could try stapling them on with a single staple, it might work better. Might be unnecessary though.
Honestly that would be a good "Safe/Fun" way to light fireworks for little kids so they can have fun to :D:D:D
what would happend if you left some of them unwraped and then wraped the rest in the tape? would it go faster?
cold you throw it for instance on a bundle of smoke bombs or would it go out
you could fill the ping pong bomb w match head powder to help ignite it then put the fuse through the hole in the end???
do match heads need air to burn or do they have an oxidizer in them?
I am definitely going to try this. Thanks!
this is best video on youtube you are super awesome thanks!
Yes! This fuse is for everything!
where did you get that firework? i live in canada too and i can't get firecrackers or fireworks in anywhere that i know of
best pull ring how to ever :)
thats pretty cool
