These 95 hours have been AMAZING!! Some of my favorite four days of the year! What a blessing! This has been one of the most in depth studies I've ever done of the Book of Mormon, which I love. I feel closer to my Jesus.

"If you are having a hard time accepting the book of Mormon, think less on what the book is, and more on what it does.. Less on is the book true, and more on does it work? Does it persuade us to come unto christ? does it let me know how merciful he will be, not just with prophets and people in the past, but with ME?"
Love this so much!! Once you get that far, recognizing that the message within the book will bring you closer to Christ and shows you how merciful God is with us, then accepting it as scripture will come so much easier!

Thank you for sharing the story of Victor. Our missionaries love him! My husband and I returned from serving as mission president in Puerto Rico a few months ago. Victor was invaluable in helping the missionaries through two hurricanes, civil unrest, earthquakes and the Pandemic. You definitely brought tears to our eyes.

Brother Jared...by following that still small voice, I was lead to your lessons...through studying this book with your insights, and guidance has truly opened the eyes of my understanding...through that Spirit. Thank you for your faithful desire to be a good teacher...for me it has been a bright light on the sure pathway...in a troubled year. Oddly enough, one of my best years in terms of spiritual progression. I agree with your son, you are awesome. Keep up the good work❤️😇.....David, your brother in the gospel

I have taken CES classes for 20 years. I have had so many great teachers. I was in the middle of a Book of Mormon class when corona hit. I was at a loss until I got on TH-cam and found unshaken. I am so impressed with brother Halverson and the in-depth way he teaches. I am in awe of his knowledge and how much more I understand the Book of Mormon. I am so grateful for his classes and can’t wait to start the D&C next year. Please never stop sharing your wisdom of the scriptures with us.

I will continue into the Doctrine and Covenants........this end lesson was so powerful.... ( however I can see where your 14 yr old son gets his personality!!! You gave us hints here!) I remembered the missionaries first reading the Moroni scripture to me in 2005. Every time after that when I read the scripture I in my heart prayed and I felt the most amazing feelings of peace and safety. It took me years to finish the Book of Mormon for many things that Heavenly Father told me I would eventually do. But someone at church gave me a subscription to the Ensign. For some reason, I could sit down and read that. And every time I came to a scripture from the Book of Mormon or an apostle's or President of the Church's message, I felt that same sense of peace and safety. I love reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible which I was very familiar with knowledge-wise at that time. But, the Book of Mormon helped me to really come to know Jesus Christ, My Heavenly Father, and the Holy Spirit. Thank you for this lesson. I only found you about 2 weeks ago. I listen to the Book of Mormon Central Come Follow me lessons each week and now your lessons....I feel the spirit so deeply when you speak. I can't thank you enough!

I had to listen to this again. When I took the lessons from my sister missionaries, this chp of the Book of Mormon touched my heart so much.... When I have doubts and remember WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE....I remember Moroni's promise....I knew this was true. Every time I read it the spirit tells me that Jesus is the Christ and all I know from the Bible and the Book of Mormon is true. I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith for translating it.

Thank you Brother Halverson! When you spoke about the Seminary teacher in the Tennessee it rang so true in my heart. Coming from an inactive home I did take 4 yrs of Seminary. I was not the best student, but even now that I am in my 70’s when asked a question about the Gospel my mind goes back to my Seminary classes. I learned and stand firm on what I was taught. You and your dear wife GET WELL!

I have thanked God many times for your "gifts of the spirit" - to teach with such conviction, testimony, knowledge, experience, divine guidence, articulate expression, faith and love. I have gained tremendous understanding and deeper testimony by listening to these lessons. I have greater desire and capacity to stand firm because the scriptures have taken on deeper meaning, thanks to your teaching. How can I ever thank you? I really appreciated your Christmas one also. It was truly a gift to us. Thank you Brother Halverson, for EVERY lesson!! I have told all my friends, my children and extended family that you "are the best gospel teacher I have ever had - please listen to him!" I look forward to continuing next year. May God bless you and your family for the sacrifice you are all making in our behalf to produce these videos.

Thank you for all you do to teach "us"! I LOVE the BOM and have read it many, many times. Going through it with you has deepened not only my understanding but my love for it. I'm so glad to hear you served your mission in Puerto Rico! Our family moved to Mayaguez when I was eight. At that time the only church that was there was a non-denominational one on the Air Force Base. We had enough members to start a branch. With Salt Lake's permission we did and they sent us missionaries. It was such a wonderful time with people being taught and joining the church! I believe there is a stake in Mayaguez now and a temple coming to the island. I left a piece of my heart there, such wonderful people and so receptive to the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Thank you for helping to finally make sense of a sentence in my Patriarchal Blessing pointing me to study the gifts of the Spirit. For years, whenever I would read something that said something about it I would notate “PB” next to it. A piece of information here, a phrase there. Now finally I have a full discourse on it that brings it all together!

“Does the book work?” That question posed by brother Jared Thomas Sowell Halverson was very enlightening to me.
With a growing number of religious “nones” & atheists among our brothers & sisters, I believe the offering of this type of question is how we can eventually draw them to Jesus Christ (through the Holy Spirit).
This kind of shift is like casting our nets on the other side of the boat. In our secular day, I believe our gospel outreach needs to focus more on exploring the question of how Jesus works in building & sustaining flourishing individuals & families, thus societies (see Elder Christofferson).
If that is our course rather than an emphasis on propositional truth, I believe more people within & without the faith will begin to see the need for Jesus.

Thank you soooo much Bro. Halverson for all your wonderful lessons. Listening to this last one on gaining a testimony took me back 41 years when I gained mine. Never having been brought up in a faith filled household, I am wistful at your wonderful upbringing. However, the tender mercies of the Lord bestowed a strong testimony of the absolute truth of the Book of Mormon, when after having been baptised well meaning friends introduced me to anti Mormon literature. I was so fearful I had made the wrong decision to
join the church and the ONLY person I could turn to was God for my answer, in total, tears of humility I begged to know if I had done the right thing. My testimony came that night. Distinct and very personal to me. It has never left me. I treasure it. I have wept tears of thankfulness through the majority of your lessons.
It's a good job I'm not in your classroom. I would need a years supply of tissues to get me through! Have a wonderful Christmas with your beautiful family, and I look forward to your lessons on the Doctrine and Covenants in the New Year. 😊

I always wanted to attend adult institute classes and your videos are wonderful. I know that being there in person would be even better but I still feel the Spirit with these videos. Thank you. If you get the chance maybe you could make some videos of the first part of the Book of Mormon, so we can attend the first few hours of class that we missed. :) I would also really love to hear you teach about the book of Revelation. Thank you for your insights. I look forward to your lessons of the Doctrine and Covenants.

I just wanted to comment on I guess it's about 29 minutes into the lesson you mentioned something about wishing that you had the same understanding then when you were missionary as you understood now. Anyway I thought immediately came to my mind and this is what the thought was. If we knew the things we know now when we were missionaries we probably wouldn't have met the people that we came in contact with because we met those people because they were prepared to receive what we could share at that time with our understanding at the time so our testimonies we're strong and we believed but they weren't so strong that we would have been overshadowing the basics the gospel which is what those investigators needed from us. I hope that kind of explains what I'm thinking I don't know maybe it doesn't.

Thank you so very much for all the insights that you have revealed through this time. I've know that this book is true ever since I received my first copy from my sweet dear Primary leader nearly sixty years ago. In 1990 when we got our first computer, a Radio Shack Tandy 1000. To refresh my typing skills acquired when I took a typing-business class in the eight grade, I determined to type(keyboard) the whole texted of the Book of Mormon onto 3.5 storage disks. Typing three chapters a day as time permitted in my daily life. Every word is as it should be to bring out the the feelings in all who sincerely read and know the English of the time when it was translated. It truly is the most correct book we know of today. Thanks again for your insights from your studies, faithfully, Brother Despain

I’m embarrassed to say that as I entered the mission field I had never read the Book of Mormon thru, about 6 months into my mission as I was about to be transferred I prayed “Heavenly Father please don’t send me where there are born again christians”. My first contact in Lancaster Pennsylvania was a born again preacher, he listened to the lesson politely and invited us back, on the next visit he proceeded to rip the Book of Mormon apart, my companion said to me “shake your faith elder?’ And I had to admit that he had, I knew then that I had to know for myself, that evening I stayed on my knees for 6 hours pleading with the Lord to know for myself. I can say that he did indeed witness to me as unschooled and as unstudied as I was that absolutely this is his word, from that moment forward I became a missionary that could bare testimony with power and authority, I knew with every fiber of my being that it was true and the word of God, that was over 50 years ago and this year alone I have read it 3 times, my hunger to know and contemplate its power and meaning in my life has grown each time but that first witness has blessed my life to the point that I have never doubted for I know as surely as I live that Jesus is the Christ. Thank you so much for your powerful teaching, I feel the spirit so much with each lesson, I wish I had the ability to study and retain a fraction of what you do but even the least of us if we are sincere can know from God with a surety that this is his work.

Thank you, Bro. Halverson for these lessons. I found this channel about three months ago and am going to go back to the beginning and watch the ones that I missed. I actually had to watch this lesson twice, because the first time I kept thinking about the first time I read the Book of Mormon back in 1991. I knew that it was and is true before I even reached the end of III Nephi. The reason why would take too long to share. Not only did I know that it was and is true, but that Jesus Christ was and is the Messiah that a lot of my people were and some still are looking for. I’m saving the “Christmas Condescension” episode for Christmas Day. May you and your family have a Happy Christmas.

Brother Halverson, how grateful I am for your insightful teaching and deep testimony! I've been privileged to sit at the feet (sometimes literally) of many great teachers, but have never met someone who has a facility with the scriptures as you do. It's wonderful how you effortlessly go from one prophet to another and from one scripture to another to weave them into a harmonious mosaic of wisdom and truth. Thanks for the price you've paid to be able to teach with power and authority and with personal authenticity.
I've been writing a Book of Mormon blog this year. It's been a most meaningful experience, a bigger project than anticipated, but very rewarding. I didn't discover your TH-cam lessons until just 2-3 months ago, but I'm so glad I did!
May the Lord bless you as you continue to serve Him. Surely, He is pleased with His humble, devoted servant, Jared Halverson!
    Faithfully, your brother,
    Richard Boyer, Holladay, Utah

Thank you so much for all of your precious 95 hours. It was because of the Lord's tender mercy that I found your channel. I have loved studying with you. Thank you. You have a great 14 year old son! His little note is so awesome and the conversation he had over text messaging. You are doing great as a father! God bless you and your family always. 😊. I look forward to studying the Doctrine and Covenants with you.

Thank you so much Br. Halverson, you continually bring deep knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ to my heart and soul! I'm eternally grateful for your dedication, knowledge, humility, and generosity! I feel alone most often in studying the Gospel and living its virtues. I joined the church in 1990 and raised my children in its life giving gospel. One of my adult children is active in the church and she has chosen the last few years to distance herself and her family from the rest of our family. So I often journey onward alone. I have found you and a few other stalwart saints here on youtube who give me great strength and sustenance in the gospel. I feel like you're my older brother in the Gospel even though I may be a bit older than you, lol. Thank you again so much for guiding me and helping me feel loved!

Thank you. It is an understatement for how much I want to thank you for sharing your insights this way. I had an experience 40 years ago in answer to prayer that for a brief time removed the veil from the Bible and I read until sleep overtook me. Upon awakening I could only remember the experience itself, not anything I had read. I learned from this, however, that there was much more to the Bible than I was getting by simply reading it. I feel your insights, and your testimony, have peeled back a layer in the Book of Mormon leading to an increased desire to, with the aid of the Holy Ghost, look deeper into what Heavenly Father wants me to know, feel, and share. You are also the very first person on TH-cam I have subscribed to! I'm going to log back out now but I did it so I could thank you personally. Take care.
