I like the direction this remix is going. Most other remixes focus on the intensity of the battle, but I feel this one emphasizes the battle against a truly malevolent and slightly deranged ruler.
i'll admit, I was kinda disappointed in this battle. I liked the will changing, and wish there was more to it, but the character design was kinda lack luster... He kinda looks a bit too goofy to be so terrifying. And, I feel like the battle should have been a bit more hectic. You've gotten this far. You've defeated many enemies. You're tired, but determined. One last fight. One last fight and we can go home. This large, impending monster stands before you. His totalitarian rule terrifies the warriors and enemies you faced before. Even his own son was afraid of him. Now, he refuses to take your mercy. Your kindness. He'd rather feed off your hatred. Make his son realize the true monsters inside us. I also didn't like how you just... wait it out. There isn't a strategy to defeat him. The 'no mercy' run equivalent makes more sense than the pacifist. You've fought hard, attempting to defeat this great creature. You've realized, just as you did with asgore, that simple mercy will get you no where. You must fight. Then, after he lands to one knee, Ralsie heals him. This orchestrated recreation does do the song justice, tho. It lets you feel this intensity and fear that is important to this character and battle.

I was listening to this while cooking and I had to stop periodically to take dance breaks because the percussion was so good (esp when you, idk, split it? It happens at 2:30 and 4:20 and I liked those parts the most). As always, an amazing amazing job. 👍

Deltarune as we know it has a pixelated, 2d art style, and if you ask me, I’d say the music reflects that style choice as well. With full on orchestral arrangements for every song, it doesn’t really fit with the art style and makes the rest of the game look bad in comparison.

Everyone is talking about 2:30, which I understand fully. But my favorite part is simply the Spade leitmotif at 0:57. I feel like that part really kicks in properly, and is the most quirky part of the song.
Has anyone analized the King lines? "How DARE return to torment us again!" "Begone! We have found fresh purpose" Those lines... are very likely... of a videogame character who talks directly to the players and ask them why they have come to torment them again. "For the KNIGHT has appeared!" So... somebody come and show them the truth about themselves and their reality, a "knight" Then, he talks about how the Knight created the fountain and create "new worlds" Their world. "...Do you see our NEW purpose...?" A purpose no-related to be just a character of a game? idk man, i kinda feel its the same... but for a different player. Then, he says about how soon the "World would cover in darkness" (just like a similar ending if you die and you decide to not come back) and how we would know what is like living in dispair. ... Its just me or the king just said a LOT of things related to the REAL plot of Deltarune and nobody really say anything about it?
