Hull City fans have THE worst chant in world football, it is really cringeworthy. With the hand signals they chant "Mauled by the tigers, you've been mauled by the tigers, mauled by the tigers" etc
So, if you came back the next day they'd have found another excuse. Also, you'll more than likely get more views than Hull did (17,271). And the reason why they were beaten 3-1 is because the players were too busy looking in the sky in fear of getting gulped up by a drone.

The law i believe is not to fly over large crowds (it was when i got my operator ID), so on match day you can not fly over. But other than match day you should be able to fly in unrestricted air space.

Good job explaining and letting them know what you were going to do 👍. By the way a good app for the wind is UAV Forecast. You can set it to include gusts, different heights and max wind speed... Also the CAA define a crowd of people as 'A crowd is any group of people who cannot move away quickly because of the number of other people around them.' I'm not sure how they define quickly but there you go 🙂.
@Inspectorgadget111 I will check out your channel but tell me a weather app that is accurate 🤣. The information about a crowd that was given to the Grey Arrows Drone Club in this video above that you refer to is and was out of date by the time BP Visits published this video. You need to look at CAA's own published documentation and their drone code 'The Drone And Model Aircraft Code.' It clearly states in section 5 exactly the words I have written above. Enjoy See drone code linked here register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/the_drone_code.pdf
Who owns the air above your land? Well in short you do! So why do you ask are aircraft allowed to overfly? The answer is in the Civil Aviation Act 1982 which, denies the landowner any remedy for “trespass” or “nuisance” “by reason only of the flight of an aircraft over any property at a height above the ground which, having regard to wind, weather and all the circumstances of the case is reasonable, or the ordinary incidents of such flight.”

Yes, what is a crowd is a good question. Ultimately, it will be for a court to determine, but the drone code does now say that pilots should consider a crowd to be a group of people who cannot move away quickly because of the other people around them. Great video as always.

The safety guy was a lot more reasonable rather than trying to stop you from doing the flight he only asked you to wait till after match day. I don't believe the drone is that likely to damage the pitch if it came down but erring on the side of caution when a massive financial penalty is at stake is understandable to a degree.

Under English law a landowner owns the airspace above his land (unless it has been expressly excluded from the lease or transfer to him) and it is therefore trespass if a developer or its contractor allows a tower crane jib to swing across land owned by other parties. An adjoining owner can obtain an injunction to prevent such trespass without needing to show that any damage has occurred. An ‘Oversail’ licence is required and a fee must be negotiated in which the landowner can effective ask whatever they like.
It was 1000 or more (see the Air Navigation Order Article 95 para 2(b)) but article 95 has been "omitted" entirely as from 31/12/2020 (see the Air Navigation Amendment Order 2020, section 1 articles 1(2), 8, and 13). Even so, it still only applies to tightly packed crowds/groups, but now of any size. It is the crowd density that is important.
Good video. I’ve flown over some stadiums myself (inc Sheffield Wed & Leeds Utd) I’ve always unlocked it at home on the pc though. Much easier 😂 Have to say though.. I was surprised the DJI app accepted your unlock request on the match day. I always thought it would only unlock on days 48 hours either side of a match day. When I’ve unlocked mine it’s always given me a huge window (24 hours I think) when I’ve only needed a few minutes really. This is why I was surprised it unlocked yours on the match day. Maybe I’ve been doing it wrong 👍 😊
When you put in the unlock request, there are two ways of doing it.. the way I do it is to select the Geo zone I wish to unlock (stadium) but you can also manually draw an area on the map, but this is a bit more complicated and they ask for extra details. Maybe BP did it this way and it lets you fly on a match day? I wouldn’t have thought so but you never know.
but my permission from the CAA says I can fly up to 50 meters from a structure so surely if I keep that distance away I am ok. Well no, all the CAA are doing is saying what you can do from the CAA point of view. It is down to you the Drone Pilot to secure the permissions to overfly land that you have not had permission to take off from.
You can take a drone over an empty stadium, it's no different to a police station or factory. But he's heard half a story and didn't hear about the rule on crowds. As usual!
