      So I’m a huge Em fan, love Nas too both are in my top 5, but I actually liked Nas better here. He just brings this smooth poetic lyricism to the song. I wish EPMD verse was longer, and can we give Nas his 🌹 for this Album he put out. Also it's time for Em to get his 🌹, and not just for record sells , and plaques. He now collaborated with almost every rapper on people top 5 / 10 list , produced a record for them , or or at least respected by them . It is true that he is a true lyricists, he is definitely lyrics overs beats, hooks same for Nas 🌹🌹🌹

      @chyname 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@joshuakakisina3948 I understand what your saying, but most rappers rap about the same subjects. For example you take Jay Z and tell him he can't rap about being a hustler/ business man, former drug dealer, and having stuff only rich people can afford , and he has very little to talk about. That old Eminem people keep wanting, isn't realistic. You got to understand this man already has brain damage, then suffered a major drug overdose that caused him to learn how talk, walk , and rap again . He is simply not the same person he was 20 years ago, and not facing the same issues.. To me he is more of a lyricists now then he was in the past. For him to rap how he used to, he would actually have to dumb down his current lyrics. So yes his flow would be crazy, but his lyricism would suffer.

    “You see letters in red splatter, look like sauce and spaghetti”
    Nas is paying homage to Em referring to the MTBMB album cover and Lose yourself. Nah no one even noticed that lol 🤦🏻‍♂️
    Nas’ bars are layered and need to be deciphered. You won’t get them at first until you sit there and think about what he just said. And you might not even get it then. Might take a year. Might take two years. Maybe more. Once you’ve gained more knowledge as time passes and you’re able to put two and two together then you get your brain blown out by a bar you first heard years ago. Em’s bars have a lot of initial shock value but they don’t stand the test of time. They’re extremely technical with double and even triple entendres but aside from that there’s not much else to them. Nas’ bars transcend the fourth dimension.
    Don’t disrespect the arguably the best lyricist of all time. Em himself would smack you for that one lol fact of the matter is both Em and Nas destroyed this track and both need to be tossed roses. The Big Daddy Kane bar was absolutely mind blowing.

      Cant knock the stans for celebrating their ace. Kiss fans do same thing. Jay z fans too. That white pitbull been eating in multiple era so the suggest that em is getting paid homage to by a legend like nas, and nas letting him go last is a biiiiiig deal. Not to mention he did just what he was supposed to do. Shine!! And dont get it twisted.... Nas bars didnt go over most of us "stan's" head. Em has carved out his legendary status as a hit song maker and feature artist. My main knock on him is his inability to carry an entire balanced hip-hop album. He's a pop artist/songwriter with a great sense of humor who also happens to be one of the most talented wordsmiths in commercial music history.
    WTBS, Em has always required the table to be set for him in order for him to feast in the typical urban hip-hop context; Either someone across the stage to battle or artists sharing a song. Em's solo efforts are basically very lyrical pop music. Subject matter matters.

    It’s not that Nas just allowed Em to get the last verse, he let him get the damn beat switch!!!!

    That hiphop is buried line was a reference to his album Hiphop is Dead he dropped in 2006.

    I peep what u did Scru, charging them an extra 10 acres in interest. The deal was for 40 acres and a mule. You charging them 50 acres though. I gotcha... 😆

    I would actually call this the Nas 3rd wind. He had a little bit of a fall off before the mid 2000s. God's Son was my favorite from that period of what I would call the Second Wind (Stillmatic started it) but he definitely has finally found his own in modern rap again. But that's my opinion.
